The person over the phone said yes that's fine if you want to just pop in we can get you in and out. I get into the office they say you have an appointment for 2pm. 2 hours later than when I arrived in the office. Asked the guy at the desk who it was that just spoke to because they said it was going to be quick. He tells me it was the answer service guy. Then says he has nobody that can change the tire now. Drove to install and the tires were not there and they said they had to order them. They repriced the tires and said they were close to 70% MORE but they would give me a $100 discount for the multiple errors and inconvenience. Unacceptable. Why would you make an appointment if you don't have enough technicians. Also be careful they tend to over tighten the lug nuts and cross thread them. Went in for new tires left with more problems. Had to get brand new tires. When I got there they were like you need new brakes. I let them change them. Worst mistake ever. My brakes sounded worst then when I brought my car in. I should have brought my car back but I was hoping the noise and squeaking would stop. It never did, and now a year later, I need new brakes again. Thoroughly upset that I have to pay for new brakes again within a year of me having them done. The old brakes I had were the original ones I had from when I bought my car 4 years ago. They lasted way longer. These brakes didn't even make it 25,000 miles. I will never come back again. While Mel gets 5 stars for his warm personality, the overall experience with this Mavis is average, unfortunately. I booked my appointment by phone and the guy who booked it said he'd honor the online tire pricing of $191 for my 2 tires and it would take less than an hour for installing and balancing, not saying that alignment should be done, would cost extra, and take extra time. I never rec'd any email, text or phone confirmations about my appointment. I did put it immediately into my calendar. Now being the busy person I am, I forgot to call to confirm and just showed up. Fortunately, they did have me in the system but they'd just deleted me because they said I never responded to any of the confirmation attempts. They claimed they had the wrong phone # in the system and they'd left multiple voicemail messages. Also, instead of 45 min, it took 1 hr 45 min. I had told them I needed to be out of there in 1 hr 30 min, so I ended up late for an appointment. They also charged me $204.99 per tire instead of the $191 I was told they'd honor. I had to call to get the difference credited back. Also, I didn't apparently need an alignment per my husband, but I didn't know that and that was another $150 to an already hefty tab. Lastly, going into this location (center island on Rt 22) and getting out of this location is like a suicide mission. I'd much rather prefer going to the 2470 Rt 22 location, which is where I went last time, and which is probably where I'm going to go next time. read more

Last visit, I confirmed service requested and price. When I picked up my car they had added $89 + tax for windshield wipers, which I did not authorize!! This visit, I requested they add refrigerant into my A/C. The assistant mgr, checked my car in by recording the mileage and something he read off my tires. When I asked the woman who works there, "How long was the estimated time for the service?" - she looked at my service order form (that the assistant mgr had written) and read out loud - "You're here for A/C diagnosis and tire (rotation and) alignment." I immediately told her, only refrigerant in the A/C. This was the second time they had added unauthorized services onto my service order, which is consumer fraud! I asked the woman if I would be getting a Senior Discount as my customer profile states. She stated, "We don't do that anymore but I'll give you a $10.00 discount. We give all our customers a discount." The other two customers (two men) asked if they would get a discount and she replied,"Yes, we give all our customers a discount." When she rang me up, the assistant mgr stated in front of me - "Don't give her a discount." That's after the two men got a discount and she stated, everyone gets a discount. That's a clear act of discrimination against me - a senior citizen, female. They gave me the charge card receipt to sign and stated they could not give me an invoice. I replied, "I will not sign and authorize the payment without an invoice to review, first." They stated they could not give me an invoice because there was no paper in the machine. I reconfirmed, that I would not pay until I received an invoice. It took them less than one minute to put paper in their printer and print my receipt. The woman who works there is very good. Previously, over the last 10+ yrs that I have done business with this location, the auto mechanics and prior mgrs have been very good. The assistant mgr (in a white shirt) who works there now should be removed and sent back to be retrained. His actions clearly puts the company at risk for lawsuits and he should not remain in a management position. The mgr, who was wearing a blue shirt, had left this location shortly after I arrived this morning, to check on another store location. This location (Elizabeth Ave, Somerset, NJ 08873) should never be left under the management of the assistant mgr, in the white shirt. read more

