I haven't yet purchased jewelry from continental diamond but I have now gone there for watch batteries. Not only is the price reasonable ($25 as of November 2025), but they are very friendly. As well, on Saturdays they have a bar! There are more economical options for watch battery replacements BUT if you want (1) friendly service, (2) a free drink, (3) some fun jewelry to peruse as you wait, I highly recommend. They completed my 4 watch battery replacements in about 10 minutes and gave me a discount for changing four at once. Would recommend and will be back! read more

For many years I purchased jewelry and the service was very good and personal. I went in recently to look at diamond hoops. I had some I bought there and was told I couldn't trade and my jewelry wasn't worth anything. I was immediately insulted. I was not asked if they could show me the diamond hoops since I was interested in some new ones. I asked about appraisals on my past jewelry and they said they now had to charge $50, for each, even though I had just had almost 10, recently. During this conversation, they said we'll clean your jewelry. It was very busy with a trunk show and I asked is my jewelry was all together. They assured me. I received my jewelry and put it in a pouch I had in my purse. The next morning I pulled everything out and my 9 C. Tennis Bracelet was missing!!! I called very upset and was told, there's nothing here". I said, are you sure???!!!, I know you cleaned it. She insisted and I said can you check. She came back and asked me to describe it. Then she said, "I have it in my hand". I was shocked and told her this is so IRRESPONSIBLE!! I ASKED WHY DIDNT YOU FIND IT BEFORE?? She said it was UNDER THE CLEANING BASKET!! Wow!! I have bought so much from them in the past. I Won't Be Back!! Why wasn't it seen???!! One guy got on the phone and said, "You had a lot of jewelry ". Is that why they loose your jewelry?? I needed a recent purchased apprised for insurance purposes and found Continental Diamond during a Yelp search. I called about ten minutes before they opened (I didn't realize this) and was told the staff was in a staff meeting but the woman took my information down and I received a call shortly after. I was told they were booked for appraisals for the rest of the month but overheard someone in the background mentioning a cancelation. I don't know if this was a tactic or not but I brought my piece in the same day. When I arrived they took a quick photo of my ring and handed me a slip of paper with my information and the photo. I really appreciated that because you hear all these horror stories of not getting the stone back that you bring in at other jewelers- this would prevent that. You can find their pricing online but I paid $85 for one piece of jewelry to be appraised. There was a little confusion on when I could pick up the piece. The sales rep on the phone told me I could come back next day (Wednesday). When I called the following day they told me I couldn't pick it up for another day (Thursday)- but my slip said Wednesday. Overall it wasn't a huge deal, I just missed my engagement ring lol. I got a huge envelope of paperwork and I thought the appraisal was spot on (higher than I thought actually). My insurance company had zero issues with the paperwork provided. I would go back in the future! read more

I've been in the store several times to browse watches. Both Andy and Michael have helped me and both have been extremely helpful and flexible. Not just that they are genuinely nice guys. We went here to try on engagement rings to get an idea of the style that I prefer prior to purchasing. Immediately upon walking in, we were offered something to drink and directed towards someone that could help us in our search. I was very happy with the speed of service, as the store was already fairly busy. I would definitely return to this location to handle any jewelry needs that I may have in the future. We were attentively cared for throughout the process and our sales associate kept our budget in mind when recommending rings to try on. They really do have as large of a selection as they advertise! Once we were finished trying on various styles, our sales associate wrote down our contact information and recorded the rings that I preferred and my size so that my boyfriend didn't have to remember everything when he came back (big help!). My entire experience with Continental Diamond has been nothing but amazing. My fiancé and I looked at rings in the fall, and the woman we worked with was extremely helpful. She was knowledgeable and seemed to really get what I wanted. After my fiancé proposed, we went back to look at wedding bands and got a cute gift bag (I won't spoil what was in it). Flash to a few months later, and we're about to leave town to see my family for the first time since we got engaged and have some engagement photos taken, and I waited until the night before we left to get it cleaned. This just so happened to fall on one of the worst snowfalls of the year. I called to see if they were closing early (they were) and I booked it to the store from work (a drive that ended up taking an hour). Honest jeweler! Five years ago I took my wife's Swiss watch into a Ridgedale Mall jeweler to have them change the battery. Three weeks later I was informed that it couldn't be changed without almost $300 of additional work being done (cleaning etc). So it sat since that time. I've been doing business with Continental over the years, but really never made a large purchase until recently ... mostly it has been watch service and batteries. Yet, I've always felt welcome. Jim went way beyond the call of duty recently when it came to having a brand new watch engraved with my daughter's name. The staff at Conteniental was very helpful; providing insight and knowledge about diamonds, rings and settings. Continental is on the first floor of an office building in St Louis Park (the building Clear Channel occupies - KDWB, Cities 97, etc...). Alot of the clientel at Continetal are Vikings and Twins players. I had to have my ring sized and resized because it didn't fit properly with my wedding band. They were always so gracious and kind. When you walk in Continetal (no matter if you are dressed up or in jeans) the staff is always very kind and ready to assit. They don't scoff at you. There are always snacks and drinks offered immediately. They have a bar and almost a full spread of food around Christmas/New Years. About