Really great experience with Lucas at the Jewelry Exchange in Eagan. I stopped in to see if they bought gold as I had some old jewelry I was ready to part with. Turns out they don't, but I'd also been looking for a gold bangle to go with a beautiful tennis bracelet of my mother's. Lucas showed me their selection, and the price for the gold bangle I liked was much lower than prices I'd seen at Macy's and other stores. I decided to buy it! Why not! I feel like the tennis bracelet by itself got lost on my arm but the bangle makes it really pop! I also had a unique pendant I wanted to wear but my necklace clasp would not fit through the pendant. I bought our engagement ring here in 2012 and could not be happier. I'm one of those people hat obsessively research products and compare prices to no end. I do not make a large purchase without spending significant time making sure I'm getting the best value for my money. I bought my engagement ring here only after going to all of the jewelry stores and chains I could find in the twin cities (I did not go to multiple locations of chains.) I chose to make my 3rd biggest purchase ever (behind my house and car) at the Jewelry Exchange in Eagan for two reasons: 1. My research showed that their prices were competitive. When I told them I had found competing prices at another store they were able to beat the other store no problem. 2. The customer service. Of course you expect a place where you spend this much money to treat you well, however that's not always the case. Especially Jared has treated my like crap, I suspect because I'm under 30?? However here at the jewelry exchange they could not have been nicer. I did not feel any sales pressure. As I said I research extensively. As a result I ask lots of questions. At he jewelry exchange that was not a problem, they were patient with me and answered every last question I had. Even when I walked out to come back another day with my now wives best friend there was no sales pressure. Just an attitude of 'let us know how we can help'. I had the pleasure of working with Joshua who is super friendly and helpful. When I bought the engagement ring the manager, Joseph, also showed a personal interest in earning my business. Both of these guys along with everyone else at the store are super friendly and really take care of you. We have taken advantage of the free cleaning and inspections every 6 months. Again they could not be friendlier. The repair area is in the middle of the store and has Windows so your diamonds are never out of sight. I'm always impressed with what a difference the cleaning makes. Fast forward to Christmas after our second anniversary. My wife asked for some diamond studs. Not to be satisfied too easily I shopped around and researched again. I ended up buying here again because of the same reasons I ended up here in the first place. Great value for my money and an awesome staff. Joshua is the one that sold me the earnings and was again patient and informative. Joseph even remembered me when I walked in. Impressive! I do like that it seems to be the same people working there even years later. That means to me that they treat their people well enough to stick around. Treating your employees well is just another feather in their cap. Overall I would highly recommend making the Jewelry exchange a stop when you're shopping for anything that involves diamonds. I bought an engagement ring from them less than a year ago and within the first 6 months the ring lost 1 stone and 5 others were loose including the center stone. They fixed it and we got it back. Only having the ring back for about a month the ring completely broke into two pieces. They sent the ring off and found out that it fell apart, no fault of ours. They made us a completely new ring and now within about 2 months with the new ring this one is losing stones and the center stone is either cracked or has a bad scratch in it. We have had enough with this company and bought a new ring from a different company. They are refusing to refund me my money that I paid for a cheaply made ring that is made from cheap quality. I am the fiancee of Cody K, the one who left a review below along with a picture of the broken ring. I find it humorous that George R.'s reply bashes Cody. Says he "raised his voice and spoke rudely and with inappropriate language" to their people. This is funny because I'm actually the one that did most of the communicating and I work in customer service - I take great pride in my customer service skills because I know how to treat customers both inside and outside of the company which clearly the Jewelry Exchange does not. To begin with, the ring was purchased in April, I started wearing it in May, had to take it in in September because FIVE....yes you read that correctly...FIVE diamonds were loose. I brought the ring in and the "customer service manager" Joseph was rude, talked down to me, and argued that the stones were fine. When the center stone is spinning in place...that's not fine. He calls me over, touches the stone and what do you know? It moved! At that point he started backtracking and said "oh, let me take another look". He comes back and says there are five loose and his jeweler needs to fix it. I was understanding and left them my ring. Now fast forward to mid-October, the ring breaks in two pieces!!!! I wore it for less than 6 months and it breaks in two! It's gold, how in the world does real gold just snap on someone's finger?! Cody shared a photo and you can clearly see it just broke. Mind you, I work at a call center. I answer phones and type for a living - nothing too strenuous. We take it in and we were extremely patient and cordial woth Joseph and the team that was working. There was even a woman working there that admitted she would not have sold that style, that the halo style really shouldn't be worn as an everyday jewelry. Joseph stated they needed to send it to corporate to determine how to handle the situation. Corporate decided to re-cast it. I got it back in November. Fast forward to January 1st and it loses a diamond!!! We gave this company SO many chances to redeem themselves and they have epically failed each and every time. And to top it off, as I can see from George R.'s reply to Cody - they will stand behind their rude and inconsiderate employees but NOT behind their product! I asked Joseph what his thoughts were, why did we have issues with this ring? His reply, "I don't know, I don't design the rings, I don't make the rings." No, BUT you sell them. As a customer service representative myself I can tell you that you never say this to a customer. You do your best and do right by that customer. I took it to their corporate office and spoke to Marie (the National Customer Service Manager) myself. Hoping that she would be more sympathetic to the situation and be more apt and willing to resolve it. She was no better. Could not give me options for a solution other than "send in the ring". I told her at this point we just want our money back, you can keep your faulty product, we just want our money. Her exact words, "you will not get your money back". How is this ok? You robbed us twice! First when you sold us the ring and second when you refused to give us back our money. Shame on you. We just want to be done with this company. Can you understand now why we would take this to social media?! This was not a "smear campaign" - this was us sharing our HONEST experience and frustration with the company as a whole - with their product and especially their employees. They were very friendly and helpful, we told them we would be looking at other stores to see what we liked. They told us if we found a ring at a different store they could have it made exactly to our specifications. We ended up back there and had a ring custom made, and it turned out beautiful. They had many diamonds to chose from, they had lower quality and higher quality diamonds, and it was nice to have to have the option to save some money and get a larger diamond with a few more flaws, or a higher quality diamond without the flaws. We started our engagement ring shopping here, that's where we met Amir. He told us they didn't work on commission and there was no pressure. But we definitely felt pressured. We didn't find what we were looking for, but at the last minute they found something close. The reviews were good so I thought I could trust them. I had to go back twice because the prongs were loose and catching on everything. The second time I noticed one of the smaller prongs had snapped clean off. When I went in, Amir was working again. He fixed the large prong again, but then pretended he couldn't see the smaller broken prong. It was clear as day! He finally admitted to seeing it and ordered me a new setting. When I went to pick it up they charged me $70 for resetting it! I only paid $40 the first time! I was so upset by the whole experience I didn't even want the setting anymore, it just made me feel taken advantage of. I went to Shane Company, they were amazing, but they still didn't have what we were looking for. We bought my husband's band there and it was a great experience. I ended up finding my ring at Wedding Day Diamonds. Everyone was awesome and the even bought my crappy setting off of me. I wish I would have bought my diamond there because they guarantee if it ever falls out, they'll replace it for free! My husband originally bought my wedding ring from the store in Arizona where we used to live. Very nice & helpful there. A few years later a stone fell out from the channel setting & took it to the store in Edina. Joseph helped us and I must say he was very helpful but I was very upset at the condition my ring looked under the magnifier. I had princess cut diamonds in the channel setting & they looked all twisted & more were ready to fall out. I dont wear my ring much so I thought my husband was sold a bad ring. Found out the princess cut channel setting doesnt hold up well & had to send my ring to corporate twice before it was acceptable. It was also pricey but it looked good and the coating was fixed. For my 5th wedding anniversary last week my husband surprised me with getting me a band for the other side of the ring. He had been working with Joseph who recommended taking off the original band and getting two round cut bands for each side of the diamond. He bent over backwards to help us and make us happy after the last event. When the band came in had it saudered, cleaned, & dipped & it is beautiful. I've waited a few days before leaving this review because I was perplexed on how everything turned out. When I purchased my rings I immediately found what I was looking for. I'll admit I knew it wasn't going to be as high of quality as my Simon G. engagement ring, I wasn't expecting this. Immediately a man working there approached asking to take a closer look at my ring because my sapphires were "exquisite." A little awkward but I tried not to read into it. I made my purchase and one of the rings was not in stock. No big deal. I was quoted a price for the soldering and sizing. I went home and awaited the arrival of my second ring. A few days later it was in! I went back and then it started... As I was