I'll start by saying that this shop is for cigar people. A general "I like to carry a cigar to the country club" person might not get into this place. There are boxes strewn about of all the essentials and luxuries a cigar person looks for. They take all the space they can to provide all of what you need/want. When you walk in, there are always a few people sitting around relaxing a nice cigar. The people are courteous, and the customer service is second to none. When you walk in, it's sometimes hard to tell who works there because they're sitting enjoying a cigar, and they don't immediately bug you, which I like. If you stand there for a second, they're at the ready, but not obnoxiously on top of you because they don't recognize you and therefore are some "outsider" that must be interrogated. You can walk into the humidor, peruse the collection, and pick out your selection like any regular if you want. That said, they really take care of you. I had a lighter I bought a year before stop working. It was a Xikar, which of course has a lifetime warranty. He could've passed on it immediately and told me to go send it back to Xikar, but instead he took a few minutes and really worked to try and get it working. He also used some of his gas to clean it all out and refill it. They will also take time to answer questions about any cigars and help guide you to buying something you'll enjoy. Their selection is beautiful and has plenty of options. Overall, if you're looking for the cigar experience, or buying some for a friend, or just need to pick up your regular supply, you've found the right place, with the right people. I've lived 10 mins from this place for over 15 yrs and wish I had visited sooner. Amazing and helpful staff with inventory like I've never seen before! I mean the cigars go on and on. Been comin to this shop since 2005, haven't bought cigars and never have to anywhere else in OC. My humidor stays stocked can't be helped, with the awesome pricing you get more discounts by the box, not by per stick. Amar greets everyone with a "How ya Doing"...or if you been there awhile he'll hug ya like a bear and kiss you on the cheek. Ya the location is in a small strip mall and parking can be a pain but never a problem. The brands he carries are from A-Z, the humidor is spacious and packed with cigars from $6-$50, smoking cigars basically comes down to your palate so yeah that $13 stick could taste just as delicious as the $20 . The staff is more than helpful with the products. I have never seen anyone leave this place looking like they got ripped off or was treated badly. read more

Omar has the largest selection of cigars that I've seen in a cigar shop. The walk in humidor is HUGE, and you couldn't find friendlier, or more helpful staff. Attached is a large lounge that you can sit and have a drink and enjoy your purchase. If you enjoy cigars you have to make a trip to this shop. read more

I've been to a lot of cigar shops and this store did not have a big humidor like the previous reviewer states. Obviously he hasn't been there in awhile. They didn't even have a really big selection, which is what I normally look for when I visit a cigar shop. The person in the shop was not even really knowledgeable about cigars when I asked him for a certain one. It's kind of odd that the two reviewers who went to this place are related which is why they gave this place a high rating. read more

Hey guys JohnnyJ here. Great cigar store...the best on Orange County in my opinion. The location is funky but the cigars are priced right. Above all the smokes that are offered are amazing. The service is great and it is a cigar smokers welcoming place to hang, chill out with friends and have a pleasant relaxing cigar. Love the place and recommend Maxamar to all levels of cigar lovers. It is a great place for beginners to learn about the offerings and where to start. Most of the regulars have a pretty good knowledge of the cigar world and can help you with any question along with the sales staff. The management also puts on cigar events, while not over the top most of the time; you get most relevant cigar manufacturers visiting on a regular basis. So pull off the road and DO IT! I decided to visit Maxamar Ultimate Cigars based on the online reviews. Everyone had great things to say about the place, so I just had to see for myself. I was not disappointed. This is the best cigar place I have been to. The owner is awesome, such a friendly and accommodating guy. The workers are all great too. Everyone is easy to engage in a conversation with, as well as extremely helpful. Maxamar has great prices and the best cigars. I always find myself going back there because I can't get enough! Love it! Incredible selection of very well tended, fresh, and enjoyable cigars. If you walk in there with a doubt that you will find what you want, those doubts are immediately destroyed when you enter the walk-in humidor. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Simply one of the best cigar stores I've ever been to, mostly because of the staff. They don't carry every stick I'd like, but they carry just about everything else, the selection is massive. What really shines here though is the customer service - from Omar (the owner) down to Andrew, Ben, Tom, and anyone else I'm leaving out, they're knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. You really can't ask for more. Yeah the lounge is a little busted, but you know what? It's just the right amount of busted, as far as I'm concerned. read more

This place is awesome. They have the biggest selection of cigars I've ever seen. You can chill out and smoke here too. The manager even offered me espresso at no charge. The people hanging out seem chill, and the service is excellent. I'll definitely go back. The prices are reasonable as well but they don't have any yelp deals or specials-- but the service and selection more than make up for that. This is the place for cigars. Fantastic humidor and fairly priced cigars, friendly and helpful people. Mixes available for self-provided favorite spirit, and lounge area is unassuming (which is fine by me) but comfortable. The only recommendations I would suggest to owner, install quality air scrubbers. read more
