Got quotes for repair and replacing my HVAC system from multiple companies. Maynard was the best quote by far and they installed the new system quickly and neatly I really appreciate their help and so glad to have a new system that I hopefully sail not have to repair any time soon. Only negative was I was quoted a smart thermostat and did not receive one. Would have been nice but not necessary. They were also supposed to come and inspect the install and appointments were made and rescheduled a couple of times. they were at my house 6 times in 10 days in December 2025. Gave the impression they were doing all they could to rectify with a HVAC Unit I bought form the about 26 months ago. Even got HVAC Mgr and Plumbing Mgr involved and on the phone with the unit Mfg. Still cost $1700 for other attempts to get resolved, but we thought it was fixed. Then came the snowstorm in January, 2026. on 1/25/26 unit stopped heating about 6:00 p,.m. waited until 7:00 a.m. the next morning to call. was told that it might be the end of the week before they could get to me. told her HVAC mgr told me to call him if problems. She said she would get him to call me. texted again after lunch, told the same thing. Today is 2/16/26. I have yet to hear from anyone from Maynard. I did call to cancel service agreement o 1/30/26 and ask for refund. Still have not heard from anyone. Oh by the way, the MFG recomended certifed repair company, HVAC was running again on Monday afternoon. Will not recommend Maynard to anyone. they really do not care. read more

They were friendly over the phone and came out quickly to fix my AC. It turned out to be a capacitor that needed to be replaced. They charged me $266.82 to replace a $15 part. The average cost of replacing a home AC capacitor is around $180, including both the cost of the capacitor and labor. So it's around $86.82 more expensive than what most places will charge you. After I had them install a new hvac unit, they keep canceling my hvac checkups last minute. The last 4 appointments I took off half days for my checkup and then am contacted last minute that they need to reschedule. I don't get paid when I don't work, so this can be devastating to my finances. read more

Inexcusably rude, condescending, insulting, and inaccurate. The tech who came to our house offered his help in choosing a replacement toilet from Home Depot instead of fixing the old one. He offered to go to get the new toilet so he could put it in. He installed it but left the job unfinished. The toilet turned out to be the wrong height. It was a mistake by the tech and us in that we misread the product description. We asked Maynard to swap out the wrong toilet for the correct one. They refused unless we pay for another installation. We already have paid them $500 to have a toilet partially installed. Now they won't talk with us and are misrepresenting the issue. We are long standing, elderly customers whom they consider expendable. Stay away from this company; not quality service or customer support. read more

Maynard Man, (Maynard Heat and Air, Maynard X 6 different names) was good for my needs for about two years several years ago and has gone steadily downhill since. Highest employee turnover rate I've ever seen and am not a spring chick. One said one thing and another another why that in writing in brochure and etc. notes yet another and all the time they claim the customer is telling fibs that employees never said that. Getting simple questions answered takes forever and they try to claim customers are being inpatient. Do NOT trust a word they say -ever and not even when it is put in writing, contracts, as they have more attorneys on staff then plumbers. Wonder why? Prices soar while services, consideration, heck- even human decency, is nonexistent. Had to resort to email to communicate after AI took over phone system and then got no where for over a year. I will not use Maynard again and this is why. I had an HVAC issue (2 years new installed by Maynard) and the worker said that he would have a part and be back as early as Monday. I had no AC in summertime for 2 days, but I was ok bc early next week is great. I would also like to note that the worker quoted an unbelievably high price in which I immediately said, "no way, I'm not paying that, you will have to come down". He said it IS reasonable bc they charge more than that in NYC and I said "nope"...again. I would like people, especially woman, to know to stand up to unreasonable quotes that are thrown out there. He quickly came down $500 which I thought was reasonable enough and decided to stick with Maynard, even though I am totally against working with service workers who quote unreasonably high, it's a disgrace. I called Monday and talked to what I didn't know at the time was the AI assistant. She said they were set to come out tomorrow (Tuesday), still fine. Tuesday, I got a text that they were coming Wednesday. I talked with the "AI Assistant" a little upset and "hot" but if that is the best I can get, at this point I'm desperate. Wednesday comes, no text or call that they are coming, I call the "AI Assistant" (I still think she's real) and she tries to make an appointment for Wednesday after hours from 12pm - 3am. I'm pretty hot and want to know what is going on, she forwards me to the service manager (I will not name names) and he says the part is not ordered yet. I was upset but he was going to give me some money off for their mishap which made it better. The part comes in Friday, and the same guy comes to repair (i do like that they keep the same guy for the job even though he tried to over-quote me). It's the wrong part. The worker came in apologizing saying he told the girl to order this certain part, and she did it wrong. So already a girl is being blamed. This is early Friday, and he says he will order the part on Monday. I called Maynard concerned that I think the part should be ordered ASAP and not wait till Monday bc we need this as quick as possible and that I wouldn't mind ordering the part and overnighting it and taking it off the price of the repair to make sure it gets here ASAP. Someone was going to call me back later. The service manager wanted to talk to me through the workers phone, and he blamed it on the guy in York parts and also gave me his name and phone number and said to "take your grievances up with him". All I did was talk to someone about how we need to order this ASAP, not wait till Monday and that I will order it if they need. Clearly, they had an issue with ordering parts at the time, but I didn't say anything like that to them. I didn't understand why the manager was giving me his number, so I asked, "ok, do you want me to order the part?" "No", that's not why he gave me the number, he just assumed I was going to complain and was passing the buck to him (when the worker already blamed it on a girl that works there, and he gave me money off bc of their mishap). I never talked to the worker at York, but he did nothing wrong in this whole situation. So, Maynard never ordered a part, then ordered the wrong part, then tried to blame it on York. I went a week and a half with no air. They did rig the AC to produce 75-degree air (was worried about how safe that was on my 2-yr new unit but didn't ask) after Friday till they could fix it on Tuesday. I know mistakes happen, but this immature blame game on a girl in the office (why couldn't he put the order in himself), then on someone who totally did nothing wrong and doesn't work there was off-putting. I don't like spreading negativity, but I feel it is my duty to let people know that this company price-gouges, is very immature and uses an AI assistant. read more

