Plus, who doesn't love Bacon? Seriously. The place is small and cramped. There are a couple of high stools and three small tables under the "Long Live Bacon" sign. If you need to use the comfort room, you have to enter the secret room called ABV. It's a speakeasy and I will definitely talk about it more in another review. The food here is perfect for after a long night of drinking with friends. They offer a breakfast menu where you can customize your own plate. Want a bacon and egg sandwich made with 2 waffles? Go for it! But, in my opinion, the definite Must Try here are their Hotdogs! All their hotdogs are bacon-wrapped and deep fried! YUM! I recommend the Chili Dog (Php220) and the Kimchi Dog (Php190). Next time, I will have to try their Tater Bombs (bacon-wrapped potato tots)! But, it's always sold out when I arrive! Huhu! I can't wait to see what Lazy Bastard will "baconify" next! :D

I heard about hotdogs sold at Php 100 but never at these prices. My siblings and I decided to be adventurous and tried their hotdogs anyway. It was in Jupiter street and we found parking around the area. We saw their big sign that said "Bacon & Burgers this way". When I took a bite of their hotdog, I was enlightened. I tasted the hotdog sandwich's full potential. I experienced Lazy Bastard's BACON WRAPPED hotdog in a bun and topped with a load of toppings. I particularly found their Con carne and parmesan hotdog sandwich to be their bestest. On my next visit, I'm planning to try their AVOCADOG. On the other hand, I found their burger to be okay.

Several low and high chairs were available and it was an igloo inside! Food Umami Chicken Fries were pretty good! The spices gave it a delicious, non-spicy flavor. I could only wish they'd give a bit more chicken, considering the pricing. Honey mustard sauce was great though the chicken can stand alone. Onion Rings had thick and crunchy coatings. They were delicious though I feel this is better consumed by 2-4 people. Service Servers were very friendly and one of them was full of smiles. I hope she'll always be happy because it's a great mood-setter, not just for me, but potentially for everyone she speaks with. I drowned in their water refills because they kept them coming! :p 40%-discounted reservation claimed with Eatigo

So, my sister and I planned on grabbing some after Terminator Genisys. We ended up splitting a Waikiki 9oz burger, which was a beef patty with Teri sauce, bacon, cheddar, and a spud (hash brown). I ordered the patty medium but they gave me a medium well (unacceptable). The bun wasn't as fluffy as I remembered from back home...I guess you can't get it exactly the same. This was my first time having mozzarella tots. It was yummy. Well fried cheese anything is yummy! You can't go wrong with that dish. Then there was the "crispy" fries. It was not crispy. Very soggy. Sort of like they had been sitting out for a while. And then served as is. If someone orders crispy fries...one would expect a bit of a freshness and crunch. Unfortunately they failed on this one.

Do those 2 things correctly and you're 95% on the way to a good burger. I mean, what did the burger ever do to you? Okay, enough of my ranting. I'm just happy to have stumbled across The Beef a few weeks ago. I've been to Hole in the Wall 2 or 3 times already yet I've never tried The Beef. It's an inconspicuous looking black and gray colored shop with a sign stating "The Beef" overhead. Maybe the reason I overlooked it the first few times I visited. Their menu is intriguing because it consists of only 3 items: burger, cheeseburger and fries. I went ahead and ordered a cheeseburger with fries and waited patiently. Little did I know what was waiting for me when I took my first bite into this burger. The burger is delicious and everything I look for in one: juicy, huge beef flavor and I particularly liked the salty, seared crust on the outside. The bun holding the burger appears to be brioche and is soft and spongy, which absorbs all the juices as you consume it. These 2 components alone make this possibly the best burger I've ever tried in Manila. The burger is also dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and other condiments which only enhance the experience. This thing literally had me daydreaming about it after my first visit and I kept bothering my girlfriend that we had to return and trust me, I will. Pros -One of the best, if not the best, burgers right now in the Metro. -Simple menu. Cons -Pricey. Burger and fries will set you back at least P350. -Fries are meh. Last but not least: Dill pickles on a burger? Yes. Raw cucumber and/or sweet pickles on a burger? NO, just NO. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

That's how popular Zark's has become over the last few years. And it's popular for good reason. Zark's simply makes really good burgers: there's nothing more to it. Of course, they have their cool gimmicks with their huge burgers and the typical "IF YOU FINISH THIS IN 5 MINUTES IT'S FREE" that comes with it, but most people really do go for the burgers. They make tasty, juicy burgers with a great selection of toppings at a price point that's definitely student friendly. I like that the flavors are all basketball references. My favorite flavor is the Shaq, which tops the patty with huge fried onions. The basketball references extend to the ambiance of the place: walls are decorated with jerseys and singed balls, with the NBA theme being present pretty much in the entire resto. If this was like a year ago, I would've easily given Zark's a perfect score, but after trying better burgers, I don't think Zark's offers anything REALLY that amazing. However, it's probably still the most solid burger place around DLSU, and I give it a very firm thumbs up.

Immediately, I fell in love with their burgers and sandwiches. Honestly, I was one of the regulars who felt sad when that branch closed down years ago. When I met with a friend at RCBC recently, I was surprised to learn that there's a Hungry Hippo branch at the RCBC Plaza food court. Even if we were supposed to eat at a cafe by the lobby, I requested that we move our meeting to my old-time favorite fastfood place. My friend was good enough to oblige. I vividly remember that only burgers, sandwiches, fries, and drinks were served at the old Valero branch. But now, here in RCBC Plaza, Hungry Hippo's menu has expanded to include rice meals, pasta, and even chicken wings. Although I was tempted to taste Tocino and Corned Beef Rice, I still ordered my old-time favorite, the Chunky Chicken sandwich. The smell of the toasted bread brought back many memories. I didn't even bother to take a photo of the food because I was so excited to take a bite. I don't know if I'm just nostalgic but their chicken sandwich remains to be one of the best for me.

A short walk from the Ascott Makati and 4 hungry tummy's is what caught our eyes on 8 Cuts Burger Blend. The hostess was raving about how good their Onion Rings are suppose to be and that their beef burgers are just excellent. This made us give them a try. The girl at the hostess stand welcomed us in and got us seated. It was a warm evening, so dining inside was more ideal. Since I personally have an addiction to French fries, yes we're all going to order this along with an order of onion rings too. Food selection was overwhelming, it took some time to figure out whether to get a family meal for 4, or individually order our own burger from their wide selection of foods. As she promised, the burgers were delicious. It made all of us full that we might not be going out that night and just head back to our hotel after a day of traveling. 8 Cuts might be my new go to burger joint when I'm in Manila since I'm always craving a burger day or night.