Maybe replacing tire is the only thing they can do. Do not trust them with other repairs! We spent thousands (over $7k) going back and forth - quality of work is bad. Wheel alignment never get fixed they say its fine but the dealer show it failed but we had wheel alignment service included from buying tire here so we wanted them to fix it. our original brand log nuts were replaced by generic and one was missing. Their word is unreliable. We had engine mount & control arms were done and they say everything else is good like the car is new! but a few days later another major happens to the car out of no where (control arm/axel/ball bearing all fell we had to tow the car!) and they would say its a totally new problem! Scheduled appointment a week in advance. On the day of appointment received a phone call no one showed up to work yet need to change time by 1 hour. Was told I needed allighnment receive 25 off for getting 4 new tires. Then was told I needed tie rods inners and outer for 351 dollars. Then I declined allighnment and tie rods was charged for allighnment took 30 minute to refund allighnment. Took car to get a sticker and to another mechanic car is fine. Couldn't answer and ask me for the key again took the car back into the shop and they were looking for the filter location in the car for good 10 minutes and when they finally found it and replaced it I asked to show me the old one so he did and inside the box was the new washer rings that they felt there no new to replace ..... If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I had purchased 4 tires there a month ago. In addition, I obviously got an alignment. When I left, the alignment was off. A month later, one of the tires had a leak. I had the insurance for the tires and the alignment was under warranty for 3 months, so I went back. When I first got there, I was told it would take 1-1/2 hours. After 2 hours, the guy at the desk told me the tire was fixed and the mechanic was starting the alignment. An hour later, the alignment was supposedly finished. (Note: I have now been there 3-1/2 hours.) As I checked out, I asked what was wrong with the tire...no one knew so they went to get the mechanic who said that the tire was at 33 (which is where it should be) so he added more air. I said that he must've looked at the wrong tire, because the tire I SAID was low was at 26 and the light was on...and why would a mechanic AT A TIRE PLACE overinflate a tire??? So...they take my car back again to look at the correct tire. The guy comes to tell me there is nothing wrong with the tire bc there are no bubbles. I told him then he gave me a bad tire bc it should not be low. I said if the tire is leaking, I'll be back for a completely new tire and I won't be paying for it. He laughed and I told him I was absolutely serious. After I started driving, I looked at the psi of the tires. The mechanic overinflated ALL of them when 3 of them should not have even been touched. When I drove up, 3 tires were at 33 and one at 26. Now they were all off. Plus....as I was driving, I could tell the alignment was even worse than it was before I got there. After my review I was contacted by Anthony the district manager and assured this was an isolated incident, he wanted a chance to resolve the issue and would take care of it personally. He seemed sincere so I agreed and we scheduled and appointment to have my truck looked at. When I dropped off the truck I was greeted with the same mavis professionalism I was accustomed to. The "Head mechanic" said he would look at it when he had time but explained they had appointments and they were the priority so when he had time he would look at it. I reached out to Anthony and he assured me it was a priority and again he would handle personally. That was the last time I heard from anthony. I had to call to check the status of my truck and was told they looked at it and they see the passanger shaft isnt turning correctly but they have no idea what it is, furthermore they dont do that kind of work. I picked up the truck and brought it to Paramus Chrysler Jeep on route 4 (that was another experience see the review) then my next door neighbor who is a mechanic drove the truck and immediately diagnosed the problem. (The inner part of the shaft had become disconnected) he replaced the shaft and now I back on the road. 2.5 hours $309. 5/26/21 I received a reply from mavis corporate and called the number provided with ticket number. Spoke to an operator who transfered me to the districk manager for Union City. We spoke for a few minutes and realized I was sent to the wrong manager. I called back and again was routed to Anthony. I explained to the operator I had already dealt with him and still had the same issue. She told me I had to give him a chance to resolve the issue. 6/3/21 I called back to let them know I wanted was a refund for the alignment on both trucks (I had both trucks aligned at a shop that uses an alignment machine and they both were out of alignment). I was placed on hold for about 8 minutes and then was disconnected. I now see its not just the staff but the whole company that is broken and only motivated by profits. They stole my money, dont let them take yours. Try to find an honest mechanic. Good luck there's not many of them. Again I gave 1 star because I had no choice. This review is about the Ossining, NY location. I hesitated to use Mavis for my new tire purchase based on two poor previous experiences with the company. However, it was the only Continental tire dealer in my area and I figured it would be hard to screw up a tire install at a place with tire in its name. I made a reservation on line and brought my vehicle in on 1/29 at the appointed 9 am time and left it. At 11:30 am I get a call asking where the wheel lug lock fitting might be. I told the service rep that it would be in one of two places: in the plastic tool pouch with the spare or the glove box. He returned to the phone five minutes later and said it was in neither location. He said they could break the lock lugs off but then I would have to buy new ones. That sounded like a