This place was cool. My first time here - enough room for large parties. The services was polite. They have screens if you want to watch a game while you're eating. Peruvian food isn't the same without the green sauce and I was disappointed that they didn't have any and just had regular hot sauce.

This was a food truck at a winery I attended. They had multiple items available that were mostly appetizers. We had a big order, so it took some time to be prepared, but it was ready when the staff told us it would be. I had the empanada sampler and the chicken skewers. There were three different empanadas: chicken, chorizo, and beef. The texture of these were okay. I would have liked them to be crispier. The fillings were much better as I preferred the beef one the most. It was the tastiest to me. The chorizo was a little plain. The chicken skewers were the highlight here. They were tender with lots of flavor. They also came with a side in which we chose Yuca fries which were solid. There was also a green sauce and spicy aioli present. They were both alright, nothing great. I also tried the French fries and they were enjoyable with a nice crunch factor. Will I go back? Probably.

Excellent flavors, balance with the marinade -- incredibly tasty without being salt -- it's almost as if it's just the right hint all every marinade Thay needed to make the steak taste delicious and the rotisserie chicken punch with flavor... and the fried rice... oh man. Oh man... HANDS DOWN THE BEST I've ever eaten.,,

So apparently, they had a remodel , the recent reviews were mixed, so I was like, maybe it won't be so bad. I wanted something light and not so heavy, as it was hot outside. I started with empanadas. Wrong choice. Im start off by saying DO NOT get these! For $12 I got two small empanadas! Chicken! The chicken was dry! Barely any stuffing!! Look at the Insides! I used the yellow garlic sauce to make it edible, and it didn't help. The house dressings didn't help. The crust was deep fried in old oil because my empanadas were kinda burned. Papa's Huacuana. It is one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. However, it wasn't as flavorful as I would except to be, like El Cuzco in Langley Park. The service could have better. It wasn't even busy. Like 2 other families at the time. I had to ask... for water refills. By the time my waitress came to check on me, it was at the end of my meal. I told her about my empanada ordeal. She said to me she'll talk to them, I'm thinking they were going to rectify or other other options. She disappeared and had nothing and no solutions. I had to ask for my check. I hope the owner reads all the negative reviews on the empanadas because they Improvement. 2 stars is being generous.

Maytag's Peruvian Cuisine is a great Peruvian restaurant off of I-270 in Frederick, MD. As you walk in, you are greeted with lively music, colorful decor and an airy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. Their menu has a wide array of appetizers, entrees and sandwiches. They also have a full bar and a large selection of beers, some of which are the restaurant's brand. I chose the pulled chicken sandwich, which was delicious! The sauce had just the right balance of sweet and spicy. You will not leave this restaurant hungry because the portions are enormous. Definitely check out Mayta's if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Yesterday, I went with my family for the first time, and it was incredibly delicious! My husband, mom, and I ordered the Lomo Saltado, which was juicy and full of flavor. I'm not sure what they added to the bottom of the plate, but it paired well with everything. My dad had the carne asada and enjoyed every bite. The owner/manager and staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for having us!! We'll be back soon!!!

We were looking at trying something new in Frederick and I've been craving peruvian food...so we came across Maytas. It's located in a shopping center, so parking is easily available. We walked in around 430 and it was pretty empty. They had a small bar and several tables, both inside and outside. I wasn't sure what to order, but figured I had yo try their chicken. We starred with drinks and also ordered causa with tuna. My husband was excited to try their beer. He started with the IPA, however, he preferred the lager. I ordered a passionfruit Mai Tai, which was pretty good. The causa came out and tasted so good. The cold mashed potatoes mixed with the tuna and special sauce was perfection. My husband really enjoyed the Lomo saltado. Their chicken was good and flavorful, especially with their dipping sauce. The chauffa rice was good, but I do prefer it at another restaurant. I also got yucca as a side, which was fresh and delicious, especially when you dip it in their spicy sauce. We wanted to try rice pudding, but they were out. I got the passionfruit cheesecake. It tasted good, but it was more of a flan consistency than actual cheesecake, which I wasn't expecting. Our server was really nice and helpful, but service seemed a bit slow overall. Took a while to get drinks and our bill. Overall, good spot in Frederick, and we would definitely go back.

New Location (same shopping center). Now, around the corner next to Beer & Wine store.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, especially the dessert! We were visiting a friend who recommended this spot, and it definitely lived up to the hype. They have good drink options which was nice for a group which all had different tastes. We started with appetizers, including the chicken empanadas, the tuna tacos, and ceviche sampler. The chicken empanadas were good, if not particularly memorable. But had a nice crunch on the shell and the inside had a nice savory flavor and not dry. The tuna tacos, which didn't have the most appetizing color, was also tasty. The tuna was tender and balanced well with the crispy shell. The ceviche sampler was also delicious, each one having a different flavor profile. I liked the tigre de leche the best in terms of the acidity and brightness. I just wish the ceviche had some kind of vessel to eat it with. One of the ceviche had plantain chips which was nice but I wanted more. Without it, the texture is just one note. For the main dishes, we got the lomo saltado and the aji de gallina which are two, iconic Peruvian dishes. Both were just meh. The aji was the better of the two. The sauce was flavored well with the creaminess of the sauce not overwhelming the garlic and tumeric flavors. But the rice was SUPER dry, almost crunchy. The lomo saltado was even worse. The beef was overly cooked, some pieces were very sinewy and chewy. It was also overly salty and the veggie to meat ratio heavily favored the veggies and made the dish feel cheap. Overall, it was fine but given the options for Peruvian in DC, not sure this deserves 4 stars+.

The restaurant is in a little strip mall with 4-5 other restaurants, and I bet any of the other restaurants would have been a better choice. Inka Kitchen looked the fanciest on the outside with its seating area and fresh hanging flower baskets outside. I ordered a water with lemon. Sorry, no lemon, is lime okay? I also ordered an Inka cola. Sorry, we only have 2 liters, no individual servings. Then I ordered a 1/2 chicken with fried plantains & black beans. Sorry, no Peruvian chicken and the plantains are not sweet. The Peruvian restaurant did not have Peruvian chicken or fried plantains. So, I settled for a burrito bowl. I could not have been more disappointed. The chicken was tasteless but salty and tough/dry. There was a tablespoon of black beans, some diced tomatoes, definitely NOT pico de gallo, four slices of avocado, no guacamole, no sour cream. The other person had a quesadilla which they said was okay. So, how the restaurant has a 4.7 review is BEYOND me.
