We stumbled across crèmecart at the Saturday Farmers' Market on Orcas Island. The two ladies who run the crèmecart, Michelle and Sommer, sound like they are regulars at the Saturday Farmers' Market, and other island locations as well. They rotate many cool ice cream flavors and cookie combinations. Their crèmecart Facebook page listed many enticing flavors, including: butter cookie and strawberry cheesecake ice cream; dark chocolate cookie and ginger ice cream; chocolate cookie with: salted caramel ice cream or coconut ice cream or chocolate ice cream; lemon cookie with: lavender ice cream or vanilla ice cream; gluten free almond cookie with vanilla or chocolate ice cream; and on July 4th, Apple Pie Ice Cream Sandies. How fun is that? So, like any food cart, crèmecart is seasonal, and moves around following the crowds. Thankfully, Orcas is a small island, and I promise you, they are worth searching for! Five Stars.

By the time I got there, lots of the ice cream sandwiches were sold out. All of the sandwiches are prewrapped and kept cold in the cart, so once they're gone... They're really gone. The cookie was nice and soft, but firm enough to stay together. The ice cream kept cold and didn't drip all over me. I was such a happy camper with my ice cream sandwich. I sure hope I run into this cart again!!

After several years of choosing other dining options on Orcas, I finally stopped by The Mansion…read moreRestaurant twice this year and enjoyed both visits. Over the summer my family and I came in for dinner. We didn't have reservations and had to wait in their cozy lounge area for a table to open up. We were lucky and snagged a window seat with the amazing view! I enjoyed my Old Fashioned, and was happy to see a couple vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. I went with the entree size of the Cauliflower ($22), which includes roasted tri-colored cauliflower, roasted pine nuts, dried apricots, and raisins over a citrus and spiced tahini coconut yogurt. While tasty, the entree size was more of a starter size, so I ended up getting some fries too. Yum! The fries were hot and the perfect thickness. We waited a while for the food, although this is expected on the island. With that said, enjoy your drink and have a snack before your visit if you tend to get hangry. Our waitress this time around was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. I stopped in for a last minute dinner this fall after my dinner reservation at another restaurant was cancelled that day. Without a reservation our option for dining room seating for two people was 5:30 (a little early for me) or 8, so we took some snacks to the beach for the sunset before heading back for dinner. They did have lounge seating available but I wanted a table with a view (even though it was dark, ha). This time around I ordered a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which was not my favorite, but drinkable. My entree was delicious though, making up for the wine. Even though it's not vegan, I made a vacation exception and went for the vegetarian Coconut Curry Vegetable Pot Pie ($30). That filling is so flavorful! I wish I could have a big bowl of just the filling, to be honest. Plus, the recipe of course. It included cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, kale, and peppers topped with puff pastry. Mmm. My companion seemed to enjoy his Ribeye enough. The host was friendly and helpful, and our server was pleasant enough. I'd happily come back again in the future, for both the ambiance and food.

Sadly not the same anymore as prior owner had it. Wouldn't recommend going to any more…read more Weird signs around the area for "pay for use" of everything, even $1 for a small peice of wood to burn. Parking lots for specific guests. Towels for "gold or better" guests. Oddly placed new amenities with picnic tables that have a large amount of weeds under it. No more hanging baskets or green grass. Staff is all gone from years past. Mansion is still closed and the store is now in the marina- weird. New roofed shelter by marina area but looks sub tier and out of place- grills are there now with benches. No wifi for boats in Marina.