completely idiotic solution. I told he to wait and I would come down and look for it as I was sure it was in the vehicle. I was at work and couldn't leave immediately but took part of my lunch hour and went over to your facility. The fitting was exactly where I told them: in the tool pouch with the spare. They didn't finish with my vehicle until around 5:30 pm so I told them I would pick it up the following day. I went over the following afternoon to pick up the vehicle and when I was checking out I asked, "Where is my lug lock fitting?" I was told the service tech left it in a cup holder. I went to my vehicle and checked. Not in any of the front or rear cup holders. Not in the console. Not in the glove box. Not in the door compartments. Not back where it belongs, in the tool pouch with the spare. I went back in and asked the manager to check in the service area to see if it was still there. He checked and said no, but that Mavis would make good and replace it. I was shocked that they lost it considering it had been an item of contention already but told him that a replacement was fine but he better hope I don't get a flat before the replacement arrived. Five minutes after I arrived home, I received a call from Chris saying that they found the fitting and I could come get it. That made it the fourth time that I had to visit the facility for a simple tire install. So my recommendation go elsewhere for tires and service. Anywhere. read more

Do not bring your car here. This place is a train wreck. I had it took me two days to get my rear brakes changed. That should be a one hour job. It took Mavis nine hours to change my brakes. They ordered the wrong parts. They had a "" technician who didn't know how to change the brakes on a GM vehicle. They called me on the second day and said we're waiting on you. We need you to come down here we have all the parts. When I showed up, they said we don't have the parts it will take a few hours. My wife has an Acura MDX front brakes needed to be done. The Grinding sound was pathetic. When we brought it back to Mavis, they said there's nothing wrong. I said there is obviously something wrong. We brought it to the actor dealership, the technician said, how did he even put these brakes in? They're not even the proper mechanisms. He must've used a hammer. I went to Ballston Spa, NY Mavis for an inspection on my BMW I3. Tech says I need 2 new front rotors and pads. $380. The car only has 24k miles and is electric with regenerative braking, brakes should last minimum of 50k plus car has a built in low brake pad sensor. I declined the inspection and was charged $21 with a failed inspection. Went to Monroe and passed no problem. Tech said all rotors and pads look great, not even close to worn which makes sense since I hardly ever use the brakes with the regen system. I would recommend anyone to stay away from Parsippany Mavis. I had a plug one of my tires and took it to this store on 7/28 . The manager (Patrick) charged my $25 and another $20 to rotate the tires. The bill mentioned they balanced the tires which they did not. Today I had to take my car again since the low pressure sign came on. They checked and found a nail in another tire and charged me $ 43.92 for plugging a nail. When i asked why the price went up from $25 to $40, the manger (Kerry) mentioned that that's the price they charge for the job (F19) and the last time they gave me a discount. I see no reason why they would give me a discount on the first job and charge up on the second. If any, it would be the other way around. Also the invoice mentioned wheel balancing and i know for a fact it wasn't balanced since i was watching the work through the window. I have had great service from other Mavis locations. Not so here. I stopped in for my free tire rotation, since I bought four new tires here. Please see summary: Manager: You need four new struts. Yours are leaking fluid. See? Plus, the tires are cupping, because of the bad struts. Also, a 4-wheel alignment because of the struts being replaced. One wheel bearing is bad. You should replace both front bearings, just in case. Me: I don't see the stuts leaking, or the tires cupping. Manager: It's there Me: I have a service agreement which pays for new struts, etc. Let's call them. Manager: They said won't pay for it until the send out an inspector. You should call them, and demand that they approve it now. ( Visibly pissed.) Me: I called them, and they insist on an inspection before they approve it. Please rotate the tires. Manager: Why? It will only ruin the other tires. Me: I am entitled to a free rotation. Manager: I am telling you it's a waste of time without new struts. Me: Are you refusing my rotation? Manager: Silence Me: Give me my keys, please Meanwhile, I paid $15 for a rotation at Firestone, who found no issues with the struts. Then took it to Midas--no issues. Finally to Wilde Lexus in Sarasota. Struts are perfectly good. I called corporate, and got a regional trainer, who apologized. I asked for a credit for the $15 I paid. Called back three times. No one got back to me ever. What the Mavis sales manager doesn't know is that I sold Lexus vehicles for four years, and got to know my service department pretty well. This one star is a GIFT. I took my car in to have tires rotated with very clear instructions to hand-wrench the lug nuts since in the past Mavis has stripped the lugs. As I waited, I saw the mechanic install the last tire with his air wrench. I immediately asked for the person in charge who I found out was the same person I gave the instructions to: the store manager. He went out and told the mechanic some long-winded message. The mechanic then threw his tools around and was seemingly disgusted. He