Gotta give it up, for sure 5 stars from me. They have helped so so much with my Grandsons speech and it has helped him with his patients. This review is based on the waiting room in pediatrics. The rug is always filthy. Nebver once have I seen it clean even on a 9am Saturday appointment. Smashed crackers and other food always covering it. I think there need to be a no food rule for the room with the tv. Maybe out in the hall on the tile only. I also think there should be a rule for no playing loud devices on the room with the tv. Rude parents had there child a iphone on youtube full blast and parents do that themselves too. If you want to do that, it should be out of the building or use headphones. When people are doing that, then they all start yellimg over each other. It is unpleasant even more so for children with ASD. Something else I also witness a lot is people using the waiting room as a space for them to do ABA for a couple of hours. Spread out on half the floor space are games, token chart, note pads. This is not an appropriate space when familys need the space to wait on their loved ones receiving services. Parents of clients treat this place with little to no respect. The office needs to place some rules for the waiting room and maybe start discharging the parents who dont have respect for the office. There is a line of people who would love to be here and wouldnt treat it like romper room or utilize the time as a loud hang out and let their other children go wild. Therapists and scheduling are 5 star but something serious needs to be done when it comes to this waiting room! Also parents having speaker phone conversations and takimg video/ photo in waiting room. Seems like a violation of privacy. This is not outside in public. Hipa maybe? I dont know. Either way my kids are receiving services and it seems highly inappropriate. read more

While visiting in CA for three weeks I was directed to Maxum, and it made a huge difference to the quality of my stay there. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis and a number of soft tissue and muscular issues. Everyone there was very professional and very nice, they all seem to really love their jobs. I worked closely with Bryan Hoppe which was a life changing experience for me. He incorporates the whole mind, body, and spirit connection which is very refreshing in a world that relies so much on pharmaceuticals. If any of you struggle with fibromyalgia you need Bryans myofascial release techniques. Maxum's staff has a beneficial combination of traditional and forward thinking practices. This is a great place!!! The front office person is very nice and polite. All of the therapists are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I have a bad ankle injury and they have been extremely helpful in giving me great exercises to do, so I can get my strength back. Also, helping me to realize a lot of my pain stemmed from tight muscles. Another bonus, the place is very clean, organized and hygenic! The last place I went to was a slum compared to Maxum. I came to Bryan with an ongoing pain in my foot and leg, and have received relief beyond anything I could have expected. Previously I knew physical therapists to focus on one area, and build the muscle group to support it. That's it. However, Bryan's approach is holistic and he incorporates the whole body. It's all connected, and he even fuses some emotional aspects, too. My body feels better all over. Through continued treatment I am hopeful for even greater relief. read more

Today, I had the periodical assessment meeting with the supervisor who had a completely unlogic approach with me regarding my son's progress.. It was really non-professional and even offensive that it ended up on me requesting to discharge my son for manipulations done by his speech therapist that I prefer to address to my insurance provider ONLY. . This place is working only on justifying and defending their employees against any complaint addressed by the parents.... They sacrifice the rights of special-need children in getting a human-quality of life just to justify their employees mistakes and claim that they are working for child's benefit... Definitely such an absolute protective management style will result in non-committed employees behavior... The last session with my son started 10 minutes late because the speech therapist was SLEEPING !!!!! And she admitted she is suffering a jet-lag..... Even the quality of session was horrible but, AS EXPECTED, she mentioned that it is my son who was bad on that day.... read more

So I have had the best experience at MaXum Therapy. And I have a lot of experience with going to physical therapy. With have 3 ACL and meniscus reconstructive surgeries I was very nervous going back into therapy. But I was place with by far the best physical therapist you could ever come across. And that's Bryan Hoppe, he went above a beyond any other PT I have worked with. Because have a history of knee surgeries he knew it wasn't just going that to be a physical thing with me it was more of a mental thing. He really put his all into my recovery and I can't be more thankful for what he did for me. I was finally blessed with a physical therapist that not only knew what he was doing but wanted the best for me to get better and not just put me through routine work outs and collect checks. It was my first physical therapy appointment for my back & foot pain. The doctor made me do stretches to kind of pinpoint what was causing the pain. Literally in about 10 min of stretches my pain was almost gone. He gave me a certain stretch that would decrease pain & it's been about a week since I've seen him & the stretches are amazing. The staff is great! I got something called kaniseo tape (I think that is how it is spelled) and it worked really well. The facility was really nice and clean too!! Oh! And this is really cool, they have a pediatric side! They offer occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. I was super amazed by that. Oh and for the adults they also have pool therapy as a form of physical therapy. Great place. read more

