As a tourist I avoided American franchise food. I can eat that at home. However, the in-laws wanted American cuisine. Denny's it is then!
Ambiance was as American as a Denny's in America's heartland. They even had American country, John Denver, and classic rock, Meat Loaf, playing on the Muzak.
I ordered my Denny's standby, ham n cheese omelette. I was in for a surprise. Upon arrival a plate with a plain omelette was set in front of me. On the sides were two dishes of chopped cheddar and chopped ham!
I explained to the waitress how a Denny's ham n cheese omelette was made. She took it back. They then cooked fresh eggs, layered in the chopped ham, then cheese. Melted just right, folded it, placed it on a clean plate, and served it to me. Delicious.
