Not a bad option for dinner if you're looking for pizza or pasta. We came for the pizza and ordered two half-and-half splits--half Italian Stallion, half Pepperoni and Sausage with jalapeños, half Godfather with ham added and half Untouchables. Pizzas here are huge and only one size. No plates unless you order a side salad. House salad was impressive--reasonably large for a side salad and it was mostly Spinach, cucumbers, olives and croutons. The strawberry vinaigrette was tasty. The pizza was good. Not the best I've ever had but the guys I was with really liked it. The restaurant has a long bar and several tvs with live sports and seems to be a pretty happening place. read more

I do not recommend this restaurant! I have been a customer for 10 + years, but I will not go back! I booked a party of 35 people, 4 weeks in advance. I called 5 days before to confirm and they said they did not have my reservation. They did however charge my credit card $200 when I made the original reservation! We requested the patio-which we got and it was absolutely disgustingly dirty!! You could also see into the back of the restaurant where they had piled up garbage! Tables and chairs were broken and umbrellas rusted. Windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. My husband and son ordered the pepperoni, sausage and red peppers pizza. They loved it. You can order by the slice too! Waitress was terrible. So awkward, forgot everything we asked her. We waited ONE HOUR for our food to come out, and only half of the order came out. I have to say I been going to Maxwells for years and do know the owner but have not seen him in a while. But I was there last night and have never had better service from any restaurant. The server was fairly new and my group knew the menu by heart which helped. However not only was he extremely prompt with the food and drinks but completely engaged in our needs. I would like to give a shout out to this individual but unfortunately did not get his his name in the exuberance of group and enjoyment. The food is amazing pizza wings and of course cheese steaks. Maxwell's is a pizza joint and bar in the Newpark Town Center right off I-80 in north Park City. The building feels new and modern, though my food experience was really poor. It started when we walked in. The hostess took a full 10 minutes to seat us, as she was on the phone with a complicated take out order. Half a dozen staff members walked by us and it would've taken them 30 seconds to help the hostess by taking the call or lead us to one of the dozens of empty tables. Once seated (at 2:30pm on a Sunday no less), I noticed that our comfy booth was completely covered in crumbs and pizza grease; truly disgusting. I ordered the melon and arugula salad, which sounded really good on paper, but the salad was dressed with a lemon vinaigrette, which was the most sour and acidic salad dressing I've ever tasted. It destroyed an otherwise acceptable salad. My party ordered boneless wings, which were actually pretty good. The namesake pizza was thick and insipid: like eating a dry, undercooked ball of bread, with canned vegetables. The poor service continued with our waiter, as it took ages to get refills on water or soda. I guess this is an alright place to drink low-alcohol Utah beer and snack on wings, but otherwise you should look elsewhere. read more