I brought in my daughter for hip and ankle pain that was caused by a sport injury. We went for about 6/7 weeks once a week. The whole staff was great! Sympathetic, friendly and helpful. Great facility with flexible hours for kids who are in school. Everyone here is friendly and professional. I like that they call me when a space for an appointment is open. They also call and text to remind me of appointments. The director has been responsive and accommodating when we made a special request. The place is so great my daughter no longer needs therapy. My 12 year old son tweaked his knee shooting baskets, his knee was bothering him on the inside part of the knee. Checking different various medical sources I was concerned that he may have injured his MCL. Not knowing how bad his injury was, and now later in the day after business hours on the "Presidents Day" Holiday. I had him Ice his knee,elevate it, and take a pain reliever for swelling, discomfort, etc. Immediately I knew that I needed an educated & professional opinion, not knowing how severe the injury was, only knowing my son was in pain & not able to move around & get to school. Over the years I had gone to a Physical Therapist, who had helped me with my various sports injuries, as well as my older daughter when she was active in softball, basketball & soccer. I sent a text message to Bryan Hoppe, physical therapist at Maxum Physical Therapy in Placentia Ca, explaining my son's injury & asking him if it was possible if he could check him, so I would be able to determine the severity of the injury & a course of action for my son. Bryan made time during the noon hour to look at him. As it turned out my son, fresh off a big growth spurt, who was juggling Basketball & Baseball had aggravated his knee because of the weakening of three different muscle areas in & around his knee. This caused him to favor it, & weaken it to the point, that his body was yelling at him to stop & cease activities. His many, various, activities as a result of running on a gym floor, running outside on blacktop,concrete & then running & playing out on the grass & dirt of the baseball field had taken its toll. The best news was after Bryan tested his knee, he did not hurt his MCL & with his recommendation of a set exercise's for my son, he will be be able to improve & hopefully not incur another similar set back in the future. I trust Bryan's opinion over several of the various doctor's that I have seen over the years for athletic injuries. I have been going to Maxum Therapy off and on for a couple of years now. I have had both neck and Shoulder surgery and my Dr. sent me to this facility. I have found the staff to be professional and top notch. Bryan H. has been the therapist that has worked on both my shoulder and neck and has made a positive impact on my condition. He is able to determine, sometimes to my amazement, exactly where I am hurting and and what exercises are needed to relieve the pain. I came to MaXum Therapy for about three visits due to a wrist and shoulder issue. My first visit was sometime in November or December, but I had not written a review until now because I have been busy. The first therapist a saw was very knowledgeable and her concern regarding my issue seemed genuine so I initially thought I was in very good hands when I first came here. The first visit was mainly just a diagnostic check up to determine the current condition of my wrist and shoulder (testing strength, range of motion, etc.). On my second and third visits I was assigned to a different therapist who just didn't seem as concerned or empathetic as the first. As a patient, it is very frustrating to have to explain your current situation to multiple providers because you have to make sure you provide ALL details. In my previous experience working with physical therapists, I have always been assigned to a single provider who understands my personal circumstances and needs, then recommends a specific set of exercises, stretches, and massages that will ultimately alleviate my symptoms. This routine builds a patient-provider relationship that was not evident at this practice. The second therapist was apathetic and showed no interest in my recovery. He would think of exercises on the spot (it was obvious that he did not prepare a set of exercises for me and was choose exercises off the top of his head that involved the wrist and shoulder) and after he provided instructions, he would either leave me on my own, or pay attention to something else. In the end, it didn't seem like they really cared about me, only about the potential profit they could make off of me from my repeated visits. After my third visit, I did not schedule any more appointments. They began calling me to schedule my next appointment, but I blamed it on school saying that my schedule was getting busy. In reality, I discontinued my weekly appointments because they seemed like a waste of time. I understand that I had only come in for three visits and that is nearly not enough time to show significant progress in recovery, but I just couldn't see myself improving several months down the line based on my experience in the first three weeks. read more

