The bartender was spot-on. Drinks were not watered down and delish The turkey dinner featured all white meat, with tasty stuffing and real cranberry sauce. The chicken fingers seemed like Costco quality and were air-fried. The dipping sauce, a sweet and sour mix, was delicious. The Irish nachos were left under the broiler a bit too long, so the top was burnt, but once I peeled that off, the rest was loaded with bacon, tomatoes, and cheese. However, the sour cream and salsa came in tiny containers, and the salsa was a bit watery. The view from restaurant porch (pub seating is inside bar area) was incredible. Kid friendly atmosphere. Wow this place is adorable! Cozy and quaint Irish bar with amazing food and lovely staff. My friend and I were in town for the night and this place came highly recommended by our B&B host. Everything on the menu looked amazing but I ended up ordering the Harvey Gibson sub and upgraded for a side of French onion soup. This was one of the best things I have eaten on our trip! Sautéed pastrami and onions smothered in sweet onion sauce and melted cheese on fresh baked bread. WOW. 10/10!!! The French onion soup was a tasty treat as well 8/10. My friend got the steak salad and I think she regretted it when she had a bite of my sandwich, but she said it was tasty 8/10. Large parking lot, indoor and outdoor seating with mountain view and lots of (mostly Irish) memorabilia on the walls. We only ordered entrees: chicken curry and vegetables with rice and a scoop of mashed potatoes; and beef stew with celery, carrots, fried biscuits, potatoes and, yes, a scoop of mashed potatoes. There were lots of potatoes in the stew to begin with, so it made no sense (to me) to throw a scoop of mashed potatoes on top of it. Apparently there weren't enough carbs, so they added the fried biscuits. That said, the beef stew was delicious with soft, large chunks of beef. Ditto for the chicken curry with both rice and mashed potatoes - otherwise very nicely done. I inquired about (but declined to order) their soup of the day, which the waitress described as some kind of potato. We sat next to a couple of nice, friendly, local regulars eating very thick sandwiches. Her's was a Reuben and she especially enjoyed how, instead of thin sliced corn beef, they gave her a large chunk. From what we could tell, portions here were generous. We'd try it again. But it makes me worry that I did eat some pink not even realizing. She basically just said sorry and that was it and I understand that. But at the same time that's not just like a little issue. Large portions and solid Irish dishes, accompanied by ice cold Irish drafts, make for a satisfying dining experience. The standouts for us though ended up being non-Irish selections; the Tomato Basil soup of the day, which was the best version we've ever tasted, and the outstanding Grilled Peach & Goat Cheese Salad. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. I took my fiancé away for a couple of days to celebrate his birthday. He loves Irish food and this place was really close to our hotel so we stopped in for dinner. The ambiance inside is really warm and welcoming. It feels like a cross between a cozy home, an Irish pub and a fantastic antique shop. The moment we stepped through the doors we were hit by the delicious smell of home cooking. We were sat at a corner booth with a beautiful view of a snowy mountain. Our waitress, Nona, was welcoming and very attentive. Both my fiancé and I ordered the Taste of Ireland which included a sample of their chicken pot pie, their beef stew and their shepherds pie made with ground lamb. The portions were just right and each part of the sampler was the perfect comfort food. Our favorite was the chicken pot pie, followed by the beef stew next and then the shepherds pie but to be honest I would be thrilled to have any of the three as my entire meal. All of the meat was tender and the sauces/gravies had a lot of depth without feeling feeling unfamiliar. To top it off, we had mentioned to our waitress during our meal that we were in North Conway for a birthday celebration and at the end of our meal she brought over a huge piece of Bailey's Cheesecake, complete with her and a couple of waiters singing "Happy Birthday". The cheesecake had just the right amount of Baileys flavor with a nice crunchy graham cracker crust. It really topped off a fantastic meal in the most perfect way. We live a couple of hours away but whenever we're anywhere in the area we will definitely be back. Antiques and collectibles for all those who like them, they are the real deal not repros. My teen nieces liked the tiny vintage Christmas village made with trees made out of brush bristle. The lost art of serving authentic Irish pub food has been a transition in Ireland as many eateries become Europeanized you cannot find some dishes that are truly traditional and keepers. Coming here was anticipated for some good food. They have a varied menu so it is is not all Irish pub fair, burgers, salads, etc. A small business operated restaurant on the main road. Parking was easy. This was Wed. we were seated promptly, served promptly and no wait for our orders. Two ordered the fish and chips ($18) portion sizes were plenty. The fresh haddock was beer battered and good. The chip, (french fries) were good. Served in a deep bowl with chips on the bottom is not what I expected. The onion soups did not look the same as those photoed here. However, the soup was a hit. The mixed grill ($18) reportedly was disappointing. Trying a bite of a sausage that was hand rolled and then rolled in bread crumbs, it was uneatable and should not have come out of the kitchen. Something with way too much salt someone in the kitchen made a mistake, that can be the only conclusion? The mixed grill has some bangers, ok, and over cooked bacon, broiled tomato, blood pudding etc. The lighting is dark and was dimmed more half way through the meal which was quite dark for my comfort.We will come again anticipating better food, it could be better, on the chance this was an off night. read more