I have been getting curbside takeout from maxwells for the past three months. Every time I've gone whether it is a busy weekend or weekday they have been nothing but kind and efficient with my orders. They tell me the time it will take to get the pizza and every-time I pull up to the curb they have it out to me within 5 minutes, always hot. We come here almost once a week. Honestly the summer service is beyond lacking - usually we wait about 30 min between being seated and anyone asking about drinks. We know this but continue to come because the food is well priced and good. Winter service is always great, especially if you can get Tilly as a server. Being summer we expected the service to be slow. However what we didn't expect was the extremely rude hostesses. There were three of them and each one had a sour face and a rude attitude. I have been coming here for 10+ years and today will be the last time I ever come. Here is an example of the service you will get. Tonight, we were one of two groups seated at bar: 1. Drinks had to be asked for several times 2. Took 45 minutes for wings to come out - they were cold 3. Half of our Pizza order came out 15 minutes later. They gave the other half of our pizza slices fo a different group seated at the bar because the food runner was confused 4. silverware and napkins had to be asked for 5. we had to retrieve our own parmesan and peppers because the bartender was no where to be found 6. no one ever asked if we wanted a check. 7. They snuck in a little $0.50 charge for blu cheese when no one even requested blu cheese. Dont waste your time or money. This place is a disgrace. This is a rare occasion I find myself in when I think about Maxwell's as the local Park City pizza joint and just how many stars it deserves. For me, to give a pizza place 5 stars means they really have got something exceptional. That they are clearly a cut above the rest and have proven that pizza that isn't deep dish, can be, indeed, still delicious. Mind you, I was never really the biggest fan of New York pizza even the few times I've had it. I mean, it's good ... but it's still pizza. Until Maxwell's changed my mind. We came here on our last night in Park City because cooking just got tiring and I think we all just wanted some 3.2% beer to wash down the Niners loss ... so Yelp it goes for the best rated place in Park City and we found ourselves at the snowy doorstep of Maxwell's. We made a reservation in advance by about an hour so did not have to wait at all and were promptly seated when we arrived. The waitress put down some menu's and let us have it. Their pizzas are phenomenal. And yes, 6 people can kill two 20 inch pizzas plus 2 pastas if they really tried! The pizzas came out hot, full of flavor and ingredients, loaded with sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The crust was delightfully NOT crunchy and hard like a brick, or burnt at all but cooked perfectly to a golden brown with that chewy dough-like flavor that makes for a great crust. The vegetarian choices were actually, in my opinion, better than their meat loaded pizzas which is a huge thumbs up for the combination of flavors and ingredients they used in the pizza. But let's not forget ... they also make pasta. By they make pasta I mean ... they make it fresh in house every day! You can order a variety of different fresh made pastas with an even more variety of different sauces with toppings as well all at very reasonable prices. The fettucini with marinara was out of this world! It was so incredibly simple and yet so deliciously fresh and flavorful. If Italian tasted like this back home, I'd be fat! I can't say more about how amazing this place is, and how it's changed my mind about New York style pizzas. I'd come back to Park City just for Maxwell's. It was that awesome. read more

We heard from a couple people, one Uber driver and a bartender, that Maxwell's has the best pizza in Park City. We only tried two pizza places, so I can't confidently say that, but it was a good pie. The menu has some interesting specialty pizzas, too. We ordered a pizza that was half Margherita and half of another specialty that has sausage, pepperoni, and chicken (which we subbed out for mushrooms instead). Our server was really accommodating in allowing us to make special requests. Service was decent, and the place was decently busy as the college football championship was on. The atmosphere was of a slightly upscale sports bar, and you know the food is fresh, because the kitchen has windows, so you can watch them hand-toss your dough. Prices were about what I expected. Somewhere between the Whiz running down my chin and the tears running down my face from the Banana Peppers on my Philly, I realized this is as close to food heaven as a guy can get. It's not the only place you can get that close, but it's definitely on the short list. I have hit this location several times in the last month and found them to be spot on with every bit of food we have ordered. From the calamari appetizer, the $3 slice (that is huge), the chicken parm (also too much to eat), all the way back to the Philly... they've got it dialed in. This spot in Park City has a great patio with some decent people watching. The inside is bigger than it looks and while they can pack the people in, it never feels crowded. Crowds of any size are welcome... booths that hold several people to a large bar where you can go solo, they can handle your party. Only one, teeny thing bugs me at this location. At the hostess station they have a tip jar. It professes good Karma if I put some cash in it. I'm not sure why I tip the person walking me to a table but hey, maybe it's similar to throwing coins in the fountain at the Chinese restaurant? But if that is the only gripe, I am bound to be back for another Philly. read more