This has been a long time coming. Several years ago, a crew from Maynard came here to do some work. I would not recommend your company to any one. They did the work but that night, it rained torrents. Everything they did washed away. They said they were not responsible for that. I had dirt running everywhere. Horrible!! After several days, one of the head guys came by and said that it would be all replaced. He called it catastrophic and had a crew to come back. They came and they were ugly and hateful to me. They let me know they should not be doing the repair work. Incidentally, we had already been without water for about a week and a half so that was not good news. They took way too long to destroy my yard in the first place. Come see my yard some time. We believe they took most of the dirt with them. When you look out my front window, you can see the trench where they put in the water line. It's not covered well. The yard is full of holes. I have had people to fall. The cover for the pipes was put in very crooked. It is so close to the driveway that it has been hit more than once. They came in my house and told me that I needed to purchase 2 new toilets that were not very old. I have since had them repaired and they work fine. The tanks were full of dirt that they left. There was probably more. It has been a while. My husband had passed away and I had to come up with $8000 for what I got. I am not expecting anything from you. I am just venting. I have used Maynard in the past. They did a decent job installing my new HVAC and new vent system. I even purchased a home health plan hoping to protect my house moving forward. A plumbing issue came up at my house, so as part of my home health plan benefit, I thought I'd reach out to Maynard first to diagnose and provide an appropriate solution to plumbing problems I was having. I had a service tech dispatched to my house, which I paid roughly $50 (a "discount" for purchasing a home health plan) for a diagnosis. Tech arrived, asked me some questions and crawled around in the crawl space--took all of 15 - 20 minutes. Then he presented me with the long list of problems such as a collapsed main sewer line, improper venting, improper connections to the main, etc., and the long list of fixes that would be needed. He then spent about 10 minutes writing up a quote for me, which came to a little over $13,000. Perhaps that was a fair number and Maynard would have done quality work IF that was the proper diagnosis and solution. I decided to get a second opinion, and thankfully, I did. The second plumber came out and did a proper inspection -- asked questions, observed inside the house, crawled under the house AND ran a camera through the pipes of my house, especially the main sewer line. Turns out the main line was completely fine except for a clog, which took no time at all to clear. There was one section underneath one of the showers that was severely clogged, so it was replaced. The plumber did a few other small PVC updates and installed a more easily accessible clean out to make troubleshooting easier in the future. I ended up spending less than $2,900. I called the service technician to follow up and let him know my disappointment in his poor assessment -- either lazy or just plain dishonest. When I informed him about properly inspecting the problem with a camera, he told me, "I tried to get one for you, but I didn't have one on my truck," which is a simply unacceptable excuse. 1. Why did I pay you $50 in addition to my "home health plan" for you to diagnose the plumbing problem if you are are not going to use the right equipment or put forth the level of effort required? 2. If you have the audacity to quote me more than $13,000 for a job then you damn well better go back to you main headquarters, get a plumbing camera and come back to my house to run a proper diagnosis. In summary, Maynard is either lazy, dishonest or a little bit of both. When they come out, they are NOT looking to diagnose the problem and offer you options that are truly tailored to fix the problem you have. Maynard is there to make the most money off of you plain and simple. Would Maynard's proposed solution have fixed my problem? Sure. But it would have cost me $13,000 and been way above and beyond what was necessary. They tried to sell me a brand new Cadillac when all I need was an oil change, new air filter and swap out the tires. I saved more than $10,000 by NOT using Maynard and instead going with a company that works hard and is honest. I'd recommend you find someone else as well. read more

