I brought in my wedding rind after having Kay Jewlers look at it for repair. Kay Jewlers was going to take up to 2 months to have the ring looked at, estimated, repaired and returned. And the minimum was going to be $400. Apple Valley Diamonds took 3 days, minus the weekend, and they charged me $60. I'll be giving all my jewelry business to Apple Valley Diamonds. Eli took over for Bill and continues to provide the best customer service and really care that you are satisfied with every piece of jewelry you purchase whether it is an extremely expensive piece or not. The greatest thing they did for me was take my Mom's jewelry that was broken and couldn't be fixed and made the most amazing heart pendant that I have ever seen. I bought my fiancé her engagement ring here. We found a great deal on a loose diamond. From the moment we started this process we both felt uncomfortable with this place. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, much to my chagrin. They have not been able to do something as simple as set the diamond correctly (straight) in the setting. It is still not square to the setting, in spite of taking it back there three separate times. We also had one of my fiancé's mother's rings rhodium plated. This was done so poorly such that the sides of the ring were ground down and the channel setting is no longer able to house the diamonds. And has rough edges where diamonds are coming out! When we approached the owner during our final visit, the owner accused me of not telling the truth. I take this very personally. Lying is not something I do! This behavior is cowardly and a sign that they are not confident or knowledgeable about their product. During one of our initial visits, there where other customers complaining of similar problems. I didn't think much of this at the time but in hindsight I should've listened to my spider sense. I have spent over $20,000 on a ring I am not totally happy about and now have to take it somewhere else to get it fixed. One of the biggest issues here is that their goldsmith is not on the premises. Therefore, any custom work has to go out of the shop and come back. When the product returns there is no quality inspection to make sure that the product has been completed as promised. Very disappointed....almost nauseous! read more