This place was recommended to us by a local -- said she loved the place. When she said they have great spaghetti, I was sold. You see, I am on a mission to find the best spaghetti with meatballs and chicken parmigiana. Two of my favorite Italian dishes of all time. So no matter what else is on the menu - pizza and cheesesteak sandwiches included - I am going for the spaghetti or the parm. We ordered the spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatball. Only one meatball is needed - trust me - it is about 8 oz of super yummy meatball goodness. The spaghetti was a little soft - but nothing to seriously gripe about because the flavor in the marinara and meatball we so good. We also tried the chicken parmigiana which comes served with a 1/2 portion of fettucini noodles & marinara. The breaking on the chicken had a very subtle sweet flavor to it that was unexpected -- yet very good. Chicken breast was thick & juicy - not too thin or dried out at all. Next time, though, I will probably ask for penne or just spaghetti instead of the fettucini -- that is just a personal preference I have. Their caprese salad is also worth trying. The mozz is super fresh and the balsamic is out of this world. Tomatoes were fresh and sliced thin - with the bonus of green tomato slices. If you enjoy wine, try their house red which is a Sangiovese. Highly recommended. Our server - Lee - was great. He could tell that we were not in a hurry and really wanted to relax and enjoy our dinner. He obliged. Checking on us for drink refills and such, but not hovering. Perfect. I posted pictures of our entrees - hope they are helpful to you. Definitely try this place if you find yourself in Park City. It is definitely worth it. Had a FABULOUS meal here the other night. As always, a casual yet upbeat ambiance, complete with mood lighting and multiple sports-playing TVs, complimented the casual dress. Our food at Maxwell's was very good. Our table started with the Caesar salad, which was tasty but was drenched in dressing. I'd recommend it, but get the dressing on the side if you prefer it on the lighter side. The hummus appetizer was good: the crusty bread to dip in the hummus was a hit, whereas the actual hummus was ok. But the real winner was the pizza. Served on singular pieces of branded wax paper, the pizza was both crusty on the bottom and oh so fluffy on the crust. We ordered the pizza with peppers, jalapeños, and sausage, and it was packed full of flavor and spice. On top of that, the pizza was 20", meaning even 4 adults couldn't finish it. Leftovers anyone! If you don't want a full pizza, they also sell pizza by the slice (even at dinner). Yum. If you want some great 'za to watch a game, this is your place. read more

I've been to Maxwell's twice. The first time was with a LARGE group of coworkers. They couldn't accommodate such a big group (20 or so) so they told us we could only order pizza pie's and any drinks would have to be bought at the bar. I thought this was lame but their pizza ended up being very tasty. Their plain pizza was my favorite that day. The buffalo chicken pizza was WAY TOO SPICY for me so I didn't like that. Today I went in for a late lunch around 4:00pm. The place seemed dead, there were barely any people there and the waitstaff seemed to be standing around talking or doing nothing. We were seated promptly to a semi dirty booth. I had to wipe crumbs off the seating part of the table. There also appeared to be permanent stains on the seat which appeared gross. My boyfriend and I shared a Boneless Wing Zings (BBQ flavored, which were still a tad spicy but good) and I got two slices of plain pizza and he got two slices of mushroom pizza. I was very impressed with the Wing Zings. They were very tasty. Better quality then Applebee's boneless chicken wings. The pizza was not as good as the first time I had gotten it. It seemed burnt. I ate it anyway because I asked for extra blue cheese and put a ton of parmesan cheese on it. That seemed to help. On the positive side the slices were huge! Defiantly worth the $3 a piece if they weren't burnt. Since it was not busy in there at all I was a little disappointed my waitress didn't refill my drink until I was done with my meal. That seemed to be a waste of product. Overall I would say this was an ok place to stop for a quick bite to eat. We were in and out in less then an hour. I don't live in Park City so when I go up there I like to be choosy about what I eat. I probably won't be stopping here again anytime soon unless it's for a quick (hopefully not burnt) slice of pizza. read more

WHAT THE ..........????? I would have loved to eat here and give a decent review, but the bartender was too busy talking sports with 3 guys at the bar to wait on me. And there was only 5 of us AT the bar. As I often say, I never know how I will be treated as a mature gal sitting at the bar alone. Well, at Maxwell's I'm invisible. Horrible. We have lived here for 12 years and have often got good pizza, service and pizza slices. If you ask for a slice of pizza they give you a cold slice of cheese or pepperoni, put raw vegetables on it and claim to flash eat it. And cold and not edible and managed was rude and condescending. Outside patio trashed with trash with children hanging from the umbrellas. Cross this off your list. It's too bad. It was a good locals staple for so long. read more

