Most horrible hookah lounge ever! The guy tried playing us by showing a "$40 hookah deal" he said ice and everything included. Comes the bill and it's $115 because it was $40 each hookah plus extra for ice. They are cheap and rude, even confronting the guy he said he did nothing wrong. read more

I'm a hookah bar fan I always keep a look out for a nice place. Hookah is A+ hers so is the service. Prices is ok and the place needs to be maintain a lil better over OK place read more

My friend and I come here once a week to once every 2 weeks and we love it. Every time we come, the staff is great, but the fantastic service we got yesterday made me want to write a review. Every time we come, we always create new mixes for ourselves to try, but we had no idea what we wanted yesterday. Upon reading the menu, we kinda wanted to try blackberry ad asked what it would mix well with. The server said he definitely did not recommend blackberry at all as it might turn us off hookah. He sat down and spent a good 5+ minutes discussing options with us. Most people would have just said okay and if we didn't like it, oh well. But this young man (I wish I knew his name so I could give him the credit he deserves) wanted us to actually enjoy our experience and steered us away from something he didn't think we would like. Tips: -an ice hose is pretty awesome -the pineapple head (or and fruit head, I guess. But I've only tried pineapple) is definitely worth the price. -we tried the orange cream once. Never again, it was gross -they have something called coco strawberry (or something like that), another not so great flavor Only con, it's a bit expensive. However, I haven't been to any other hookah lounges to compare it to, so maybe it's just me read more

Really bad service, horrible attitude. The bad service totally destroys the chill vibe of a hookah lounge. Getting their attention to take an order to replacing coals is a bit of a hassle. Then you have the hookah policy in which it's one hookah for every 2 people, even if they don't smoke, and a drink policy per person, where you end up getting subpar bottled water. Then on top of this, they have additional hidden charger per hookah. Finally they added 18% gratuity (without letting anyon know) regardless of the number of people. This place used to be good a few years back but now the place seems dissmal. I will probably never come back. read more

The only thing this place has going for them is their cool, trendy atmosphere. I am not going to lie they did a great job decorating, but nothing else here is to rave about. So to start off they have a club-like vibe going for them, with darkened front doors, red carpet, and red rope. There is a 'bouncer' -like guy who checks ID's half the time and half the time hangs out indoors. Upon entering you come to the bar where you are then seated. Like I mentioned, they have a bar.. but with alcohol free beverages which is kind of corny. When it comes to their hookah, their prices did go up, they have a grand selection but the hookah takes forever to come out and it just does not last long. The worst part is that if you need more coal or for your hookah to be fixed you have to wait foreeeeever for anyone to come over. Personally, this place just isn't worth your time. I guess Maya is good for those who want to feel like they are at an upscale club but can't actually go to one.. read more

Beware if you order a mix of two basic flavors, they charge you extra for extra flavors. In my case I orders a pineapple mint hookah and they charged me $10 for one flavor and charged $2 for the other flavor. $12 isn't much but they didn't say that up front nor does the menu say that, a big turn off when I go to a hookah lounge since I never have been to a hookah lounge that have ever done that. Otherwise great atmosphere for the most part sometimes staff can act as if they are doing God's work but that's the culture. read more

So the place is a mess. The customer service was atrocious . The hookah wouldn't pull .. I can't speak badly enough. If you love yourself don't come here read more

This place is ridiculous lol. They got a dude standing at the door checking ids, okay cool. But that dude was wearing a damn police badge . Like bruh, you look ridiculous. 1: we know you ain't a cop. 2: you look stupid, take that off. Anyway. The inside is cool, my first impression was, this is pretty sweet. Bar, lounges and good music. Turns out their bar is non alcoholic bar lmao. The bartender is wearing a bow tie and serving mixed drinks containing juice. Lol. I wouldn't waste my money in this place again. read more

Extremely rude service. Have no respect for their customers and will straight up lie to get their point across. Our server told us that he'd bring his manager out and then 2 minutes later told us that he was the manager. Makes absolutely no sense and I would not waste my time here. It's Saturday night 12 am and the place is empty. We came with 11 people and they didn't want to compromise on any order and decided to not serve us. Don't come here ever. read more

They know how to prepare a good hookah. They use good coals and shisha as well. I do think they are under staffed, it took a good 15 mins to get two hookahs out however the 3rd took well over 30 mins of repeatedly reminding him. They need to hire a designated coal server. I love the drink idea of nonalcoholic "alcoholic" drinks. Hookah flavors are also good. My favorite as always been winterfresh by starbuzz which is difficult to find, I was happy to see they had it. Will be going again. The photos on their website make it seem a little larger & elegant then it really is. I did like the music. The lights were were pretty cool too. The darkness was ok they should think about investing in some flameless candles. Very friendly staff. read more

