Very rarely, I felt like i was or would get any fair consideration for the many opportunities and jobs out there. UNTIL, I finally met with Kim. Kim took the proper time to interview me and go in to depth about my work experience and what I was looking for moving forward. We discussed my likes, strength, weaknesses and preferences. Since then, Kim has considered me for several assignments and has placed me at a couple of great locations. Kim is very professional and respects me as a highly skilled employee and appreciates any and all feedback I can provide back to her. Especially, about the work and my experience about the assignments I do accept. Certified has worked out great for me. They have been an amazing Employment Group and have been extremely beneficial in me returning back into the work place. There is a lot of paper work to fill out and submit and there are also some assessment test, but nothing too extreme like other agencies. I have been very fortunate to have given them a try and that chance has really been paying off. Thank you Kim!

After being passed around on the phone to a variety of recruiters, I was finally able to speak with a woman named Annie. She basically told me that she couldn't help me find an entry level temp job because I was a "transition employee." Since I had been in a different industry for over the past decade she told me that I was better off looking for a job on my own and that they couldn't help me. Nice attitude for a company that is THEIR job to help employ people.

It's funny almost every review on here is a bad experience, but they all have something in common,…read morethey probably didn't get placed. Let's get a few things straight, this is a agency. There are hundreds of different agencies in the bay area, and they all provide a service. No company that provides a service will get perfect ratings. People are always easy to say negative things, but how many actually say good things? (This post is a prime example) They're not successful unless they are putting people to work. I'm sure they run into a ton of people every day, is everyone deserving of a job? With unemployment being so low, can anyone honestly say everyone is willing to give it 100% and make a living without an excuse? I contacted Aerotek right out of college, as well as a few other agencies, no names. I was always skeptical about agencies because I always thought it would be temp. I was in contact with all 3. The other agencies had jobs available and wanted me to go to work quickly, which was great! I needed a job. However, I wasn't too interested in the positions they had. Not once did they ask me what my major was, or what I wanted to do. In my mind, it was only going to be temp regardless. Then there was Aerotek, I was assigned to a recruiter, Julio. He was always in constant contact with me, which was surprising. He got to know me, and found out what I liked to do. I met with him at the Alameda office. I went through the back entrance. Everyone was nice and lively, seem like they were a cool office. Julio and I sat down, chatted about me and my hobbies, and my goals and interest. He then presented me with a few opportunities, and gave me the option to chose from. OPTIONS! Who doesn't like options? The other agencies didn't do this. I was blown away from this whole experience, it really changed the way I felt about staffing agencies, but Aerotek overall. I ended up not taking any of the opportunities Julio presented to me. I ended up taking a position with another company internally. But still to this day, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Aerotek. They left a great impression on me, and I would not hesitate to contact them if I ever were looking for another position. Julio actually still reaches out to me every now and then to see how I'm doing. He actually linked one of his partners with my brother, and got him in a job at a local hospital. The service I've received from day one has been amazing. Don't let all these negative reviews turn you away. I did my research, and Aerotek is one of the top staffing agencies in the industry. Not everyone is going to get a job there, there are some lazy individuals out there that won't be worth anyone's time. If you're looking for a agency, I would HIGHLY recommend giving this one a try. I wasn't disappointed.

There should be a zero star category!…read more I am a highly skilled, intelligent, educated professional, presently in need of temporary work. I did a lot of temp work years ago, and the clients usually wanted to hire me permanently. In the course of trying to register with some agencies, I've had the second awful experience in a few days. So perhaps I'll make a career of reviewing staffing agencies rather than working for them. One of the agencies I used to work for was Cawley, which has apparently since been bought by Staffling Solutions. I submitted my information online to Staffing Solutions through its website, and as directed, called to schedule an appointment. Cathy, to whom I spoke, didn't sound interested, but somewhat grudgingly told me that the only time she could see me was at 10 a.m. a week and a half later - today. I specifically asked to confirm the location, because the person who had answered the phone told me the company was no longer at the Emeryville location on the website. (The incorrect address is still online.) Cathy told me to go to Suite 600 at 1300 Clay Street in Oakland. I arrived at Clay Street this morning in plenty of time this morning for my interview. The receptionist asked me to take a seat. Half an hour later, when Cathy had not appeared, the receptionist said she didn't know where Cathy was and suggested I reschedule. After having spent two hours of my morning on this fruitless exercise (plus $7 for parking, and gas money), I returned home and called Cathy to ask what had happened and to reschedule. She said very offhandedly, "Actually I'm in Pleasanton today." No hint of apology for having failed to keep the appointment or having scheduled an appointment at a place she apparently was not planning to be. Once more she gave me one option of a time, a week from Friday at 10 a.m. I asked to confirm that the interview would be at the Clay Street office, and she said it would. But since having hung up, I've reconsidered. If these people treat applicants with such cavalier disregard, I don't think I want anything to do with them. And, as I said in my Yelp review of Ascot Staffing, when I'm in a postion to be hiring employees, it certainly won't be through Staffing Solutions I've also posted this review on Facebook and Twitter (which also posts it to Linked In.)

The receptionist (Zaza) was very nice and attentive. The interview: There were no real hard questions. Came in interested in the mail clerical position and the data entry position I found on Craigslist. The staffing specialist (Keely Walsh) just wanted to make sure that I was ok working in a production driven environment. I took a alphanumeric test and passed! I got the data entry position which pays better. I signed and reviewed the paperwork online. Background Check: A few days later I went to the location I would be working at and filled out some more paperwork and they live scanned me. Job: The job was one of the most funnest jobs I've ever had. My bosses were awesome! Thank you so much Manpower! I really did enjoy my time at that job.

I saw a online post that this agency was having a job fair. It wasn't a job fair. A job fair is when employers all set up little tables in a shitty conference room. This was an open house where you could walk in and talk to their recruiters...something you could do any day of the week, I imagine. There were two recruiters sitting in one cubicle chatting. They told me to fill out the questionnaire on the table and pointed...sorta. So, I took the 1.5 minutes to fill out the crappy little questionnaire, and then I sat listening to them gossip for five minutes. Finally, I stood up and walked over and waited for one of them to acknowledge me. One was wearing Uggs... this should have been a sign to turn around and walk out. They literally both sighed and rolled their eyes and one of them said, "I'll take him." We sit down, and I hand her my resume. She pays no attention. She asks if I registered online, and I say yes. She pulls up my record and says, "I can't do anything with you until you finish your online profile." I tell her that I'm happy to finish the online profile and then I sketch out what I'm looking for in terms of employment. I ask if that's something her agency can work with. Impatiently, she says, "Sir, I can't look in to anything for you until you finish your online profile. I need to see your education history and work experience." I point out that my resume - which she has completely ignored - contains all of that information. I notice that she keeps fidgeting and looking over to the other side of her desk. I glance over - there is a fucking ice cream sandwich melting onto her desk! It's sitting in a stained Starbucks lid dripping onto the desktop. She sees me starring at the sandwich and then back at her. She mumbles something about how I'll need to be tested and provide a couple of forms of ID. "I can see that you're more interested in your snack than working with me, so I'll just go." She says that she can find me something, but that its my fault for not reading the post correctly. I get that often times, recruiters end up playing sort of case manager to folks with inconsistent employment history...and that's a tough job. But the attitude given to me by the recruiter indicated that she was unorganized, unprofessional and likely ineffective at her job. I don't want to work with an agency that makes people like her their first contact point.
