Ill bet the outfield was only about 170 feet and netting is used to catch the HR hit. They do have nice bleachers for fans and the dug outs are cute and cozy. The food shack has typical stuff like hot dogs, popcorn, candy. Nice little park given the compact nature of it. The boys loved playing here.

It's one of the finest youth baseball parks you're going to find in the Metroplex maybe in the country. The field is TURF!! It's located off Harry Hines in downtown Dallas walking distance from the American Airlines Center. It has a park lot of about 25 spaces.

My last three trips were for this year's Memorial Day activities in support of Carry the Load. This park comes to a new life when there is a large event such as the very noble Carry the Load. Reverchon's beautiful greenery, powerful oaks and gentle rolling meadows are accented with the dark reddish sandstone walls and structures that soothes the soul. It is almost like a slice of Eden.To see this impressive park comfort those grieving as they remember the fallen military, police, fire and other first responders validates its role as a magnanimous friend. It fosters the catharsis and healing needed by many. The trip up and down from the Katy trail (which is high above) can be as challenging as you want to achieve and as beautiful as you want to view. I like the winding stone steps. There are observation terraces, conversation pits, and nature everywhere. It is shielded by quiet Dallas high rises just far enough away. The quiet serenity at night is in contrast to its vibrant life during the day. It retains the natural attraction whether it is a hand full of park goers to over ten thousand. It's great for the dogs, kids and oldtimers like me. There are some sport facilities for the team sport athletes. And of course there are the trails. There is a lack of immediate parking which I think helps retain its natural beauty . There are lots and streets to park if you decide not to go on foot. The adjoining recreation center has all you could want or need. The food and drink options are not too far away and some are world renown. If you need mental cleansing or some quiet reflection, Reverchon Park is the place to stroll.

It's a pretty wide open park, where you could run with a kite or play some ball. There's also a bike and jogging trail that runs around the park that runs about a half mile or so. There's some good sized trees around the perimeter of the park for shade, and a big shade over a playground. There are certainly places to get out of the sun around here. It's a nice park, with lots of parking. It's a family friendly place, but is only outfitted with port-a-potties. The park is lit at night, but they turn off the lights around 9:30p or so.

What was unfortunate was the confusion with the pre-paid parking. It sent us one direction and the grounds attendants weren't helpful in guiding us. After driving around for a bit, we found a place to park and they never scanned our parking pass or collected money. (Next time we'll just head there and see where we can park rather than pre-pay). It was easy to get to the Cotton Bowl itself as they had clear signage to direct you to one side of the stadium for entry. While it is a nostalgic stadium, you realize how we've grown accustomed to more modern amenities (e.g. seats with backs, restrooms that are easy to navigate in/out without steps). The concessions were right in the front when you entered and easy to navigate.

The parking staff left our driver driving in circles, while he was trying to figure out where to drop us off and even the drop-off point was an empty parking lot away from the building. Luckily, we had an easy in, scan your bags and get a drink! Unfortunately, ordering off the concession stand menu is like a playing a game of jeopardy, place your order in the form of a question since there is no guarantee they are even offering it at the time. Although they claim to serve wine, they didn't yet it remains on the menu. So, on with the scavenger hunt from stand to stand for wine, wouldn't it just make sense to simply cross what you don't serve off of the menu and save us a few miles in that sweatbox? At this venue you learn to settle, bud light or a can of seltzer, take your pick. Either way you pay, over a dollar an ounce with a limit of 2 per passenger. Coldplay was great, loved the show. Consider saving a bottle of water and looking for a buggy ride for the after show exit, the walk seems even longer on the way out.. Cheers!
