Pizza could have been good....not great! But, it was under cooked to the point it was hard to judge the rest of the pie. So, it was a big miss. We try pizza in every town and state we visit, and northern Utah was no different. Maxwell's needs to work on their oven and customer service. The dough could have been really good but it was under cooked, no surprise that the cook was in a hurry because Maxwell's staff seems to be in a hurry to not serve customers in many ways. We came on Saturday night at 8:36pm and they refused to seat us even though they closed at 9:pm?? We wanted the pizza and made a special trip back to give them another chance on Sunday. We arrived at 8:00pm this time and received a table. We watched as a group of 4 after us was turned away at 8:07pm?? The restaurant then left is in the dark on the patio - as we were the last patrons eating - now - 8:45. When we asked the server about it, she claimed there were no outdoor lights and didn't know what we were referring to. No, there was clearly lighting turned off because we could see our food and with the flip of a switch, we couldn't. The server was as nice as she could be--we felt badly for her. Thought it was so nice, we went there twice! As New Yorkers we think we know from our pizza so take our word for it, this is some really good stuff. The crust is thin, the cheese is tasty and the toppings plentiful but not overwhelming. We looooved the mussels, that is a must-do. Cesar salad was tasty and not overdressed, which I appreciate. The meatball was yummy, would go back to the mussels and skip this the next time. Big Guy agrees, which tells you how much he liked those mussels! Little Guy got mac 'n cheese on our first visit, which was cheesy penne and he liked but didn't love it. Chicken parm for kids is a HUGE portion, Little Guy loved it. (Big Guy's fork wandered over to that plate more than a few times!) Bloody Mary bar is clever and tasty too. Service was really good the first time, only okay the second. read more

Every time I'm in Park City I end up having FatKid Pizza. There are always a minimum of ten people in the condo that I stay at, and it is a quick, easy, tasty meal to 3-4 pizzas and share. Pizzas are all New York style, so they are 20" and thin-crust. The "UNTOUCHABLES" (pepperoncinis, bell peppers, jalapeno, Italian sausage) is a favorite - I can only have about one slice at a time because it is a tad spicy for me, but if you're a fan of spicy food, you'll definitely like it. "MY BLUE HEAVEN" (buffalo hot sauce, chicken, blue cheese crumbles) is also delicious, and it truly is heaven on a pizza for my boyfriend who loves buffalo wings. I can eat about two slices of this, but again, it is a bit spicy so not much more. Also, the flavor, while super yummy, does get kind of old after two slices. It's basically buffalo wings in pizza form (there is no marinara), so unless you really love buffalo wings, you'll probably want something else to even out your palette. I ordered marinara sauce to dip the crust in to break up the constant buffalo flavor, so that worked. I usually end up eating the "GODFATHER" (mozarella, provolone, ricotta, goat cheese, sundried tomatoes) the most when we order. It is pretty mild in flavor, but the goat cheese and sundried tomatoes add the perfect amount of "kick." (Don't the two make the most perfect pairing ever?!?) The last time I was in PC, we actually went to dine inside. Service was prompt. It was a bit dark inside, which made it hard to read the menu. The website says it is a great place for a "romantic dinner" but I would argue otherwise - its more a great place for a get-together with friends. It is too loud and busy to really make for a good intimate setting. There are TV's everywhere so it is perfect for sports watching. I ordered the ARUGULA SALAD (arugula, hearts of palm, roasted beets, goat cheese, lemon-infused olive oil dressing) - sooo good. It is definitely a memorable salad, and I am going to try to recreate it myself because I want more!! It is light in flavor and moderately filling, and the combination of flavors goes together beautifully. I tried a bite of Spinach salad, which was also very good, and seems to be more filling than the Arugula, and probably can be eaten as a meal. Someone else ordered the Caesar, which they use whole leaves of lettuce for, so you have to cut it to eat it. It was generous on Parmesan, but skimped a bit on the dressing. I wasn't impressed. The Arugula salad was the best one out of all of them. Overall, I would recommend Maxwell's to those who want to have a quick take-out dinner that is more "gourmet" than Domino's. I would also recommend it as a place to hang with friends or have a hearty, casual dinner. The park city location is fantastic. Great service, great atmosphere and you receive your order quickly. The location is kind of hard to find but, if you park in front of cafe rio or best buy, it is kiddie corner to those two and then you'll find it. Went here around 11:30am on a Monday. It was pretty empty and my group of 3 was able to get a massive booth that could probably fit 6-8 people. Our waitress was super nice and brought us everything we needed super quickly. My only complaints was That it was uncomfortably chilly and the pizza was warm but was cold within a minute or two. There's no super close and easy parking though. Overall pretty good place. read more

