We stopped here after hiking three hours on the Ice Age Trail. Great location, ok prices - a bit high but then again everything is nowadays. Nice big women's bathroom with a changing table for the littles (thank you for that!) Chips and salsa offered fast and our dishes came out quick too. I ordered a chalupa and was served a tostada. I brought it up to the server and was told what I was served was a chalupa. I ate it and it was just fine but I've had chalupas many times and while they are all served up a bit different none have been as flat a crunchy as this one, ha! read more

A great location for a Mexican restaurant in downtown Delafield, I had no idea it was even there. The inside is decorated like your classic Mexican restaurant and for a Saturday it wasnt that busy. We were seated right away by the friendly staff, though when we tried to order drinks, I think our waiter only spoke Spanish. Great for authenticity, but challenging for us visitors. I ordered the chicken flautas, one of my favorites. They were good and covered in cheese, even better, the side of rice was average. We would definitely stop in again, I'll have to brush up on some Spanish. read more

Tucked away on a corner in downtown Delafield this restaurant is a true gem. I have been here a number of times, but have yet to review it. I will take pictures of the interior and exterior on my next visit and add to my review! This restaurant will not jump out at you, but I highly encourage you to park that car and go in! I have yet to be disappointed. I would say I have been here about 8 times. The interior is decorated in full on Mexican vibes. The best kept secret is the festive outdoor bar and eating area. Behind the building and nearly invisible from the street are outdoor picnic tables and a full bar with TV's! This is a lake country gem! On this visit we had house margaritas that have never disappointed (large of course). Our final round we did upgrade to Patron margs and wow - I will never go back to house. They also have many different flavors, but I am a true believer in simple is better. I ordered Mexican Tacos on corn tortillas, the meat had good flavor and was not dry. I often find the steak to be dry at other locations and these were delicious. My son and brother-in-law ordered the burrito loco which they both ranted and raved about. I am likely to try this on my next visit after hearing how good it is. My sister ordered chicken nachos and this is where we lost our 5 star review :( She was served a plate of chips, chicken, and cheese for the hefty price of $11.50. There were no other toppings on these nachos. Even with the missing toppings (yes, we asked and were told "That's what you ordered") she said they were good. The food as always was great. But the service, it was bad. We had to ask for our order to be taken, had to ask someone to get our food, our waitress never bother to ask how our food was or if we needed anything and then we had to get our own check. As we left, there were more customers with the same problem. Turns out, our waitress went on break and left us hanging. Such a shame 9/21/25. 1:00-2:30ish. You wouldn't necessarily notice Mazatlan when you drive by their corner, but you should stop inside. It's a really cute aesthetic, and the chips/guac are a great choice. The margaritas were LARGE and the tables are wonderfully decorated. The service was also very good, though a little rushed and there were some confusing moments trying to overcome language barriers. I enjoyed my enchiladas but would have liked a little more flavor. The rice and beans made up for it though - they had a nice blend of cheese and sweet with starchy flavors. Stopped into this corner spot after some time at Lapham Peak! I was craving Mexican food, and this colorful place was nearby. The Good: - the salsa and guacamole were 10/10! - great patio atmosphere to soak up the sun. - our friends LOVED their margaritas. - the rice and beans were also 10/10! The Okay: - we all ordered from the vegetarian section and the food frankly all tasted a little similar item to item despite being different orders...things were doused in a heavy, thick cheesy sauce. I work in downtown Delafield and use to come to Mazatlan often but it has been a few years. Their outside dining area is colorful with plenty of tables. A big plus for also being dog friendly! Their menu is large and full of variety. Chips and salsa are served complimentary, pretty standard but I was happy to munch on them. I got the lunch Steak La Villa ($9.99) and it was a very filling portion. It was covered in cheese which I loved but the steak was very chewy and tough. My friend got the lunch special which you can pick two items from a list. They asked for an egg quesadilla instead of chicken/ground beef. We then noticed we were charged $2 extra for the substitution which I understand but seemed a bit silly since it was egg. I also asked for their spiciest hot sauce but also got charged an extra $1 for it. Hot sauce should come with your meal at a mexican restaurant? I think the server should have been more transparent with their extra charges. Overall, I had an OK experience but remembered why it has been a few years since returning back to this establishment. read more

I continue to have a great service at this restaurant every time I come out to visit my sister's family in Delafield. I love taking my nieces out to lunch or dinner when I'm hanging out with them. They have a great outdoor setting that's super fun and relaxing to hang out! I highly recommend getting the Mexican shrimp cocktail. It's one of my absolute favorite's! It's served cold with tons of shrimp, avocado, onion, cilantro and a delicious red broth! The kids always enjoy stuff off the kids menu. Tacos we very tasty as a the meat was juicy and freshly grilled. The shrimp dish was seasoned nicely albeit mainly onions and 4 or 5 shrimp... Small portion for the dollar. One common disappointment - the rice and beans. Both lack much of any flavor. Refried beans are the guilty pleasure of Mexican food typically full of fat and flavor... Not these, just warm and brown. The guacamole was well prepared but again slightly under seasoned to be respectable. I do not recommend this restaurant. I was in a group of four people on a Wednesday night. The food was mediocre. Actually, I don't like the food at all. It is over salted and over spiced but bland at the same time. The margaritas are beyond weak. The worst part about this place is the rudeness. Once the clock struck 7:30, the restaurant was thinning out and we were one of the only tables left. Obviously, the staff wanted to get rid of us so they started blasting the Mexican music to the point of us having to yell to continue our conversation. I'm trying to figure out why this place gets such good reviews. We took advantage of the beautiful weekend weather and sat outside on their patio. The patio is nothing special just a bunch of picnic tables in what appeared to be a driveway. Their menu is pretty expansive and it took awhile to decide what to eat. Chips and salsa came right away. The chips were crisp, but the salsa was pretty bland and did not have much flavor at all. I ordered a combo plate with a taco, enchilada and chalupa. The enchilada while the chicken inside was moist the tortilla was still pretty hard and the enchilada sauce was watery and lacking flavor. I thought I was getting a chalupa ended up just being a tostada with some chicken lettuce, tomatoes and guac. The refried beans were not the best I have had. My husband had the fish tacos that came highly recommended by our server and he said they were ok, but the ones we make at home are better. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in the food. It was bland and watery. Service was ok, nothing that stood out good or bad. read more

We have finally found our Go-to Mexican Restaurant! We moved here last year and had a favorite (we are very partial to Mexican food) where we had loved but kept trying restaurants here not finding a place that not only had excellent food, selection and service but a great atmosphere until we discovered Mazatlan! Their back patio with the fun bar, lights makes you feel you are at a beach-resort restaurant in Mexico. The selection of margaritas and other adult and non-adult beverages is wonderful and the food was fabulous! They are one of the few places who makes an excellent Pollo Norteño (among other excellent dishes.). This selection is rare and authentic and we were instant fans! We will continue to go back time and time again and so appreciate the present of this restaurants' presence in downtown Delafield! Muy deliciosa! read more