I contacted Maynard 2 years ago because I thought they were a small local family owned business. I bought the entire new furnace system THEY recommended which was over $5,000. I bought the annual service checks package so that they would come out each Spring and Fall to check my unit. Obviously prevention and maintenance can make a system last longer. I have filters shipped to me and replace them monthly. My last filter was there 90 days instead of 30. So after 4 visits I get a tech who tells me that pet hair has been sucked into the furnace. I'm not sure why the other techs on 3 other routine calls never informed me of that. Today I was charged $1,386 for the 2 hours it took today's tech to vacuum out my furnace. Was it 90 days worth of pet hair or 2.5 years? Who knows? Negligence by previous Maynard techs resulted in a $1,386 bill that I'm charged. Very disappointing. Not a good business practice. read more

Overly aggressive and deceptive sales tactics - would not recommend to any friends or family. The technician came to look at our AC unit and initially quoted us $500 to replace a few things. After we asked if there was a simple fix to get us going because our unit was too old to spend that kind of $$ he said oh yeah, I could do this for a lot cheaper and we'll have a guy quote you on a replacement. The fix ended up being $100 instead of the $500 he originally quoted us, only Next, we had the guy quote us for a replacement for which he gave us three very expensive quotes- we said we'd have to wait on making the decision. He called the following business day and asked us if we were moving forward on one of their options and we said we were gettin a second quote. After that he mentioned, oh yeah, we have some more economical modes than the ones we quote you for $1-2k cheaper.. The sales tactics they've used here are deceptive and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone wishing honest and transparent work done on their HVAC. Oh yeah, they also charged me twice so I now have to call back and get them to reverse a charge. read more

Huge dust problem in our house that I blamed on dog dander. Finally gave into wife's request to clean the air ducts. I believed this kind of service removed mythical dust. Josh and Colden came out and removed all the duct grills (which always seemed to be behind headboards or under couches), chimney swept the ducts and were done in a couple of hours. I have used Maynard Select to check my fridge in my store. The first year the bill was really high they told me it was because the music festival was going on and was hard to get downtown. This year they came to check and blow the dust off the motor.The Guy was in my store for about 10 minutes. They charged me $174.80. Truck charge $40.00 and 105.00 for driving to downtown and back. I would not recommend this company and will never use them again. read more

Negative five stars. We just had a "senior technician" show up today for, what I can remember 14 times in the past three summers. Removed a cover from the panel that reads; "replaced for the 2nd time on 4/1/21" placed that on the duct work then told my girlfriend we needed two new damper motors(there only one in the attic) and he would only charge us &660 for one as if he's doing us a favor. The motors are $84 on Amazon. What a joke. Now there's condensation building up on a drain pipe and ruining my ceiling for a second time in two years since these people have been coming here. I've since this guy left jammed the damper open myself and ordered a new motor for 84$. This guy literally showed up was in my house two minutes. It's hotter now then it was before he got here and I have water damage AGAIN on my ceiling. If anyone needs work concerning a zoning problem in their duct work. Had 10 yr. parts and labor warranty on my AC. Tech diagnosed fix that cost me over $800 (out of pocket) mostly freon cost that was'nt covered by warranty. This did not fix my unit. Tech had to come back same day to fix problem that was fully covered by my warranty (parts and labor). A Maynard tech tried a similar tactic on my daughters' AC ($1800) fix, large part, freon. I advised her to get a second opinion with another company, saved her a ton of money. read more