did remove each lug nut and did them by hand. Once I received my paperwork, I noticed that it said, "Sensitive Customer." I can only assume that since I made them do as I instructed, it made me "sensitive." The fact is that it makes me furious that they cannot handle a simple job. After reading the note, I decided to call corporate headquarters. My call was handled by a nice young lady who made up possible excuses, and she assured me that the district manager would be calling me back shortly. Their definition of shortly does not match mine because it's been over a week and I still have not received a call. Seeing other ratings for them indicates that this was not an unusual event. They gave me a price on tires and I said I'd contact the Hillsborough store myself and make the necessary arrangement. Called the store, spoke to Will, the store manager who, at first, would not honor the price I was given, but then he said "fine, come on down". Got to the store and he lied through his teeth saying "You didn't talk to me, I never said I would sell them for that"! Stay away! I wish I could given a 0 star. I visited your Mavis 4135 GA-78, Lilburn, GA 30047 (formally NTB) to have the valve cover gasket repaired and check the code for my catalytic converter being repaired. They replaced the gasket but did not replace my catalytic converter. On the 10 Sep, they finished replacing the gasket, but the car was misfiring. They told me to pick it up the next day because by then, they should find out what the problem was. On the 11 Sep, they said they found problem and it was the catalytic converter, and when I get that replaced, the car would run fine. As I was driving home, the check engine light was flashing. Not on. FLASHING. I had never saw that before. I was scared to run it over 40 mph. I took it to another shop at 8 AM 14 Sep (because they are not open on the weekend), and they did not find and correct the problem until late in the afternoon, 4 PM. They said the "timing advance solenoids (exhaust & intake) had been installed incorrectly from the previous work performed", which was done by Mavis. After they corrected it, the car ran on all six cylinders instead of three. They also mentioned that the spark plugs should have also been replaced because they looked terrible, and they wondered why Mavis didn't do it since they were already in the engine. I attached the pictures. I requested some type of refund from Mavis. They said no. They said what they did could not have impacted the performance of the car. How could my car run perfectly fine before I took it to the shop and come out running on three cylinders? The manager, Chris, suggested that the "Master Technician" could have put something back together incorrectly. After almost 24 hours, he could not find the problem and blamed it on the catalytic converter. And how could they let me leave the shop with my car running like that. Matt from Mavis said they had no reason to touch the solenoid or go to that part of the engine. Then why did Chris have to check and reassemble everything because his "technician may have put some back incorrectly". His exact words. They may have never found the mistake if I kept it there. They may have made it worst. I bypassed other NTBs and shops to have my car serviced there because of the poor service I have received at other NTBs and shops. NTB use to treat me very well and provided good service. I spent plenty of money at this shop and to be treated the way I did is the reason I will not go back there again. read more

The Newington, NH store should be avoided at all costs. The front desk staff is by far the most unprofessional I have dealt with in a long time. No personality, ignores you while you are standing in front of him waiting to drop off the car and just makes the whole process miserable. I went in for tire repair and balancing. It was worse after they claimed to have balanced the wheels than when I went in and no satisfaction when I brought it back the next day. They took expert care and were very nice throughout the whole process, especially when checking if my rim was damaged or still useable. Here is my complaint regarding recent service to Mavis Tire on 124 OLD POST RD (off RTE 9) Wappingers Falls NY: I purchased 4 tires at Mavis Tire, 1479 Route 9, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 on 11/13/2021. I purchased Extended warranty by thread for a total of $51.96 (4-tires). INVOICE # 00691135 On 10/5/2022 I had a flat. My husband brought the tire to Mavis on 124 Old Post Road Wappinger Falls, NY 12590. They charged me a prorated amount of $75.99 plus $$$ for a total of $ 128.43 to re-order a new tire as the flat was unserviceable. INVOICE # 00759773 I looked up Mavis warranty online- see below. So why was I being charged $75.99? - Mavis Discount Tire (Mavis) warranties to the original consumer/purchaser that if a tire becomes unserviceable, in private non-commercial passenger car use as a result of defect in workmanship and material during the tread life of the tire, it will be replaced with an equivalent new tire. Included in that toal I was charged $26.99 for a new extended warranty by thread for this one tire which is twice as much as what I originally paid. I originally paid $12.99 for each tire. Why was I charged $26.99 for one tire??? When this was asked of the person ringing up my receipt, I was not provided with an answer. When I first brought the damaged tire in, I was told they would order me a new one and call me the next day when the tire came in. Well I waited the next day until 4PM, no one called me. So I called in and I was told the truck came in already!!! No one called and I wasted the entire day waiting the call from Mavis Tire.
