It was pretty empty when we went around 1:30 and we didn't need to wait at all. Inside was pretty quiet as well. We noticed that the place seems like it got renovated; however, that's not all that changed. The prices of the crepes were so much more expensive than what we remembered. I ordered a smoked salmon crepe for $33. Don't think I've been so disappointed in a crepe before. The buckwheat crepe had a really bad chalky/gritty taste that stayed in my mouth long after the meal, even after drinking a lot of water. The texture of the crepe overpowered even the taste of the smoked salmon. For $33, there also wasn't a lot of smoked salmon inside the crepe, which is quite disappointing. Not sure if it's because we came for lunch instead of their breakfast menu; I feel like a shot for better food might be to come in the morning instead of in the afternoon.

There are so many places in the Village in Whistler to eat it was a hard choice, but we decided to…read moregive Peaked Pies a try for lunch. Others have said they aren't traditional Aussie pies and I get that if that is your expectation. I always try to appreciate the cafe for their take on the food items. Peaked Pies didn't disappoint. It is a small spot with just a few tables outside and a few tables inside. The eatery gets pretty busy so we felt lucky to get a table inside. They have a lot of choices and we settled on the ones we wanted to try. I went with the veggie pie and added the mushy style peas, mashed potatoes and gravy to the top. Mr. B decided on the Kangaroo pie after talking to the staff. He was a little leary of where the Kangaroo came from, but we were told there is a farm in British Columbia that raises them, so he wanted to try something he had never had. Please see the note below about the kangaroo. There is a correction. The pies came out and were quite large, but we must have been hungry and they were scrumptious we finished them off. Let's start with the veggie pie. It was filled with veggies, carrots, potatoes, onion, corn, celery and yams. The sauce is a coconut milk based sauce and was creamy. The Hopper, with ground kangaroo was lovely. The pie is filled with ground kangaroo, and I mean ground, it was fine meat and stuffed full with a Cabernet Merlot Balsamic Reduction that balanced the sweetness of the meat. The service was great, the staff was nice, and helpful. Great choice. NOTE: I received a correction from the owner of Peaked Pies after posting this review. The Kangaroo is not sourced from British Columbia as we were told. While the food was excellent this was disappointing to hear. Mr. B specifically asked where the kangaroo was sourced as he didn't want frozen and would have ordered something else. I wanted to let you all know I was wrong as we were given inaccurate information from the staff.

Peaked Pies in the Whistler Marketplace is an easy win if you're looking for something quick,…read morefilling, and seriously tasty. We tried a mix of savory and sweet Australian style pies -- chicken mushroom, steak bacon & cheese, steak & mushroom, plus the apple crumble and mixed berry pies -- and every single one hit. Flaky crust, hearty fillings, and packed with flavor across the board. All were FANTASTIC. We also wanted to try the kangaroo (The Hopper) and spinach & ricotta roll, but will need to return for those. The butter chicken and beef curry looked tempting, too. Extra hungry? Add a topping of mashed potatoes, mushed peas and gravy to your pie! Perfect spot to grab a warm meal after being out in the cold, or even just a quick bite while walking through the village. Simple, satisfying, and done right.