paying I was told a completely different price than originally quoted for the soldering and sizing. It would be around the same price I paid for both rings. (over $200) I brought my mother with me this time and she made a comment that I should walk away because the price kept going up every second I was standing there. The person helping me was obviously irritated so I apologize for misunderstanding his original quote. He then got really upset and went and got the manager. (yes, I apologized to him) The manager smoothed things over and agreed to charge me half the price of what the sales person quoted. Still high but I agreed. My center stone is a CZ due to personal preferences and it was confirmed that the ring could be soldered not harming the center stone. When I picked it up everything looked very nice until I stepped outside. I then noticed that the center stone was cracked. The manager offered to replace the stone. Again, I agreed and I was on my way. I returned again for the 3rd time and this time the stone he ordered was incorrectly ordered. Sometimes these things can't be helped. I had to go out of town to take care of my ailing grandmother and I noticed that a diamond from the new ring was already missing. This was peculiar because when I was quoted the outrageous price for soldering and sizing I was told it was so expensive because they had to go in and make sure all of the facets were secure so no diamonds would fall out. Upon inspection I could see other diamonds spinning around in the setting. I brought it back for the 4th time and the manager agreed to replace the missing stone as well as a small stone I was missing from my original band, to secure the rest at the same time he was replacing the center stone. It only took a few hours which was nice but when I picked it up... the old center stone had basically been pried out with pliers and the new one was added in the same way leaving the prongs weakened and offset. You can see where he based it with a different set of pliers. These left deep gouges all over the setting. I brought it back to my original jeweler who stated that the quality of the stones in the new rings were very low quality and confirmed that they had compromised the structure of my original ring. This is difficult to do because the structure of this particular brand of ring is solid. Something to last a lifetime and beyond. Now I have to pay for my original jeweler to fix the entire thing. While the manager Joseph was polite and tried to make things right, I did not appreciate the other sales person or the goldsmith. Half way through I told my husband by the time this was all said and done I should have just spent the money on the matching Simon G band because it would cost us just as much, and it did. Oh and btw, I heard this same situation with the soldering and sizing issue with 3 different customers during my many visits. I was not alone. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. I bought a wedding ring setting here, and have had SIX small diamonds fall out in 3 years. The first was around 11-12 months, the second at 13 months. The other four fell out all in a row in the past three months. They refuse to let me exchange the ring saying they only have a 1 year warranty. They INSIST this is NORMAL wear and tear. I do not do hard labor I sit at a desk typing all day. This ring is clearly flawed and a piece of junk. They DO NOT guarantee their jewelry. Forget thinking you will buy a wedding ring there you can have for life. Mine hasn't lasted three years. They will not give me any money for the band, and today the manager insisted none of the other popular jewelry companies would do that either. He also insisted they would not guarantee their rings this long either (so saying other stores have the same policy). FLAT OUT LIE. I went to two different jewelry stores so far (Jareds and Kaye) and they BOTH offered to buy it from me to put it toward a trade in on another ring. In addition, today at Jared I was told they have a LIFETIME warranty on their rings as long as you have them checked every six months. They replace everything. You can also trade in your ring AT ANY TIME for the value you paid for it to be used toward purchasing a different ring. I was clearly lied to at the Jewelry Exchange. I think their customer service is RIDICULOUS and I would NEVER tell anyone to go there. So-if you want to buy a wedding ring that lasts a year, go there. Otherwise, stear clear. read more

Thanks to store manager Joseph, I now have a lovely pair of diamond earrings I CANNOT wear! I brought my 2012 Christmas present ( diamond studs earrings) in for exchange ( I prefer a drop earring) for an extra charge of $80.00 they could do that for me. When I picked them up 2 weeks later the clip on one earring did not close properly, something to do with the spring iin the clip.. Joseph was appalled by the poor "quality control" and promised to send them out by Federal Express costing him $100.00! I picked the earring up again the same problem I suspect Joseph NEVER sent them to be repaired. NOW he tells me this is the best he can do. As I first stated I have a pair of diamond earrings that I cannot wear until I bring them to another jeweler for repair. I trusted I would recieve a quality product at a great price from The Jewelry Exchange, and received neither. Joseph was deceitful and dishonest. I will never recommend anyone going to them. If fact...whenever I see one of their ads I voice my opinion to anyone near me of the poor service and product I received from The Jewelry Exchange. Shame on you Joseph. read more
