This place was a fantastic find. So impressed. It's a little bit hidden in off the beaten path but well worth seeking out if you're looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food. The owners were so kind and welcoming and the food was beyond delicious. We actually just returned from a trip to Mazatlan Mexico less than two weeks ago and this food was actually better than pretty much everything we had down there. So amazing a real treasure. We started with an order of the guacamole which was out in less than two minutes and it was so fresh it tasted like he just went and picked everything out of the garden. It was amazing and the chips there are so crunchy and delicious. My husband ordered the chimichanga with beef and he absolutely loved it. It was crispy and delicious the fillings were seasoned to perfection and again the ingredients were so fresh you could taste the quality. It wasn't greasy at all despite the fact that it was deep fried and the beans and rice were amazing. I ordered tacos and gave the gentleman who I believe to be the owner the option to choose which type for me. I was very happy when my dinner arrived and he chose the chorizo tacos. The chorizo in these tacos was not that dry mealy chorizo it was huge juicy pieces of delicious sausage. The onion and cilantro on it just perfectly made these the best chorizo tacos I've ever had. My husband does taco reviews and I've probably had over 200 different restaurant tacos and these are the best chorizo ones I've ever had including from California and various places in Mexico. Well lemme tell you about this place Went a couple days ago with a buddy both had Fajitas 1 beef 1 Chicken Yikes it was sizzling when they brought it to our table The whole place looked sounded and felt Mexican But alas the food SUCKED no flavour in either dish Nasty corn tortillas when the menu said Flour but the tortillas wouldn't have made a difference. You won't find anything fancy here such as décor, furniture or layout; however, you will find friendly owners who have a good sense of fun and can serve delicious dishes. CASH ONLY! with ATM in the establishment. Parking is average. They serve flour tortilla chips with a different kind of salsa that what an average Mexican restaurant serves. So much yes! This is, hands down, my favourite Mexican restaurant! The menu is ultra authentic and ridiculously fresh. I appreciate how when you come you can order the same meal multiple times and it's always the same quality, but you can still tell that it is made to order, not previously frozen like some other restaurants around. Juan and Anna-Maria are gracious, funny and beyond friendly. You feel like family here and I love that. I also really like the spice level in their food. I get a pleasant zing without it being unbearable, but they still retain the flavour you're looking for. Most excellent. They also have a decent beer selection (Mexican import) to accompany the meal. I have had items off of both the lunch and dinner menu; the lunch sizes are perfect for a midday meal while the dinner will most likely guarantee leftovers (unless you're crazy-hungry... A hidden gem in Aldergrove, WOW! Stopped by for lunch with some co-workers and everyone was very, very satisfied. For some big eaters, they couldn't finish the chimichanga. We visited after hearing a glowing review from a family member. The location was surprising, since it's literally hidden inside a commercial block facing a back parking lot. Had we just driven by it, we would never think to visit... But we were glad we did! The food was really tasty with lots of flavour, and the owners were very friendly and warm. A great local Mexican restaurant in a very unexpected location. The people who run the restaurant are amazing, incredibly friendly, and could not have been more welcoming. We were honestly a little skeptical of the reviews because of the location, but having eating there we can say that this is legitimately solid Mexican food. I had the fajita bowl, my daughter had a rice and bean burrito, my son had rice and beans, and my wife had a vegetarian burrito. They were all quite good. My wife and I are originally from the U.S. currently living in Aldergrove. We have been on a mission to find good Mexican food since we got here, so when we saw the handwritten sign advertising Mexican food we couldn't resist. Mazatalan is located just off of Fraser Hwy in an industrial park on a dead end street - so only those who on mission will find it. My wife ordered a chile relleno and I had fajitas with beans and rice all around. My wife swears it was the best chile relleno she has ever had! My fajitas were phenomenal as well! Salsa was fresh and had just the right amount of heat and the black beans and rice were especially tasty (not the typical flavorless, refried slop you get at some Mexican places). Everything was fresh, hot and delicious - not to mention affordable. The service was also quick and attentive. This place was great! We will definitely be going back. read more

The family and I were really looking forward to eating at Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. One of the owners, Ana, personally took care of us. Once you enter and sit down you are served a complimentary order of chips and salsa. The salsa is excellent and just the right level of spicy. We ordered the empanadas to start which came with an excellent sauce as well. My wife ordered cielo, tierra y mar which was a mixed plate of chicken, beef and tasty prawns. My older son ordered the enchiladas and my other son a cheese quesadilla. I ordered a beef chimichanga. All the plates came with a side order of beans and rice. We were all sufficiently suffonsified. The portions were more than enough. Señora Ana who is from Guatemala owns the restaurant and don Juan is the chef, he is the one who is originally from Mazatlan. They were both so friendly and they both spent time chatting with us and making us feel welcomed. My sons are pretty picky when it comes to eating out but both just dug in and didn't stop, a true testament to how tasty the food is at the restaurant. We all highly recommend this place! read more

I used to live in the Kootenays when this restaurant was in Nelson, Trail and Castlegar. Loved it then and was surprised to see it come up on Yelp when passing thru Abbottsford. I'm happy to report they are still making the same awesome classic mexican items from previous restaurants. This place is far from fine dining, but as soon as you step in the door it gives the feel of being transported to a mini Mexico vacation. The chef is singing in the kitchen, water glasses are scratched and you may have to drink from the opposite side due to a few chips. But that all adds to the atmosphere and the food is Mexico level good, which is hard to find in Canada with the exception of only a small handful of restaurants. Heads up it's cash only. They do sell margaritas although didn't see any drinks on the menu. They also have deserts not shown on the menu, so make sure to ask. read more

Yelp led us here, and the loud Mexican music outside was our first clue that it was going to be fun. The "cash only" sign sent us on a quick run to TD, and we went straight back for what proved to be an amazingly tasty meal. The couple that runs the place are authentic in every sense of the word. They worried about the quality of the food, they kept the drinks stocked, and they treated us to a post dinner shot of tequila to wrap the night. We have roots in California, and we compared our dishes favorably to authentic High Mexican restaurants in Silicon Valley like Palo Alto Sol , but also favorably to homey authentic taquerias from the San Joaquin Valley.