We were looking to eat somewhere unique. We saw the sign that this had been on Guy Fieri show. We went about 1:40 and no one there to greet us. We waited and they said they were cleaning a table. Even tho it was empty. It wasn't very clean and the service was SO SLOW. And we were so nice and patient. While the waitress was nice and the food wasn't bad, we waited 30 minutes for a dessert after telling her we had to leave and wanted it to go. It just baffled me on the service. I think it was a server issue of not immediately putting in the order. Or they collectively don't care bc they get business. While visiting Park City for a sports tournament our teams coach contacted the manager of Maxwells to make a reservation for a team party. We liked the option of eating outside, playing cornhole and enjoying team bonding time. Our coach was told they do not take reservations and that we would should just show up and they would take care of us. Upon arriving we were put in the restaurant next door and told we could not sit outside. Then they told us that they could not handle the number of people that would be arriving. Not everyone was there and we knew they would trickle in so we agreed with them they could start taking orders from those already there then take orders from others as they arrived. After taking several orders they stopped and again told us they couldn't help us so there was a pause in orders. Then they started taking orders again. We were not in a hurry and we were not trying to put any pressure on them. The management seemed to not know how to handle the situation and had trouble adjusting and problem solving. The bartender was HORRIBLY rude. The way he talked to several of our parents was completely unacceptable. He flat out ignored a couple of them. After on parent placed an order he took forever to fill it, but took time with other familiar customers and drank with them BEFORE filling the drink order. The food was good, our server Patty was AMAZING she rolled with everything going on. We've been in restaurants before as a large group and never had a problem. We know there is a lot of us and it's going to take time. The customer service from management was horrible and could have been avoided if the manager from the night before had communicated we would be arriving. They failed to listen to us upon our arrival. Had they chosen to listen and work with us everything would have moved smoothly and this review would be taking a completely different tone. read more

My husband & I live in Park City & have for a while now. We always have loved the service, food & staff until this evening where we both were harassed, belittled & treated like we were the worst people on this planet. It was a female bartender whom we gave our non-alcoholic drink order to, & she mumbled under her breath , "I'm soo thrilled". My husband said she was probably irritated at the fact we didn't order alcohol. Though you don't have to order alcohol to sit at the bar. The harassment continued by her yelling at me for asking for a side of bread & told me I was "out of line & I should have waited until she asked if we needed anything first ". If asking for a side of bread is out of line... Then honey you need to find a different job. Next, she picked up a menu & threw it at me. As my husband & I sat there with our mouths open she came back & yelled " maybe if you weren't __ age then we wouldn't have this problem" As if I was supposed to know what that meant?? We immediately got up from the bar and went to talk to the manager.. As he did nothing about us being verbally attacked. He simply apologized & stated, " I'm very sorry & hopefully this won't happen again". Needless to say... I come from a large family here in Park City, & no one that I personally know will be ever coming back to this establishment. I generally suggest everyone to try out their famous pizza's, but since I tried their MEGA Green salad served with Kael, pickled beets, roasted pine nuts and chicken topped with a blue cheese vinaigrette I can't help but going back for more. Hands down this place will keep your taste buds wanting more. The only reason I don't give this place five stars is due to the service or lack of service. Excellent and solid. We're not an easy group - 13 of us total of kids and adults. Maxwells took great care of us and we're extremely accommodating. The food was fab - fat kid pizza is a MUST! Maxwells is a solid three star. I had such high hopes after seeing D, D & D but I've been to the one in SLC and Park City and have left underwhelmed each time. Their bruschetta and fries are nearing five stars, but their food is only average. Service is average as well. We waited a while for our server and then later our server stood at the table next to us and chatted with his friends for over five minutes while we waited for our food. It would have been impossible to get drink refills, glad we drank water. I probably won't be back. read more

Even though it says they close at 9 PM on Saturday they stop taking orders for takeout at 8:15 PM. They also stop seating at 8:15 PM. We came for dinner last week in which the hostess could only find an outdoor table or a table for two (we were a party of three)...I refused both choices and was walking out when we came across the manager, Lawrence who stepped in and found a great inside booth for us to enjoyed a great meal....Lawrence went above and beyond finding us a great booth and he send over an amazing appetizer on the house for us to enjoy.....we loved the pizza which was great value as well as amazing taste....Lawrence came over to make sure we were happy with our servers and our food....thanks for the great meal and service... we will come back again but ask for Lawrence if the hostess is not willing to help you with special needs read more

We did need it split and would have ordered more, but apparently she was done with us 4. We ordered a full pizza. She came with a slice and then implied it was our fault she messed up. 5. My two star review is for to go/pick up orders only. I was in a rush so I didn't have time to sit down for a full meal. I called about 10 minutes before arriving and ordered the wings and hummus the lady on the phone said it would take about 20 to 25 minutes. First I thought well that seems pretty long for just two appetizers but whatever I'll be there in 10 minutes. When I arrived there are four people at the front desk and only one person looked up and said hello. She did run back and quickly grab my order which was already ready within that 10 minute time. I'm giving it 3 stars simply because the first person told me my order would take 25 minutes (it didn't) and secondly only one person out of four looked up and said hi.