Terrible experience. I added a star for the decor/interior which definitely adds potential but everything else was just bad. First, there's the super strict security guard who clearly takes his job way too seriously. Music choice was horrible, but being that my group of 5 and I are from New York, it's hard to find comparable hookah lounges to Dyckman & Steinway, so we tried to give it a chance. We got 2 blueberry mint hookahs which left a super strong perfume-y after taste. It's also mandatory that everyone seated orders drinks, despite it being completely alcohol free. I ordered a bottle of water (2$) and asked for a cup of ice which was an extra dollar. For no-name water? I mean sheesh, you can get Essentia for 3$. Aside from that, you have an hour to stay in, on top of the 18 percent gratuity automatically added. Not to mention 7% tax. For 2 hookahs and a couple of bottled waters, 90$. Ridiculous. I do NOT recommend. read more

This place was absolutely horrible. The servers disappear and never return. The hookahs take forever to come out, and when they did half of them had broken hoses. read more

This place is great! The staff is fantastic and helpful. You should definitely try the Nutella Milkshake! They have several non alcoholic beverages (they don't serve alcohol and it is not BYOB). I also recommend their Pan Masala hookah - it's great, and it lasts a long time! They do have a rule - for every two people, they need one hookah. It's the main reason that I can't give them a 5 star. read more

Great atmosphere, but the management is poor. Also there is a strict dress code for men that is not posted, and they will refuse entry to anyone that is not dressed as they deem appropriate. Overall, the management, along with the unreasonable policies, ruin the entire experience of the once cool environment. read more

I lovee the environment here. There's always people here. I've been on a Monday night and it's really just to chill. They don't serve alcoholic drinks but the drinks are very good. The presentation is really aesthetically pleasing. They also Bring you a desert if it's your birthday. read more

The stuff is affordable I will give them that. But as far as service goes the owner needs to go back to business school. So we go there pretty cool. Half our party arrives late and orders way after us. One waiter tells me yea just pay your portion and the tab will stay open for them. Ok I'm cool with that, so that's what I do. When the other half of the party is ready to go the criminal (owner) was like we "split checks for no one" and is basically threatening to call the cops on party half #2, if they didnt pay an amount (which wasn't even the full bill). Also the owner has no respect for armed forces members. I personally will never go back to that place ever again. But you can decide for yourself. read more

I've come here many times over atleast 6 years with mixed experiences, but tonight I was disappointed and likely will not be going back. 4 people, 2 hookahs, some tea and 2 waters came out to over 60 dollars when they added in a 25% gratuity without even indicating an additional charge on the receipt which was handwritten and barely legible. 1 hookah was barely smokeable from the time we got it, with a burnt flavor and spent coals. Disappointed read more

Last night I was there for my birthday. This place is amazing! I used to go to Fire and Ice in Fords but I made a reservation for here for 20 people since Fire and Ice didn't want my business for some reason. Well Maya Hookah Lounge hooked me up with a private area and the people working there were so friendly. I recommend this place to any group of people. read more

The place is amazing. The music, seating and hookah is on point. I would recommend this place to every single one out there.

Nice place for a weekend or even a Monday night. Trendy atmosphere. Staff is friendly and will make any type of hookha you want.

NO HEAT. BRING A FEW BLANKETS OR ELSE YOU'LL Get pneumonia . The best part of that they ask if you want a used plastic pipe or a new pipe for $3. read more

First let's talk about the good things - the prices were VERY reasonable. The drinks (non-alcoholic; they don't have a liquor license) and hookah were delicious. I liked the atmosphere. The seating arrangements were comfortable. Now on to the not so god things - the service is horrible. The servers tend to neglect the table. Drinks took forever to come out and our coals would get cold in our hookahs. It took forever for us to find someone to replace them. Our server did not know the menu at all! Neither did the bartender with the time it took for our drinks to come out. When our bill finally arrived (after two times of asking), we were overcharged. While, this may not be everyone's experience, I say patron at your own risk. read more

This place is like an awkward middle school dance, especially with the choice of music. No alcohol, no BYOB...perhaps too cheap to get a liquor license?Security guy at the front wears a badge, good one. Hookah dies out and they come half an hour later with coals. They try to push you into getting the "fruit bowl", don't be fooled. In addition, poor shisha bowl making technique overall. Overall a good ambience, which attempts to mask the cheapness of the place (they serve you SAMs club brand water bottles, really?). read more

Okay...I can safely say I had the best sheesha of my Life at Maya last weekend...and its a big deal for me to say tht since I am from Dubai and have real high sheesha Standards...It was an Art Sheesha and the Manager Surprized us with the flavor...He said its the best Paired sheesha Flavor mix with the Art Hookah...and boy was he right!!! read more

This is one of the nicest hookah lounges that I have been to. I have never posted a review but I feel that yelpers are hating on this place for no reason. The staff is very polite and service is fast, regardless of if the place is packed or not. There is a good mix of music. The hookah is amazing, try the pan masala. This is the only place that keeps their hookahs clean so flavors don't transfer. If I listened to for reviewers, I would have missed out on a great experience. read more

