Matt emailed me and made it sound like I had the job but then he never got back in touch with me. My guess is that he sent out a whole lot of emails and then cherry-picked from the replies. Well, if you're going to do that, then at least have the courtesy and professionalism to: 1) Write me back to say the job's no longer available and 2) Word your emails differently so they don't make it sound like the job is guaranteed. read more

An Aquent recruiter recently contacted me on LinkedIn, requested my personal information and then never sent me any information on an "available" position, despite me sending a follow-up email of my own. I'm sure she had a quota to meet, but that sort of behavior is highly rude and would not be tolerated had the roles been reversed. Recruiters can be very hit or miss in general, but I would be especially wary of responding to any Aquent recruiters, as they may be trying to hit you up for your personal information. The sign of a poor recruiting agency is one where professional communication standards take a backseat to data collection. read more

I was first introduced to Aquent through a former colleague, and even though it took a number of months to get going, once I adjusted my resume and Aquent profile bit, and connected with the right people, I've found that they are absolutely a top-notch organization. Kylie and Lisa have been incredibly supportive in finding the right roles, as well as taking care of my needs. They're very hands-off for the day-to-day, but they're always quick to answer email or return a call when something comes up, and they always get things taken care of. The benefits are very good, and the referral system offers an attractive incentive to bring your friends/colleagues onboard. To the detractors, all I can say is you get out of it what you put into it. If you expect to submit your resume and have jobs falling at your feet, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. Be proactive, follow up, and ask questions...you'll get better results. read more

Overall, one of the best creative employment agencies out there. They'll work hard to help you find work, but be prepared for mostly-corporate (albeit well-paying) placements. They're always really busy, so if you don't hear from them immediately, follow up. They will get back to you. read more

I can't tell how this agency works since they never call they send mass emails out and don't like to reply back. I finally got a hold of one person and told them the position wasn't a good fit but I had applied to other positions but was never contacted. I see a lot of gigs I am qualified for but no one contacts me about. He tells me that the job was already filled. I then have to ask if the positions on their website are real. I know some agencies jobs are listed to show that they have a lot of jobs when in fact they are already filled or nonexistent. I can't recommend this agency at this point. Its been half a year and I haven't been able to work with them. I find it suspicious that most jobs I apply to are closed. I really wonder if the jobs are real and why they leave it on their website if they are already filled. Since I don't hear from them at all or have gotten any placement I won't be using them and ignoring all their job ads at this point. read more

Waste of time. Scammers. (Notice all the glowing 5-star reviews, written the same way?) Here's the last 4 responses from Aquent I've received after applying for a job on their website: "Thank you for submitting your application. This position is no longer available. Although this particular job is closed, we will certainly consider you for other positions that match your qualifications. If you haven't already done so, please register at myAquent and set up job search agents to be notified of new career opportunities that match your skills and experience." Some of them were posted THAT DAY- regardless, all were open and accepting applicants. When you apply, though? You automatically get the above. Not to mention I HAVE registered, a long time ago, and always apply through the account. Would be nice if the auto-reply robot could at least figure that out. I'm highly qualified at what I do and have never even gotten an interview from the rare Aquent "job opportunities" that didn't elicit the above auto-reply. Considering the fact that it takes time and effort to apply to jobs, it's really not cool that they post non-existent jobs in order to boost their database. Don't waste your time with them like I have. read more

Aquent is a great recruiting agency for the young professional. I left my job & wanted to take some time off. I started with Lauren. I gave her my timeline of when I would be ready to return to work. My timeline flowed perfectly thanks to Lauren and her team for keeping me in mind. Now that I am a temp in my currently position, I work with Erica. She is another Gem to work with from Aquent. She ensured that I received all of my healthcare benefits and checks in with me to ensure that I am happy. If I have any concerns, I just talk with Erica. Aquent is also a great Happy Hour host! I would like to urge Aquent to host more after work events for all of the employees to network. I love everyone on the Aquent Team. When my friends tell me they are looking for a new position, I always direct them to Aquent. Thank you all for helping me find a job that enhances my career & keeps me happy! read more

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Jennifer Wakefield at Aquent. She matched me to a position that suits my abilities and interests. While working with Jennifer, she maintained a level of professionalism and followed the proper procedures to find a position and dorm that ate a good fit for me. I strongly recommend Jennifer. read more

I only work a part-time job for this agency, but they treat me like top dollar! I don't know what they are doing to encourage such good customer service, but keep it going! Thanks Aquent! read more

I consider myself very fortunately to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Aquent on two ridiculously legit contracts so far. Enough can not be said for my agent Kylie who activated the launch switch ushering my career and me into a new level of awesome. Super responsive and fast-moving, I'm stoked to have Aquent in my corner. read more

Being a recent graduate from college, Aquent was a massive help in landing my first job. Their website interface while applying was incredibly friendly and easy to manage. I applied for a couple jobs and could track them easy through my online profile. One day I got a call from one of their recruiters, Kylie, who was the absolute sweetest and most helpful person I have encountered thus far in the job hunting world. After a short interview about a certain position with a client they determined I was a good fit and made the appropriate connections for a second interview with my now manager. I feel so fortunate to have had Aquent to help me land an incredible first job out of college and launch my career. 10/10 would recommend anyone to apply through Aquent. The staff is incredibly supportive from the first interview with the client through frequent follow ups. read more

I have worked in the Bay area for 7 years. During that time, Aquent has kept me employed steadily for 5 of those years. The other 2, I got some work on my own. They are the friendly staff and treat you like an employee, not some source of income/bonus. Unlike other agencies, they don't sell you a bunch of b.s. about who they know or lie about opportunities they will get you. They also offer the best rates vs. their fees. I know, I've hired Aquent employees, too. When I've asked them to consider increasing me rate, they have always agreed to (be reasonable, though). They don't try to short change you and will work with you as best they can and will be sincerely honest about what they can do. So, want an honest agency that will give you what you are worth and treat you with respect? Go to Aquent... 415.399.8800 read more

Great foot in the door for San Francisco area newcomers. I recently moved to San Francisco to pursue new career opportunities. Even so San Francisco is bursting with job options, finding the right position quickly, in a new city, without a professional network, can be a daunting task. Applying to job opportunities online without a referral is frustrating, often times I would spend hours in front of the computer filling out pages and pages of applications and wouldn't hear a word back. I signed up with Aquent hoping they would match me to high profile companies and put me in front of the line of online applicants. And that's what Aquent excels at. I found a great job in less than a month. Sheri Carlson-Rivera worked with me and found a great opportunity that suits my skills and align with my background. read more

I had a positive experience using Aquent while in my job search. I was welcomed by positive recruiters who were knowledgeable, personable and focused on my search (with me). I was in a situation where I came from a good amount of experience and wanted to engage with the right opportunities, and both recruiters (Gavin Freeman & Ashley Henry) were very helpful in that search. Both illustrated specific abilities in targeting positions fit for me, taking into considerations any other details I offered. Not to mention, I had a great experience in receiving follow-ups and the process was seamless throughout. Overall, they had a good tap on industry-specific jobs (tech, lifestyle, e-commerce, creative), and I felt confident using them in my job seeking process. read more

I've worked a few gigs for them. In fact, I've worked for a few agencies and can say with a lot of confidence this is a good group. They have good clients, they value their talent, they mean what they say, communicate well. Aquent may be the best around. read more

They seem super friendly and helpful, but definitely don't have your best interest in mind even if they try to convey that to you. Things are not followed through as they should be as mentioned in other reviews. It is best to try on your own first because working with this agency to find a job is complicated, long, and stressful. read more