a week ago my wife lost a stone on her engagement ring. We were both distraught. We went to continental diamond and were expecting to pay through the nose for a replacement. That couldn't have been further from the truth. First of all a repair specialist Natalie diagnosed the issue immediately (the wedding band was rubbing on the stones and causing damage) and suggested a solution of soddering the two together. My wife was hesitant but she told her about all the pros and was able to convey this was the correct course of action. No pressure or sales pitch. Just this is what caused the problem and here is a solution. As far as the replacement for the lost stone they were extremely competitive with pricing and because of their connections in the industry will be able to source a rare stone to match the others without issue. I can't put into words how much I love my engagement ring. BEST EXPERIENCE EVER (and most beautiful diamonds). As the bride, I didn't get the pleasure to work with Nancy Lach until I was engaged. My now husband met with Nancy, told her exactly what he wanted and together, they created my dream engagement ring. From his description of his experience, it was truly a custom experience (from start to finish). When I first heard he went to a jewelry store, I was blown away because I thought he would have gone to a "diamond guy," buy the diamond and customize the ring. Little did I know that at Continental, you can do just that. You can pick out a ring setting from their displays or you can design a ring from scratch. My husband told her the size of diamond he wanted and asked for a really sparkly one (men are so funny). He said he went into a backroom where he was able to look at different diamonds. He ended up going with a Crafted by Infinity diamond from Belgium (it's stunning). This is available in the states at less than 20 other jewelers. Continental has such an exclusive selection. He then worked with Nancy to customize everything else. I know you can get a diamond online or at any other jeweler, but this is where my five stars comes into play. I needed to get my ring adjusted to the appropriate size, so I went in to see if Nancy was in and this was when I fell in love with Continental. Nancy stepped away from the customers she was with to meet me, congratulate me and tell me all about the diamond my husband selected for me. She has the most charming and charismatic personality. You can't help but love Nancy as soon as you meet her. She makes you feel like you're her best and only customer. And let me tell you - not many people have that kind of charisma. Since meeting her, I've stopped in quite a bit. When you decide to buy your ring at continental, you get a lifetime of complimentary ring cleanings, adjustments, good conversation and COOKIES! I have needed to adjust my ring size, clean it multiple times (they make rings sparkle like you've never seen) and get it tightened - every time, free of charge. Now if you were to buy your engagement or wedding rings online, you are surrendering that aspect of customer service for a few dollars less. I am so happy knowing that I have a lifetime warranty with our rings and friendly faces to adjust and clean my ring when needed. I want to give out to Carrie (Kari?) who has helped me a significant amount with my adjustments and has been amazing to work with (I might just happen to be one of their more high maintenance clients, but I would never know if I were). I ended up getting the watch at another store ($150 cheaper) but their pricing was still very competitive. I really love this store. One of the most special times in your life revolves around the diamond business and Continental Diamond does everything right. The management team is extraordinaire. Customer service is what they are known for and it shows right when you walk in the door. The staff are friendly and warm, but also very knowledgable and not pushy as some other jewelers tend to be. My husband bought my engagement ring here. He said even though this was one of his biggest purchases thus far, he felt confident that he was in good hands. I'm still in awe at my ring. Would Never Recommend - Women Beware I was told that it would take a week to get a repair estimate and that all repair work would be done by Continental. A week later I got a call saying the estimate had been completed. They sort of assume that you will go along with any estimate from my perspective but I told them I'd think about it and ring them back the next day or pick up my jewelry. I decided against it after doing further research so went to pick up my jewelry. When I arrived, they couldn't find it. Eventually they realized that it had been sent out to another jewelers for the repair estimate. I was irritated to say the least. They told me it would be returned in a week. I reminded them that they had told me they did all the repair work and that waiting another week and then having to make another trip to collect my jewelry was not acceptable. During this, a male employee came and interrupted the woman who was helping me. He insisted that "He would handle it and the woman said OK and backed off." Initially I was going to let him take over and then I thought, "What the hell is going on here? This woman is perfectly capable of handling this issue so why am I going to allow this to take place?" As such I told the male his assistance was not needed. He continued to insist that he would handle it. I again told him that she was helping me and I was not interested in his assistance. I then asked the female clerk a question and he replied. I reminded him that I wasn't talking to him. Eventually, it was clear that the only way he could restrain himself from coming in and "saving" the day and taking over for this "poor, helpless, young woman" was to leave the area, and that's what he did. She and I reached and agreement and on my way out I told her that she shouldn't let men step in and take over for her as she was perfectly capable of assisting me and did so to my satisfaction. The entire thing was an episode from every woman's work experience at some point in their lives, sadly. How insulting for and to this young woman! I would never do business with this jeweler for many reasons but particularly because of the culture that clearly exists. There are plenty of good jewelers in the Twin Cities, why support this kind of sexist, demeaning behavior? I'd advise everyone to look elsewhere, especially women. read more
