The Good: Best Cuapao in Town!…read more The Bad: No Seats, under staffed The Pro-tip: If there are alot of people when you get there, don't get discouraged. The turnover is pretty fast Now this is what my childhood tastes like! I have vivid memories of going to greenhills as a kid and having cuapao as a snack! Still the best game in town, chocfull of nuts hasn't changed much in terms of taste over the past 2 decades. If its your first time, you have to try the cuapao. My other personal favorites are the siomai and the moist chocolate slice. The downside of this establishment? The place is tiny, they don't have any seats (standing room only)! And they only have 2 people manning the booth even during peak hours. Don't let the long queue turn you off! The turnover is pretty fast and the food is definitely worth the wait!

Before I start this review, this will be another of my fave "eat-my-feelings" places! I have been…read moreeating at Choc Full of Nuts since I was 3 years old. Today, I still find time to eat here when I drop by Greenhills Shopping Center. My family used to live near Greenhills. So, when it was time for merienda, this was our go-to place! :) My recommendations or what I will ALWAYS order when I drop by is their Cuapao (open faced pork belly bun with preserved green mustard vegetable and sweet ground peanuts, Php47), Siomai (Php39) and Moist Chocolate Cake (Php37). This order combo will always always hit the spot! :D Try their Fresh Lumpia and Cupcakes too! I'm sooo happy that their foodshop has withstood the test of time especially in a place like Greenhills! Their prices have increased by the taste is still delicious and homey. :)

All of the baked items are individually wrapped to keep them fresh. They also have a varied selection of espresso drinks. I got the Caramel Macchiato, it was delicious but a bit too sweet for me. It was made well though and the sweetness level is just a matter of personal preference. They have a lunch/dinner menu of Japanese noodle dishes. The noodles resemble gnocchi and have tomato based sauces. I didn't get a chance to try any of these dishes but I'm looking forward to trying them next time.

If there's one type of establishment I've had a huge sampling of over my time here in Metro Manila,…read moreit would be cafes and coffeeshops. As a medical student, heading to a new coffeeshop or cafe is the perfect way to jumpstart productivity and combat the stir craziness associated with being hunched over the same desk, every. single. day. Filipinos, however, are a social people. We love talking and catching up over a cup of coffee and some pastries. That can lead to some coffeeshops being noisier than others, and not necessarily being a beacon of productivity. Mr. Park's is perfect for studying! The location isn't in Robinsons Magnolia, but rather is in the arcade of stores beneath The Magnolia Residences facing the green area of the mall, making it both accessible but also secluded. Perfect for uninterrupted time to focus, or a place to get away from the bustle of the mall. The ambiance is really good too. Great, bright lighting and spacious tables make getting work done super easy. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating! Food isn't bad either. I normally get their Americano (P80), and for the price, it's huge! The ice cubes made of coffee they include are also a great touch, and make it an even better value for a quick caffeine fix. Pastries are the name of the game here. I am personally a fan of their croquettes, egg tarts, and cream puffs. I'd pass on the scones, though. They were too dry and flavorless for me. They also offer bingsu. I've had some of a friend's and it tasted pretty good, with the ingredients looking fairly fresh. They're also a lot cheaper than the baked goods that you would find at Starbucks of Coffeebean. Oh, and they're open 24 hours a day!! It's amazing. I love this place. I can study until the sun comes up here.

It has a homey and calming vibe to it that you could rarely feel in any other restaurant. The moment I walked into this place, I immediately noticed that almost everything is made out of wood--the chairs, the tables, and even the ornaments. There were also very colorful decorations hanging from the ceiling that makes this restaurant even stand out. Besides that, I also liked the random love notes that decorated every walls and tables. This place is like the opposite of minimalist. Every ornament decorating the place was just too flashy. For my first meal there, I decided to order their Pasta Amatriciana with Italian Meatballs. The taste and the presentation of the dish shares a resemblance to the Spaghetti alla puttanesca. It has the perfect combination of salty, sour, and spicy flavors. I would definitely come back to this place to try out other things from their menu.

However, just cause something's difficult to ruin it doesn't mean that it's easy to do it really well. I love Mary Grace simply because they do the things I love so well. Cheese rolls, ensaymada, and so much more. In fact, I often compare things to Mary Grace. If there's a new place that offers the stuff that I like off of their menu I end up making Mary Grace the benchmark. Yeah, they're that good. I'm sure that they're not the best. Somewhere out there is a place that does better. Still haven't found it though so for now Mary Grace is for me, still the standard.