They make you buy a hookah no matter what and it's only a hookah per couple. Prices were good and drinks were great besides that little inconvenience. read more

Great environment! No drunks and no other types of smoking allowed... This place is by far the best... Great staff and great quality at a reasonable price! read more

Looking for a higher end hookah bar with a cool atmosphere? Come here. The inside is fairly nice. There is music playing and there's a noticeable "club vibe" since there's a bouncer at the door that checks your id before you're let in and it's dark and noisy inside. The hookah isn't the greatest but the wait staff is pretty attentive and courteous. My recommendation is to come here with a group of people so this way you can share a few different types of hookahs and the bill being split amongst you will be a lot cheaper. Came here as a group of 6, shared 3 hookahs, and each of us paid $11. And yes, they make you order a drink as well but they have a huge menu of things to choose. I would definitely return here. read more

Smooth cool vibes. If you are in Jersey this is a must if you're looking to relax vibe out and chill. Trust me!

Love the atmosphere and the music very chill and relaxing ! The flavors are really good too, overall a great place and great service

Rude service, server lied about being the manager because he didn't want us to speak with the manager. Server forced us to get 6 hookahs for 11 people. I didn't want to, and the owner said 'go fuck yourselves' and kicked our post wedding party out of the lounge. Been here a few times with my wife and I never had anyone speak to us like that. Will not come back. EDIT-We ended up going to Sultana Hookah down the street. Excellent service, reasonably priced, better atmosphere and music, and they have real bar type food for cheap all the way till three. I repeat-skip Maya and go to Sultana. read more

Pretty cool looking place, and a large variety of flavors. Kinda rude workers. My boyfriend and I went here with a friend and after waiting for the hookah, it would not even pull, poorly packed in. They were stubborn about fixing it and thought we were stupid and didn't know what we were doing. (We go to hookah lounges every weekend) and also have our own hookah. Kinda ridiculous. Waiting a long time for our check too. Poor service. read more

Hookah is pretty good, a great variety of non-alcoholic drinks, no food though but overall good experience. **However, check your bill.** They overcharged on two items (hookah and one of the drinks). I'm not sure if this is their ploy to fluff up the total bill. The check price included the tax and tip so if you don't pay attention you might end up double tipping. The manager adjusted the bill to its correct price but I suspect this is what they do. As long as you're mindful, you will have a good time. read more

I've been here a couple times, and I personally had a good experience. The customer service is pretty decent. The employees are always attentive when we need something. I love the ambience and decor! How often do you see zebra print chairs?! The drinks are pretty good too! I highly recommend bringing your friends here to relax and hang out. But make sure it's an even number of friends you bring because it's 2 people per hookah. I know the regular favor hookah is $12 which is a decent price. I recommend coming here on the weekday than the weekend. read more

I love this place. I am a serious hookah head (not something I'm proud of lol) and I'm very picky about my hookah, and this place has awesome hookah. I usually get mint chocolate chill and it literally tastes like the ice cream. Everyone I go with enjoys their hookah. This last time I got lemon mint and it was great. The service is spectacular and the people who work there are always dressed to impress. And they truly care that we enjoy our experience. Love love love it. Also, their drinks are delish. I usually get their Oreo milkshake and this time I got their new Nutella one and both are amaaaazing. Hands down, if u want a good time with good music and a good vibe, I suggest Maya's. Sincerely, your avid hookah smoker read more

There really aren't many interesting places to go out to in the area so I was excited when hearing about Maya Lounge. My friends and I go to Maya when we want to stay local and have chill night. The decoration and lights inside are very nice. There is an upbeat ambiance with music playing in the background (however they do not take song requests and the music choice can be lackluster). I think they should get a local dj to play the weekend nights or some other type of entertainment. The service is fair. Be aware that they add 18% gratuity on the check without telling you. Could be better but definitely worth checking out. read more

Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't too packed, as expected for a weekday. The hookah flavors and prices were very reasonable and the service was very good. I believe there is a one drink minimum (non-alcoholic drinks only) per person in addition to the hookah. I think they charge you one hookah for every two people, that's the only downside if you have a large group or people that are with you who don't smoke hookah. read more

Staff is great, everyone of them is chill, service is quick, lots of smoke and high quality of shisha and coal. 100% recommend to anyone

Come here when you are done with your dinner n drinks. Hookah will increase your toxic levels and dessert will serve your sweet tooth. Nice ambience. read more

I've been here more than 10 times it's good hookahs good service is okay too. But recently I went there we were a group of 4 people we ordered 2 hookahs and when the bill arrived they charged 15$ extra tipping themselves by own. And I understand when it's a large group they charge more tip but this was really bad on their side our bill was 50 and they automatically increased it to almost 70 that's more than 20% tip. This never happened before even when we come in more than group of 4. I feel tip is something you give by your own chance depending on the service. But this is a shitty way of making money. read more
