RB CTY is tucked behind a BPI bank along Maginhawa, and you can't really see it from the road, that's why they have waiters greeting people outside, urging passersby to try their newly-opened restaurant. One could say that RB CTY is a bit more upscale than most of the restaurants or diners around Maginhawa. For one, it is in a cushy and well-appointed store with minimal interiors and a wall of photos of people who have tried the restaurant before.
You might ask, what is a vegetarian doing in a restaurant that sells ribs? Well, let me just say that vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike should not miss out on their four-cheese fusili. I love a good creamy and cheesy mac and cheese, and RB CTY's version is light, silky and not to cloyingly rich. I love how they have Lego blocks on the tables, and you can create and build different things with them while you wait for your order.
On a different occasion, I have also tried out the creamy squash soup which was nicely done, too. Service is attentive, and the bathroom is clean. There is also a widescreen TV that plays movies at different times during the day. Overall, this newcomer in the block is quite good, and my only complaint is that it is too expensive for the price. Maybe they have jacked up the price points to cover their building rental (I bet their rent is expensive). It's not something I would go to every week, but it's good that I know where I can get good comfort food when I feel like sinking into a bowl of mac and cheese. read more
