From as early as I remember when I was a kid, to the present, one thing I can always say about Max's is its consistency. If you ordered fried chicken, it would taste as great as when I was a kid, to how it would taste these days. You can be sure that the quality is maintained through the years with any or all the items in their menu. Service is always top-tier. You are in the Philippines, and service is always very important in this country. The personnel are always in smiles and will go through everything to provide for your satisfaction. The price has always been reasonable. And coupled with value meals with prices that can't be beat, what more can anyone ask for? I've loved this place when I was little, I love it now and I and my future generations will love it then...

Max's is one of the classic Filipino restaurants for all occasions, whether it be for family, friends, colleagues and the like. I have always been a fan of Max's since I was a kid. Their fried chicken recipe is unique and has never been mimicked by others. It's great to be dipped with banana ketchup (a very Filipino thing) and Worcestershire sauce. My cousin called it the "super" sauce that's just made for this Max's chicken. Their other food items on the menu are just as fantastic - sinigang, binagoongan, even the sizzling tofu is my family's usual order. I believe their food range is great for kids (and kids at heart!), adults, for sharing, office lunches, snacks and more. Also, we can never go home without a take-out from their bakeshop. I will never forget their caramel bars that are always in demand and they have Tiramisu cake that's plus points on my part. Max's has several branches nationwide and it can accommodate small and large groups. Some branches can host parties for kids and official meetings. In a nutshell, this restaurant is one of my go-to places for comfort food and great company.

However this was my first visit to their Michelin-mentioned at this Ayala triangle gardens location --and it definitely holds up. The watermelon beef sinigang remains the star of the show. It's consistently excellent every time I order it. The balance is just right: tangy, slightly sweet, deeply savory, and incredibly satisfying. If you're coming here for one dish, this is it. The sisig was another standout. It had that perfect mix of crispy bits and tender pieces, with a bright, citrusy kick that kept each bite interesting. Easily one of the better versions I've had. The kare-kare, unfortunately, didn't quite hit the same level. It was decent, but the peanut flavor felt muted, which took away from the richness you usually expect from the dish. For drinks and dessert, the ripe mango shake was a win--fresh, creamy, and refreshing. The mango pineapple iced tea, though, didn't quite work for me; the flavors didn't come together as well as I hoped. Overall, this location delivers: great ambiance, solid service, and reliable execution of their signature dishes. I'll keep coming back--if only for that sinigang.

The ube sago drink was way better than the halo halo dessert. My favorite thing was their mungo. It was perfectly flavored and was such a comfort food. We went to various locations of Manam and all the locations were great and the flavors were consistent. Cannot recommend Manam enough! This is a must visit resto when in Manila. The service was fine, nothing memorable like the food.