We were seated right away but then waited 20 minutes while we watched 2 servers wait on the tables next to us and completely ignore us. After 20 minutes I went back to the hostess and ask if someone could take our order. Another 5 minutes later one of the servers that previously ignored us stopped and asked "are you ready to order?" No apology or anything. We ordered the Donnie brasco pizza which was pretty good but I think they forgot to put the Alfredo on it. Went here for dinner tonight.... It was Good... Solid 3 stars. There was a bit of a wait at 7:45pm but not bad considering it was a Friday night... I think we waited about 30 minutes. (I had made reservations / called ahead for a 7:30pm res. but we got a little turned around so didn't make it til 7:45pm.) Ambiance: 3 stars .... FUN... lots of TVs around showing sports BUT we asked them to change the 1 of the smaller TVs facing our booth and they said Ok... and then didn't. They should have just said that they didn't get the channel or that it was a pre-set channel that couldn't change rather than tell us 'ok' and then not do it. Service: 3 stars ..... Servers were pretty good. Our water guy tried to keep up with our dehydration but there were a couple of times that we had a couple empty glasses for a bit of time. No big... but why not just give us pitcher when you see how thirsty we are? Our waitress was a bit 'harried' but that's cuz she was slammed and had lots of tables to oversee. It did take them a while to get the salads and appetizers out... I think we waited 30 minutes... but we had a good time entertaining ourselves so we didn't notice 'too much'. Menu Selection: 3 stars .... Italian... it was a good selection of pastas and pizzas... nothing really jumped out ... EXCEPT for the Chef's Ravioli's of the day... Spinach/Red Pepper.... I didn't order it but I did try it off a friend's plate very tasty but the ravioli pasta was a bit too thick and gummy for my liking. The pizzas looked amazing but we didn't order one. I had the linguine with meat sauce and a meatball...... it was a huge portion! easily sharable.... I was disappointed in the meatball as it was mushy and didn't really taste like meat... the sauce was 'ok'.... it needed more garlic and seasoning for my liking.... it was just too tomato-ee. The husband had the lasagna and it didn't really look all that good and he said it was just 'alright'. So, I guess.... lesson learned... order the pizza. Desserts: my group wanted to order a dessert but was told they were out of tiramisu and creme brulee and then 5 minutes later... we were told they were out of the cheesecake which we were eyeing.... which left a cookie dessert and a 'sundae' (vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce - no big whoop) on the menu. Looks like the economy has taken its toll on Maxwell's. What used to be a huge pie, worth the price,is now no bigger than a large Papa John's. It's still tasty but at $21, I'll go with PJ's for $10 if I'm doing delivery. Same goes for the chopped salad. It barely fed the 2 of us - $11 for lettuce and a few blue cheese crumbles? No thanks. We were staying at the Newpark Hotel and were happy to find that this place was just downstairs. We went in with a group of 6, waited 15 minutes, and then were seated. They have plenty of TV's showing every game that's on, so it makes a great place to watch a game. The pizza seemed like the easiest thing to quickly order for all of us, so we went ahead and ordered an Italian Stallion (chicken, sausage, pepperoni), and a pepperoni and olive pizza. The food didn't take too long to come out, but the pepperoni pizza was missing it's olives. Our waiter quickly brought out a side of olives and we began eating. Both pizzas were great. The sauce was sweet and the cheese was perfect. Between the 6 of us we quickly ate up the pizza that we had. The atmosphere was nice and dark. The place is loud, so you and your friends will just have to talk louder. Service was good overall, sometimes a little slow. The price was decent and came out to about $60 for 6 of us to have 2 pizzas, a couple side salads, and a couple sodas. I am always skeptical about claims of "authentic" NYC pizza outside NY. Big, floppy slices do not equal NYC pizza; it's the marriage of crust, sauce, cheese, etc. that's uniquely New York. But Maxwell's does a fine job. It reminds of more of the slice joints by MSG than some of the legendary pies, but that's OK. Though their alternate claim of an authentic Philly Cheesesteak will have to be investigated another day. But if they offer Whiz & Amoroso's, it sounds promising. (Hope they're not in the style of Pat's/Geno's tourist crap.) (Edit: It's a B- cheesesteak, bread was overtoasted and not nearly enough cheese, didn't come together at all.
