Max's restaurant is THE place to go to when you are craving 'uncomplicated' fried chicken --- by that, I mean fried chicken that hasn't been drowned in breading and countless spices. Max's fried chicken, unlike its fastfood counterparts, is simply chicken that has been deep-fried to golden brown perfection without losing its juiciness. Sold by the quarters, half or whole and paired with a side of sweet potato fries, I've always eaten it dipped in a mixture of banana catsup and Worcestershire sauce.
There are, of course, other things to eat at this place aside from fried chicken. They have other fiesta favorites like kare kare, dinuguan, pancit, and sinigang. For dessert, you can choose your favorite pastry or cake from their bakeshop counter, or simply be contented with the single butterscotch bar that usually comes with one of their sampler plates. Do try their halohalo though; they add generous amounts of real macapuno in it. read more