So I've come to believe their are zero AC services in Nashville you can trust. We had Maynard install new AC 6 years ago ( 8000.$). It went out 3 days ago and so we called them to check it. They came that same day to evaluate it and said we needed new blower motor. Even though the unit was still under warranty - the cost was stated as 599$. ( for labor ). Well - seems high but we needed our AC. They agreed to come in 3 days to fix it. We received email that they would be here between 8-12. We waited all morning and then called - they stated our appointment was at 3:30. So of course we waited. The technician arrived at 1:30. ( not between 8-12 and not at 3:30). Once he was here he spent 45 minutes fixing the unit. He did indeed fix it and was polite. I don't really have an issue with him. My issue is with a company that tells you they will be there from 8-12 and then says no it's 3:30. And then comes " early " at 1:30. My main issue is the 599$ for 45 minutes of labor. If we were also charged for parts I possibly could understand the charge. However- the parts were under warranty. So I do take issue with 600$ per hour for labor. Actually - that's not totally fair as that charge also included his initial visit which was another 30 minutes. I guess I should not be surprised as I have used multiple other AC companies in Nashville and have yet to find one I could trust - ie Lee Company , Hillers, Donnelson Air, and the worst of all - Covenant ( a " Christian " company - laughable ). I have lived here for 35 years and am still looking for a trustworthy reliable company . And by the way - I just received a text telling me the technician was on his way. i am very unhappy and disappointed with Maynard, i had a very bad experience. last Thursday i had requested a service call because my rental property ac was not cooling, the maynard tech came out and worked on it , but they did not fix it right the first time and the tech charged me $140, the next day, Friday, the ac was not cooling again and i had to call maynard again. the tech came out again and this time he said the capacitor needs to be changed. ac started working for a little bit, but again the next day on Saturday the ac stopped cooling again, i had to call maynard again. i called them around 4pm, but no one showed up the whole day. finally the next day i ended up calling another hvac company, and they fixed it right the first time and i havent had any problems since. i am very unsatisfied with maynard, and i seems that there techs are not qualified and dont know how to fix the ac issues read more

Toilet clogged. Did not make appointment well and staff came directly. Did nothing and requested the price $450. Declined their service. The staff said I will be charges $40. Another well known company fixed the problem and charged only $220 However, Maynard sent a bill with $147.07 including a so called diagnosis fee. That's robbing people's money. We purchased our HVAC from Watson Electric who was acquired by Maynard. Today we woke up to a cold house. I called Maynard who was able to send a service guy out within a couple of hours. The service man was able to quickly determine which component of my system failed and that it was still fully covered by the original warranty. The part was backordered at all of his regular suppliers. Rather than giving up, the service man and his folks at the Maynard office were able to convince the manufacturer to give me the necessary part out of a complete unit in the warehouse. I had a friend who worked on the commercial side of Maynard so I allowed them to handle the regular service on my house. After two years of bi-annual maintenance on my system, I happened upon the duct-work that takes carbon monoxide from the heating unit. The duct was laying on the ground in my crawl space and rotted to oblivion. I asked them to look at this and why it was not identified during the regular service check ups. They admitted fault and offered to replace free of charge. Nice right? Not so fast. I happened upon this again yesterday to see they replaced they duct with new piping but still laid the duck on the floor and not attached to any venting outlet so still just realeasing into the crawlspace/basement in my house. Tell me how mad you would be? This crawl space is right next to the art area where my 4 and 6 year old daughters play daily. I called them yesterday to tell them the problem, asked if they could call me back in less than an hour...24 hours later and still no return call. I used Maynard for years until 2013. They always seemed to stand behind the customer when they were Maynard Fixurecraft, but they were bought out and became Maynard select. It seems they care more about their bottom line than they do the customer. They probably made 30,000 dollars off of my company on average per year when we started using them in 2006. This past year they made a grave mistake when fixing our cake freezer around Valentine's day, in which they came out and claimed to fix our freezer, only for us to STOCK it with 1,000$+ in product and us to lose all product over night. When we came back the next day, our whole restaurant was shaking violently because they hadn't fixed the issue properly (not to mention melted cakes and novelties all over our freezer and ground). When I inquired about the issue with the manager, he said they are not perfect 100% of the time and will make mistakes. He even shaved off some labor for us, essentially saving us a couple of hundred dollars. Problem is, they came back out and "fixed" the issue and a couple of days later we lost all product again. Thanks for saving us a couple of hundred on labor when you costed us thousands in potential sales (sarcasm). I had to call Ecolab to come fix the problems (in which they properly diagnosed and fixed) and its now late August and I have not had an issue since. Maynard should have eaten the cost and taken care of a loyal customer. Instead, they called me and only cared about the past due bill (which I refused to pay until recently). I just said "screw it," and took care of the bill because I was giving them a chance to remedy the situation, in which they just didn't care. My company is expanding and now all my service needs are going to Ecolab and Superior refrigeration. Big mistake Maynard! I hope you learn that the customer ALWAYS comes first! The ONLY reason for the 2 star rating is that they were solid before and I hope they can be that customer service oriented company they once were! read more

You would think a company as big as Maynard Select would uphold a dress code for their personnel out in the field. However this was not the case when the man came to check my heat and air unit. He looked as though he just got out of bed in the same clothes he had on the day before. His shirt was dirty and wrinkled, his boots were not laced and his hair was pulled back in a ponytail without being combed. I was hesitant about opening the door thinking a bum was at my door until I saw the Maynard vehicle parked outside my home. This was my first and last experience with Maynard Select. This is a perfect example of first impressions speak volume. read more
