Brian from Easy Air responded right away. He asked for pictures and after I sent them over, he knew exactly what the issue was. Brian asked me to call him and right away Brian started assisting me over the phone on how to fix the error message on my thermostat. Within minutes, both thermostats were fixed over the phone and we were able to sleep that night. Brian did not charge me for the time he spent on the phone guiding me, for which I'm so grateful. Fast forward to today, I scheduled a time for Brian to come check out our system since the air was not cool enough. He arrived promptly at 8am and was courteous enough to not ring the doorbell in case people were asleep. He came and looked at our HVAC system, diagnosed our issue, and gave us a fair price. Again he did not charge us for the assessment and diagnosis because he knew what we had been through was a lot (mold remediation). I called another company who tried to clear them and indicated it was impossible and that they would need to pull up hardscaping and replace the lines and quoted a 5-figure sum to do the work. I decided to get a second opinion and called Kevin at Kalka Plumbing. Kevin was incredibly honest and upfront from the start. He indicated that he should be able to clear the lines, but there may be sections that might have to be replaced but would do his best to at least clear the lines in the hardscaped areas. Kevin and his team were able to clear everything and did an excellent job cleaning up and leaving my back and front yard pristine (cleaner than when they started). Instead of pushing for the most expensive or invasive 'standard' fix, they saved me a significant amount of money and the results were exceptional. It is so rare to find a trade professional with this level of integrity and problem-solving skills. Terrible Experience - Avoid at all costs…read more Back in November 2025, our heater would not turn on so I called Kalka and they sent out a junior technician to look at the issue. He recommended to replace a motherboard since it was "fried" on the outside AC unit. Scheduling the next appointment was a nightmare. We had something in the books so my wife was at home waiting the entire day for the guy to show up but never arrived. No text.. no call..nothing. I had to personally call the company and let them know they never arrived, they apologized and scheduled me for the following week. He arrived with the part and installed it and the unit was still failing... he didn't know what was going on so they brought out the senior technician to take a look and the bigger issue lied within the furnace in my attic which was going to cost a few grand to fix. I agreed to get this fixed and was notified the part would arrive in about 3 months or so. So here I am in February excited to get some heating and air conditioning back in our home. I call the office and it turns out they never ordered the part...... I'm flabbergasted at this point because not only did they not order the part but they quoted me a few grand higher than the original estimate. I've wasted my time and money here. I've paid for a motherboard that didn't resolve anything and waited 3 months for nothing. If you're looking for HVAC service I would not recommend this company. We have a maintenance contract with Dial One Sonshine for our HVAC and water heater. They have…read morealways been good at calling for the regular maintenance and have been very thorough in their maintenance and noting any problems and letting us know. This time, inspecting the water heater (which is 11 years old), most things checked out as OK, but with their camera that goes into the tank, there was a lot of mineral deposits noted and those deposits are affecting the capacity and the ability to be effective. They said I should get a new water heater. It is still usable, but could go out anytime, and there could have problems in leaks. I was given the cost of replacing our heater. I had not planned on it, but in considering the likelihood of upcoming problems, decided to do so. They worked with me on the price, and it was installed the next day. The technicians who came out to check and do maintenance were James and Jesse. As I said, they were very thorough to check the heater, check the water flow throughout the house, and in their communications. I would have them come to my house again. The person who installed it was Allen and he installed it well, gave me all new needed attachments, and even after he was done, I asked him to do one more thing. Without hesitation he did that, which took another 20 minutes. He did everything right. I would have him come back if I needed something else installed. I am very pleased with Dial One Sunshine and with the people sent out to do their service calls and work. I recommend the company and those workers.

He turned it off and said he had to wait until it thawed. He cam back out the next day and said the unit they installed just 5 yrs ago obviously has a leak and could be diagnosed for leak, but that they suggest replacing the whole thing, cooler and heater for $18k!! Saying that even if diagnostics and repair of leak, there is no guarantee and may end up costing more. Another option, replace the cooling system only and not the heater, would be only $14k!! Upon further inquisition, and explaining, the unit they installed just 5 yrs ago is expected to last longer than 5 yrs, they tried explaining it's like a car, sometimes they last a long time and sometimes, they don't. But hello, they have lemon laws! They went on the further explain that they were under new ownership with new employees and all and that they had to replace the unit and at our cost, they would not keep warranty, saying that it was not under some California state regulations anymore. Then said they will talk with new owners and get back to us. We sent him on his way and got a second opinion first thing next day. With over 30 yrs experience, quickly identified the leak, and the problem was fixed in 10 minutes at a very minimal cost!! Turned on, working, blowing cold air! I will let you make your own assessment!
