We were taken by the idea of the Manzanita Bourbon, simply because of the name, and we were not disappointed. They produce medium, medium-dark, and dark roast coffees as well as a Decaf roast. Roasted in small batches using certified organic, fair-trade beans. Packaged quickly and each one date stamped. We devoured ours within a few days of purchase and would gladly purchase more as soon as the next opportunity arises.

How it was so buttery and crusty and the vegan sausage was flavored well! What a find! Spanakopita was another gem! Packed full of spinach and cheese and pretty hefty! It melts in your mouth too! Sweet: Caramel nut brownie like bar. It was dense, sweet, and had a nice chew! Good but not my fav! Nanaimo bar was sweet and very soft! Really good bar! Caramel bar was all our favorites! I highly recommend this one! It's not over sweet but has a cooky like texture! My friend also got a sandwich that was packed! I love this place! It's clearly a winner and hit among locals and visitors alike!

I asked about the coffee beans they use, and you guessed it -- locally roasted beans, just for them, by roaster Oughtred made especially for the cafe to the owners' specifications. Span is a block from the Crofton ferry on-ramp, so you can take your coffee to go & wait in the queue, or enjoy in the big park across the street while your kids & dogs play, or while you beachcomb, or on the short walk back to your beautiful Osbourne Bay campsite! Vibes are warm & welcoming, sometimes with jazz music on the record player. Design is sleek, clean and uncluttered, but still 100% West Coast, with lots of natural light, and beautiful natural materials. The owners are also artist-designer-craftspeople and have a perfectly curated shop featuring VanIsle artists that changes all the time.