I noticed that this place has mostly reviews for their PT side of business. However, this location provides an immense amount of ST and OT to young children, many with special needs like my own child. My overall experience with this place is generally negative with the exception of some particularly great staff members. Most of the therapists and front office staff are very nice and a pleasure to deal with, but the way the business is run is not. There is a huge lack of consistency in therapy as this place is extremely impacted, serving more cases than their facility can accommodate properly. My child has never had the consistency we have seen other places (i.e. - same therapist, same times and days each week). Which by the way is a consistency that is much needed for children like my own and contributes greatly to their overall success with the therapy. Scheduling therapy is really based upon the therapists' availabilities and not your own, it seems like they have a lot of staff that are still in school and work their to fulfill whatever hours or experience they need to get their degrees. Scheduling is done on a month to month basis, as they have to wait to see which therapists are available to be scheduled at what times each month. Sometimes the schedule for the next month is not even available until the last day of the previous month. Because you can't guarantee any consistency in your child's therapies it makes it very hard to make any other future plans in your personal schedule. Their cancellation policy is a bit ridiculous. I understand why they have it but they are very strict about it and if you cancel 3x in a 3 month period, you will have to speak to the director to see if your child can still continue therapy there. First cancellation, they will let slide, second cancellation, any scheduled therapies will be taken off the schedule and you will have to call on a week to week basis to see what is available to your child, then third your child may be terminated from services there. In about 2 years of my child attending therapy here I have seen very little improvement that I can accredit to this facility and the main reason is because of the inconsistency. A lot of the therapists are great, some in particular for ST - Andrea & Heather. I am deeply considering having my child's therapy changed to a new provider as I know there are other providers that can give the consistency that MaXum is lacking. If you take your child here, make sure you are very vocal about what their needs are regarding scheduling, but even then your child just might not get all the therapy sessions they are supposed to because they can't offer you the days and times you need with the person that works well with your child. read more

I've been working with the best physical therapy team at Maxum Therapy! Angela has helped me immensely (see my previous review of her), but I also need to mention Tori and Sid. These two alternate in helping me with exercises and stretches assigned by Angela. They are professional and personable - qualities I've experience at other places, but not both at the same time! It's obvious how knowledgeable Tori is about the human body and how it works. When I tell her something hurts or pinches, she knows exactly why and helps me do the exercise or stretch properly to get the most out of it. In the same way, Sid knows his stuff. He has a great sense of humor and always encourages me. At times, I've had the pleasure of Jackie making sure I'm doing my program correctly, and she, too, is wonderful. I can't say enough about this team of Angela, Tori, Sid and Jackie. They make me look forward to physical therapy! read more

My son was evaluated recently and we were told that he should receive services, however they do not offer the ability to schedule with the same therapist each session and they switch halfway through the session from the therapist to an aide. How can progress truly be measured if no one sees him more than once? How can he work on his goal of building relationships if he is only afforded 30 mins at a time with a stranger, never to see them again? How can he be expected to take risks and trust his therapists if he has just met them and there is no foundation?! Truly ridiculous to expect a child to go through such change in therapist even mid session!! That would be like changing his classroom teacher every day or changing his pediatrician every appointment- no continuity of care at all and extremely counter productive. If MaXum has the child's best interest in mind they would revamp their scheduling program to offer regular recurring appointments at the same day and time each week with the same person, and would do away with the aide all together. read more

I have been to Maxum Therapy to seen Bryan H. a number of times over the last few years. He has helped me with my back and my shoulder. I have always been very active running and lifting in the gym. I have been to a number of physical therapists in my life and he is by far the best. He is able to resolve the pain at the time of my visit and work with me to find exercises to help solve the issue for the future.
