Earl's Garden! Yum! $14.95 for 50 tea bags.

One of the few good stops in Semiahmoo Mall. Murchie's is a little oasis for tea lovers. As you enter, you're surrounded with a wonderfully organized collection of teas. There is a wall of loose leaf teas you can buy in bulk - Green, Black, Matcha, White, Decaf, name your kind of tea and there's a selection. There's cute tea pots and other tea drinking-inspired accessories for sale in the store as well. There is also a wide range of tea bags in boxes. Tea samplers (10 for $4.50) are great for exactly what they are called - a sample of the tea before you go all in. Once you can commit to a tea they have individually bagged boxed teas from 50 for $14.95 and 100 for $19.95. In the back of the store, there is a small café where you can buy a drink of tea as well. There is a small area for sitting too! There were a few tea sampler pots you could try some pre-made tea. Earl's Garden captured by eye - a green tea inspired Earl Grey tea. It definitely had the foundation of a green tea but it had lovely hints of the florals I love in Earl Grey tea. Never seen this before and it tasted delicious! No need for a sampler box, I got a box of 50! Staff are really friendly. It was a cool bonus when I purchased my tea today - I got 15% off because it was "Tea Party Day"? Regardless, loved my first time here at Murchie's and I'll definitely be back!

This is a good place to buy tea but not a good place to drink tea. Murchie's feels like a little bit of England in White Rock. The teas they offer sound a little stuffy some times (Golden Jubilee, Prince Charles, Rideau Hall, Royal Alberta Museum, ect) but you know they will be quality blended black teas. They also mix it up with some fruit flavoured teas, even a lavender tea graces their shelves. Their selection of black tea is top notch, and I have seen a good selection of roiboos and green tea. But they are a British Tea shop, and the dark black teas are their specialty. They are also reasonably priced. They have a good supply of tea accessories and dishes. I recently bought a lovely tea cozy, while my mother bought charming tea spoons. The items are varied and also not incredibly expensive. Once again, the accessories are mostly for British teas. I don't think there will be matcha wisks or any of that sort. They also have a little cafe in the back left corner that offers dessert items and tea. And since it is British, you'd expect the tea cup and saucer tea spread. Not so! Due to some sort of problem with the mall they are in (or something) they are not allowed to have a dishwasher. So all the tea they serve is in paper cups. For many who are in a quick rush, that's fine. But for someone who was there to have a proper three o-clock tea, it doesn't make the cut. Indeed, the dinning has no class. It is more of a picnic inside, with table, chairs, napkins and paper plates available. Perhaps their other store locations have a better dinning section, because this one is sorely lacking.

The quality of Murchies tea is wonderful. Very flavorful and an abundance of variety. The shop has nice accessories to purchase too.

Hello from the Other Side!!!…read more Yup ... Your GTA Yelper is out in the West Coast enjoying the beaches, the wildlife, the mountains, the oceans... Ugh. I Just want to go back HOME!!! LOL! When in VanCity, do what the natives do. Go to the BEACH! There are several beaches to go to and when finished playing sunburn roulette, one usually finds themselves famished! Hmmm... Didn't have fish'n'chips for a while. In fact, it's been like dog's years and some. AND I saw Pelican Rouge on the way in on my e-scooter (yeah... love these things). This place is housed in as one of a series of small restaurants dotting Crescent Beach. Decided to just get something to eat. 2 pieces of Halibut, Chips, and some slaw. OUCH...$42!!!! Boy it better be good! IT WAS!!! NOT! You would be proud of the serving if you were related to Captain Highliner. The pieces of fish was small - might as well have been Goldie the Goldfish on the plate. And the CHIPS - don't call it chips, would be more in line with limp fries from Harvey's (I think it's the same frozen thing). The phenomenon called pay and tip before receiving the food - thank you Covid! - really is pissing me off. I had to pay for the food and tip before even knowing what is going to be on my plate. AND when I don't like it.. what is my recourse? The fish was not good - the batter was the only highlight here. I know this area is somewhat seasonal and can be a bit touristy but seriously, tourists are human too! FML! So... for all you peeps out there thinking BC got fish down to a tee. Well let me tell you, NOT. Simple batter and fry eludes them - thank the lord they still know how to cut raw fish and serve!!! Ugh... JEERS!!!
