BAck then I was the type who played it safe by ordering ice cream instead of something as exotic as crepe. Nowadays, more people are familiar with this particular slice of dessert than I know. Crepes and cream is a bit special to me because it was the first establishment that showed me that crepes could be savory too. Before I tried this place, all the crepes I ever had were of the desert variety. That said, the stuff on their menu isn't that expensive. The quality of the crepe is great at least when compared to most of the places I've been to. Give it a try, once again, since you'll do little wrong in spending your money here. I sure as heck didn't regret it when I did.

Crepes and Cream may be ubiquitous in the metro's malls, but that doesn't mean their products are automatically inferior. What I can appreciate is that they offer a variety of flavors, from the savory to the sweet; their stalls and are clean and uncluttered; and they make the crepes fresh and fast. (It's quite addicting to watch their staff turn the batter into perfectly thin crepes that, no sweat! And I've always marveled at how their crepes don't tear or break down at all despite being filled and folded in a rush.) I recently triend their Kani Crepe while my sister had the Taco Crepe for lunch. Though the filling is not as abundant as I would have wanted, the simple but yummy flavor of the crepe made up for it. They were quite filling, too, lasting us till dinner while we strolled around the mall.

This cute coffee shop and creperie is an absolute classic and never fails to satisfy cravings! My all time favorite thing to order here (I always just pretend to look at the menu!) is the La Pinay. This piece of heaven is a crepe filled with mangos, topped with some mantecado ice cream and then drizzled with chocolate sauce. Did I make your mouth water?? It really is super good! For those who love Nutella, their La Delice is also a crowd pleaser! They get extra points for having really cute stores. They all feel really homey, cozy and well, French. Plus, they make the crepes right next to the dining area, so that's always fun to watch! If you're looking for a place for merienda or looking to grab a crepe (sweet or savory!) I promise Cafe Breton will not disappoint!

I used to visit Café Breton all the time when I was a high school student and a part of me wishes that my university was just as geographically close to The Podium as it was before. Now when I do eat at Café Breton, I need to bring somebody else with me or else I will order the exact same crepe every time--their fabulous and sweetly sinful La Pinay (P180). Designed with a beautiful flourish, the La Pinay is filled with ripe mangoes and folded thickly into a square, powdered with sugar, and drizzled in dark chocolate sauce. On top of the still-warm crepe rests a scoop of vanilla ice cream, two if you're ambitious. The La Pinay is so good, that if I were on death row I would ask for this crepe to be one of the meals to gorge myself on before my execution day. It would be the sweetest way to go.

I would recommend their Croque Monsieur if you like cheese. My relatives enjoy numerous dishes here. They like their lasagna and crepes. Afterwards, they have their cappuccino with extra cream on the side. When we ate here yesterday, they served the cappuccinos without sugar. The cappuccinos were no longer hot by the time they received the Splenda and brown sugar. I was very happy drinking my PAUL frappe blended with pistachio macarons/macaroons yesterday. Today, I ordered the PAUL frappe blended with chocolate macarons/macaroons. I'll stick to ordering their pistachio frappe. There aren't too many places that sell that flavor. Today, they asked for the Splenda and brown sugar before they received their cappuccinos. I enjoyed their ham and cheese crepe. It's nice that they dice the ham. It makes it easier to eat the crepe. The crepe was okay, but I'd rather have their Croque Monsieur.

I waited for someone to approach me for almost 20 minutes and the servers just passed me by. I was not even offered any water or was asked "how I was doing and if I was ever ready to order." So I got up and told the manager that their service is very poor. The menu itself seems very used, dirty and very overwhelming to look at. Servers seem very timid when it comes to interacting with people. However, this would not be the last time I would visit, because I did not even get a chance to try the menu. I will be back and hopefully there will be improvements with their service.

It wasn't until I saw the menu that I had realized it was the same restaurant I previously tried, so I thought, "OK, this should be good." Although I found it rather strange that they'd put up a branch there as I have a notion that La Creperie can be a bit pricey especially for students. First of all, the ambiance. It's not really conducive for studying, but more for an intimate dinner with your significant other or a best friend with its cozy lighting and interiors that scream "tea party!" Kidding aside, while the interior's all girly-girly, I think it helps set the mood for the food you are about to enjoy. As for me, I had the Le JJ - a tomato, ham, emmental and gruyere cheese crepe served with a side of greens. Let me tell you though, the plate was lovely! The food was okay for me I guess, it's not too filling and I think it's a great option if you're looking for something light (plus nice to look at). On the side, I had a steaming hot pot of TWG Silver Moon Tea. The teacup itself is super pretty!!! I felt really dainty while drinking my tea and enjoying my crepe. One of the biggest things though about La Creperie is that they already had TWG tea on their menu even before the TWG restaurant came to Philippine shores, and on my very first La Creperie experience, Silver Moon was really, love at first taste so this is what I ordered when I stumbled upon this branch. Overall, I think La Creperie would make for a good date place (guys, please take note!) It has everything a girl will probably want to make the date picture perfect (and Instagrammable): pretty plates, pretty teacups, light food, pretty ambiance. Hey, even if you really enjoy your date's company, you can continue the fun right next door with a cup of coffee at Craft.

It's well-lit and especially remote, with Craft getting a lot more attention (at least when I went). It's pretty surprising how girly and intricate the interior is designed - it definitely stands out from most establishments in the area, and in a good way. It's a bit small, but I've never seen it crowded. I was stuck there for an entire afternoon because of the rain with my friends, so we got to try quite a bit on their menu. Their crepes are yummy, warm, and fresh - perfect food to fight the gloomy weather and spirits. I got a familiar pasta dish - the pesto cream carbonara - which was really filling and not too heavy on the cream. Spent nearly P500 though, so I'll probably only be coming back to get some coffee when it gets too crowded in the nearby cafes.
