I can understand some of the one stars, but they are seriously unfair. This pawnshop has been through so much, high turnover, training and employee retention, but staff has survived. These are brave employees working with some of the most challenging customers there are. I have been buying and pawning with this location for years. I have seen a fellow come in with a shopping cart full of junk, and the staff had to spend over half an hour going through it. Totally unprofessional. A little after 2 PM on 4/30/26 I waited in line for 45 minutes w/the woman behind me in line bumping in to me a couple times and getting way too close. After the only counter the employees appeared to be using opened up I approached it. Wasn't acknowledged and was ignored for a few minutes until the lady behind the counter, Tatiana, signaled the rude lady behind me to step forward even though I was in front of her. Let her know I was next in line and had been patiently waiting for a long time (unlike the lady behind me who repeatedly bumped me). She then caught an attitude and accused me of stepping out of the line (That I was at the front of). Ended up having to wait for another employee. He was nice, no problem w/him. She then tried to make it look as though I was complaining about him by commenting that he was new! Don't know where she got that from!!! I reiterated that I wasn't complaining about him in the slightest and suggested he get a raise. Unfortunately he had to call Tatiana over for help & I mentioned to her that I never stepped out of the line & she responded with "Is that how you talk to women?!"!!! Been coming to this shop for twenty years & have never had an issue at all before today. That's the response I get for asking why she took the lady BEHIND me in line BEFORE me?!?! What was she trying to insinuate?! How I talk to women...? I kept it respectful, I didn't raise my voice, curse or call her out of her name in any way & that was her response?! Just wow. I don't think interacting w/the public is the job for her. She's lazy and instigating nonsense w/customers so has an excuse to throw them out and be able to shorten the long line faster. I see her! I won't be giving you any more of my business going forward if I see her again or deal w/anyone with that kind of attitude. Absolutely not. I recommend/advise keeping her in back to clean toilets if you choose to keep her and her rude incompetence employed...Her attempt to de-escalate the the situation SHE CAUSED was laughable. I was going to Bloomington and Crystal office often for months. Buying and sometimes pawning. I had a $900 computer on layaway for months and 4 other things but paid them off first but always made my pymt on time until I had emergency surgery and was in hospital for weeks. I had my mom call to tell them before the due date (she went into the Bloomington store) and didn't call. They told her it was fine and I could pay when I got out due to circumstances. I got out and went there right away and found out they sold my computer. I looked around and found nothing I needed or wanted that was the $565 I put down. All he said was come back and check that they always put stuff out. So I went in about every 2 weeks. This time I just said I want my money back that they never have new stuff I want . The new person said my money is gone and have to call Corp and that the old employee that of course nolonger works there should have told me I had a total of 6 months and should have gave me a paper saying this . In this economy $565 is a lot of money no one would just forfeit money like that but the guy said nothing but come back and look. I was totally happy with employees and experiences until I was lied to and crossed. I will never shop there again. read more

Brought in nice audio receiver and forgot the power cord. They wouldn't even look at it or give me a reduced price. It only needed a basic AC cord.... whatever. Then I brought in some apparently bad branded fake speakers to sell. They still sound fine and worked but they didn't want them. When I ask if I could dump them there the store clerk said yes. Then the manager over heard and said no. As a result the store clerk watched me like a hawk and threatened to call the cops if I were to leave anything there, unsolicited. Including coming outside to watch me physically load the stuff back into my car. I don't know. It was a fairly rude customer experience. I won't be returning to sell or purchase anything here. I understand I'm sure any pawn shop deals with some annoying customers but I was being polite and still was treated rudely. read more

