This was of the best meals of my life. End of story. Well, it's not - I'll give a bit more detail…read more But this restaurant is certainly worthy of its 2-Michelin star status. The food was amazing, and the experience even better! We arrive as a group of four. The first room we entered is an ancient cave, where we had drinks and some pre-meal appetizers. The room was dedicated with beautiful art and sculptures. In the corner there was around $100,000 of music equipment - a turntable, large speakers and a record collection that belongs to the owner. They allowed us to play whatever we wanted, and it added so much to the experience! In the collection was a U2 album autographed by Bono who had been there a few months earlier - just sitting in a stack! It was really incredible. We were then given a tour of their 17th century wine cellar - absolutely amazing. Then, we were ushered into the dining room, which was intimate and beautiful. It was raining and dark, so we couldn't enjoy the beautiful views. However, the courses were served and each was better than the next. I don't want to give too much info on the food, since I'm sure the menu changes regularly. Pictures are attached. At the end of the evening, we got to see the kitchen as clean-up was happening. Obviously service was equally about bringing the food as it was providing an once-in-a-lifetime experience. And they accomplished that!

Greeted at the entrance of this historic stone tower on the shores of the Gulf of Naples by no less than four impeccably courteous staff members, we knew our evening was off to a good start. We began the dinner outside, starting off with cocktails (excellently prepared by the restaurant's sommelier) and a group of small plates. The setting is magic and no amount of explanation will top the experience itself. You can either choose the tower or the patio for the start of the meal, and if nice outside, I would highly recommend the outdoor setting just for the sheer views themselves. The small plates were brought to our table with our drinks in timely coordination. I will fail to remember the exact components of each plate, but they were all excellent. We then moved inside with our cocktails and were given a tour of the wine cellar as we ordered a bottle of white. The cellar itself is breathtaking and I could have spent hours browsing the vast selection of wines. We then moved to the main dining area where our group of four had a long rectangular table in the heart of the restaurant. We selected the five course tasing menu and I have to be honest, I simply don't think I could have stomached the 10 course, as even the five courses had almost eight or nine different components, all quite filling. I will not go through each as they are pictured, but highlights certainly included the risotto and the fish soup with 10 (12?) different varieties of noodles. Perhaps the most exciting part was getting a little peek within the chef's working space. The staff took such good care of us and we truly didn't want to leave; I think we spent a total of three hours from start to finish. The dessert just kept coming and it truly was impossible to say no despite how full we felt. I would recommend Torre del Saracino to anyone traveling to Vico Equense. I can only imagine what a three star Michelin would entail if this was just two stars. Beautifully done.
