SK came out and did a seasonal checkup on our AC. We're new to the home and area and found SK…read morethrough Yelp. They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

Last cooling season he…read moresaid the outside unit was near the end of its life, the unit was in the house when purchased. It''s a rental when it dies, we'll replace it. On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

The first company was incapable of resolving the problem. I tried DZO. Within a few days two men arrived and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. We discussed a second issue and made a future appointment for resolve as they needed additional materials. Second issue solved. I canceled with my previous company. Today they did a regular bi-annual maintenance call. Some additional cleaning was done, however, I had been told about this at the last visit. We set a date for the fall. The prices are comparable to my prior company. DZO is responsive, professional and competent. I'm glad I gave them a try. Their performance exceeded my expectations!

Of course, once summer hit and we knew we needed the bigger unit, we called him and he basically told my husband to F off. Also, we later realized that he put a high-efficiency gas furnace in our attic which is non-conditioned space. Wrong! Condensate line would freeze up and trip the system constantly. Once again, when we inquired about it with him he told us to F off. We've had numerous other professionals tell us that the ductwork system in the attic and in the basement basically makes no sense whatsoever. The owners incompetence and lack of professional knowledge is only preceded by the fact that he it's just a total butt head, and his word and handshake mean nothing.