Somewhat late to the review game, I must admit. However, I noticed a string of sub-par reviews ranging from mildly unimpressed to outright angry. While those are certainly valid, I have to put in my two-cents worth of positivity. Going on three years ago now I was accompanying my roommate while finishing some errands. He wanted to poke around the tools and some electronics. I was, at the time interested in finding an older model Lenovo t-series laptop for around $250, and had been actively searching online in the marketplaces for one with no luck. I had no expectation of finding anything so particular in a pawnshop, and their display models offered no hint of a susprise. But I asked anyway. "You ever get anything in a Lenovo for around $250? Just curious if I should ever check back." The fella behind the counter grinned and knelt below the low shelves and pulled a lenovo T430 to the countertop. Lo and behold! And it proved much more than I had hoped to find. coming pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro edition and a one year service warranty. He scrounged around for a power source to complete the ensemble. I didn't have the dough at the time, but he happily arranged to keep it on lay-away for the two weeks I assured him i would need for a mere $35. All totaled, $285. Service was grand. Price was right. And if you have something specific in mind, I'd recommend not simply taking what's on display at face value. You might be pleasantly surprised if you take a little time to ask. I like to explore pawn shops its what I do and I don't got no shame. I have always been curios about Max It everytime I drive by the freeway it just looks huge! so I went this weekend just to see if I can find some nik nacs When I first step it I was greeted right away which was nice I looked around and it just seemed to me its more of a bike shop a lot of bicycles and a lot of car tires. There building burned down.. They didnt bother to contact me to let me know that they lost my item that i trusted them with.. And now they refuse to reanburse me for the item! They said they stopped paying restatution a month ago... Horrible company so shady. Some how its my fault for not knowing they lost my merchandise and didn't bother to inform me about restatution. Yes im very upset! I guess people need to have physic abilitys now adays to know about a very small window of time that that " reanburse" you for there mistake and failure to keep your merchandise safe. Lastly i still have the ticket and was well within the alloted time to pick up my pawned item and still refuse to reanburse me.!! I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about, but this place keeps getting better! Tons of bikes and jewelry. Most of the employees like to joke with you and have fun and don't mind trying to give you a better deal. Some of the customers are a little sketchy but it IS a pawn shop. The bearded guy and the tall guy with glasses seem to give the best deals so go to them if they are working. read more

She started to process my order and left for a half an hour. When she came back she whined at the other lady working demanding she cover her shifts. Then I waited some more until a man helped me. If I could give it no stars, I would. My husband and I went in on a Saturday afternoon to see what they had. There were only about 4 other people in the store when we arrived. We found something we wanted to look at and by then we were one of two customers left. There were 4 employees in the store, but no one could come and help us. After about 5 minutes, we decided to leave and on the way out I said something to them. The one gal said if we wanted help we had to stand in line at the register. Bullshit! Others were being helped without standing in that line. As a customer if I have to go ask for help, I'm not going to shop there. Especially if there are employees standing around not helping anyone. Was a good customer until I put a ring on layaway. 10% down was 300 dollars. Changed mind a few days later and they kept my 300 dollar deposit. It says you lose money on receipt yet very sad and feel a business like this has no business taking advantage of people in Minnesota. Filing a complaint with Attorney General office. This is a terrible place to do business. Twice now the associates have pulled my items before their due date and selling them. The most recent situation happened Friday, February 15th, 2013 and their excuse was "we apologize, we have a new system..." saying that I would be able to put a different TV on layaway, but would need to pay full price, $200 MORE THAN MY BRAND NEW TV (STILL IN THE BOX) THEY SOLD. My boyfriend's PS3 was also sold before his due date and the store's associates blamed it on "the new system". This store definitely needs help as they have cost me personal items which had sentimental value to them. The associates have no remorse and do not own up to their faults. I have tried to file a complaint and have not gotten anywhere, but have followed up with the BBB. Max It Pawn is a COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!! read more

The employees are very nice, but they give out incorrect and misleading information. I was told twice that the item I was purchasing could be returned within 24 hours of purchase, however, they never mentioned that I would just get a store credit, not my money back. Seems like a pretty important thing to mention. I had to find this out AFTER I got back home with my item. Not happy at all. read more
