Linda works on top-level EA searches to CEO's and other C-level executives. She always has some of the highest paying positions in the bay area, and is very discriminating in who she works with, which makes complete sense when you hear about the searches she is working on. Linda is very thorough and spends a lot of time with her candidates to learn about their skill set (you better be damn good!) and what type of role they are looking for. I did look up the address as soon as I got the assignment- the company had moved to a different floor and didn't update their website or their temp agency. Boo to both of you. After interviewing with 4 other agencies (who all told me that I was great and shouldn't have a problem finding work ), I felt like working with recruiters was a waste of time. I would go in for an interview with them, they would send me out on 1 or 2 interviews and then I would never hear back from them again. I was beginning to feel insecure and less confident after going on so many interviews (doubling the count since I would often meet with a recruiter first). Then I met the AMAZING Terri (Clark) Kent - she was my superwoman. Her encouragement and determination in placing me at a good law firm kept my spirits and confidence up. To be honest, I have no recollection of ever speaking to anyone from this company. Chris the owner, however, called me 7 times out of the blue today. After declining his calls, he kept calling. It was hard to continue the call I was on, so I answered. It was Chris, the owner. After stating what company he was with, I immediately hung up as I am not interested and needed to return to the call. Chris felt the need to follow up with this email: "Hi Kaylee, I am sorry you felt the need to hang up on me today.  If you didn't want to speak to me you could have just done the mature thing and told me. Have a beautiful evening and best of luck in your career." After informing him that I was on a call, did not have any contact with his company for over two years, and did not want to be contacted again he responded with this email: "Actually your phone just rang and rang.  Every ring is not a new call in case you are unfamiliar with how phones work. The Pacific Firm was referred to us by the solar company we frequently partner with. The Recruiter who worked with us was very professional. She was bright and enthusiastic about our project. I had never worked with a recruiter before and found the process to be smooth and pleasant. They were very straightforward, down-to-earth and responsive. Because of The Pacific Firm's great work, we hired a PM who has done a great job for us. I highly recommend The Pacific Firm, especially to businesses who might not normally hire a recruiting firm. They make the process painless and seem to work hard to listen to what you need and find it for you. I was very pleased and relieved with their results.

'Get in as many resumes as they can and do a shotgun approach'. In fact, it's so blatant that the Pacific Firm will even ask about friends in your network while 'working' with you. The number one job of a recruiter is to get to know you and understand the person behind the CV - Pacific Firm works off your CV with little questions about the candidate. This means that they are unable to sell you when going up against other recruiting firms. Although they leave a good first impression, you soon find that they fail in execution. They forget to follow-up and update you on anything. I went from a good candidate to be put forward, to someone with irrelevant experience and not a good fit. The worst part is that they strung me out over 2 weeks. They have serious time management issues. Recruiters become so backed up with work that they ask you to follow-up with them. They also forget about anything you attempted to discuss in detail. Don't waste your time with them because they will waste your time. And all job hunters know that wasting time is the worst thing you can do when seeking new opportunities. If anyone knows good recruiters, please post here. PS - I love the way they send in their people to write a good reviews after I posted this. At least they tried, even though they were a month late! This company is reactive instead of proactive. Also got an email saying 'thanks' from a job seeker. Apparently they dumped him and tried to get his contacts.

Before I was laid off by my previous employer, I went ahead and walked my resume along with my other coworkers resumes over to On Assignment. We met with Troy Dinkel and gave him our resumes. WIthin the next couple of days, we got a call from Troy about a job interview. Long story short: Troy was very quick with submitting our resumes and getting us interviews and jobs. He checks in every so often to make sure things are going alright and get general updates. So my take away message to you is... AEROTEK SUCKS. That's it. Happy job hunting, folks!
