One of my tires had a leaky valve and I didn't have time to go to my regular mechanic so I went here. They took care of the valve just fine. But the mechanic told me I needed brakes. I happened to hear him tell the customer before me that he also needed brakes, so I decided to ignore the recommendation. During the next six months (once right away, and the second at the 6 month mark) I had my car inspected at two very well reviewed mechanics. Both said my breaks were fine and not even 1/2 way down. It's really sad that the Mavis mechanic clearly lied about me needing brakes. I have to wonder how many people have been lied to at this location and spent money unnecessarily. All Mavis shops severely over tighten your lug nuts, to the point that some of the heads come off! They will scratch your car because the latino workers hated your having a nice car. Stay way. read more

I've been coming to Mavis for years, for the usual reasons - unusally good service. friendly people, good value. But last time the service was above and beyond. My keyfob battery died in their parking lot. John told me to hop in his truck, drove me to the hardware store, and waited till I got the battery. Thank you to all the people at Mavis! read more

I made a reservation yesterday at Mavis to have two new tires put on my car. the reservation time was chosen because the clerk on the phone told me that was when they had an opening. I arrived at the store at noon, and was told the work would take about 1 hour and 40 minute. I needed to wait at the shop since I have no other ride and so I sat down in the waiting room. After one hour and twenty minutes, my car had not even been moved into the shop; since I knew the job was more than a twenty minute job, even if my car went in that second, which there was no indication that was going to happen, it was going to quite awhile until the work was finished. I purposely made a reservation to be efficient with my time and clearly it was of no help. the workers are very nice but this was disrespectful of my time and their reservation commitment. unacceptable. read more

It was Sunday afternoon on Mother's Day. Volvo had given me their assistance to put on a donut so I drove into Mavis without an appointment. David was at the desk. He did not try to oversell me, but I chose to get four new tires because two were gone and two were on their way. They had the tires and the alignment done when they said they would, the price was exactly as I was quoted and every person I spoke to, starting with David, was polite, courteous and pleasant. In November of 2024 I brought my wife's Subaru in to Mavis Mount kisco New York to have all four tires replaced. I declined having the car aligned as it had been done a month earlier. My wife drove the car home and I drove the car the next day. Immediately the car began wandering to the right. I had to make constant corrections so that I could get the car to go straight down the road. I took the car home and checked the tire pressure. The rear two tires were set identically at factory specification, while the front tires were uneven with the left front tire having four pounds more air than the right. I corrected the tire pressure and the car now went straight down the road. Two weeks ago I brought my BMW into Mavis Mount Kisco and had all four tires replaced, again declining a wheel alignment. Before leaving their parking lot I checked the tire pressure, and found the rear two tires were set exactly the same at 36.5 pounds, but the front tires were again uneven with the right tire having four pounds more pressure than the left. As a former auto mechanic it is obvious to me that Mavis is intentionally setting the tire pressures of the front tires to be uneven so that it appears that you need a wheel alignment. I contacted Mavis's headquarters and reported this problem. I was told I would hear from a territory manager which never happened. As a consumer I would be very cautious of having any work whatsoever done at Mavis Mount Kisco, as they seem to have no integrity. read more

Had what I thought was a flat tire and needed assistance on what to do. I called and spoke to assistant manager Jeremy who quickly accommodated me, got my car in and was able to tell me I had a leak amongst other things. I was quickly quoted a good deal and offered options. My car was fixed up and ready to go by the end of my work shift which was excellent for me as I had to get my daughter from school. I picked up a screw in 2 tires going down the saw mill. I pulled up tire repair on Yelp and scooted in before tires were too flat. I was on the edge of needing tires and breaks anyway so.... They got me in and out in an hour at a reasonable price. All 4 tires and breaks 1,400.00. I've been driving on everything for 5 weeks now and everything is great. read more

Five stars for answering the phone a few minutes before actually opening, getting two relatively hard to find tires within a couple of hours, and taking my car in via tow with no notice and actually beginning work on it shortly after the promised time. However: -price actually charged was not exactly what was quoted on the phone (granted, 12 bucks more per tire on an expensive tire is a rounding error, but still) -getting the car on the lift took 25 minutes as their lifts apparently have issues with cars relatively low to the ground (in this instance a non-modified Alfa Romeo Giulia QV). Kudos for not scratching the rocker panels, but still... -front desk answers in typical Mavis fashion at times were not helpful (my question: "So any approximate guestimate as to when these tires from your warehouse will actually arrive?" staff: "All I know is they are on the way...could be 10 min, could be 2 hours"...btw, tires showed up 20 min after I asked. And when, after leaving the premises, calling to inquire if any of their staff had any insight as to why my infotainment system mysteriously was no longer functional as soon as the car came off the Mavis lift: "All we did is install two tires, we didn't touch anything" followed by a call back "the tall guy that drove your car off the lift says ALL the screen were working when he drove it off"--no they weren't, I got into the car within 5 seconds after "tall guy" got out and the center infotainment screen was blank -car was returned to me with TPM warning light still on...could you perhaps have driven it a few hundred yards to reset and to make sure that it actually would reset and pressures are reading correctly, at which point you would have also noticed that pressures were not set evenly side to side? -per my Alfa/Maserati dealer I ended up driving to immediately after the infotainment/nav system mishap, "Mavis must have done something/tried to reset something to make the system glitch." My Alfa/Maserati dealer ended up doing a hard system reset and all is well, thankfully Net, net: an attempt on their part to be accommodating and quite helpful was seriously marred by my spending nearly 2 1/2 hours there that then necessitated another 2 hour trip to the car dealer in order to rectify the glitch that clearly had something to do with whatever Mavis did. read more

Horrendous. Rude customer service. Made claims about my car needing things that it does not need. I literally just came from a mechanic who doesn't do State Inspections, but updated me on the condition of the car. Suddenly, the tires--on a car that has less than 35,000 miles on it--are so bad that it won't pass NYS. Or, to put it how the mechanic put it after I answered the phone by saying hello: "You need new tires." When I told them I couldn't afford it, they had me come in to pick up the car and all they said was, "That car needs new tires," and then the mechanic turned away from me before I could even start a conversation. Went in to get a flat fixed. I had to wait almost 4 hours. They fixed it, but tried to tell me I needed all new tires due to "severe alignment wear." This would have cost me five hundred dollars. Coincidentally I had a scheduled maintenance at the dealership a few days later. Guess what? The tires are fine. Can't recommend this Mavis. read more

Had some tires mounted and balanced about 3 months back here with zero issues. Bring them in today to get balanced, and gets call a few hours later by joe who works behind if the counter saying my wheels are missing hub adapters, and that they won't touch them. Joe and the rest of the crew must not know the difference between hub centric wheels and lug centric wheels. The wheels I have are lug centric, and I tried to explain to him how there's zero rings for the hubs. I highly suggest you don't even bother trying to bring any aftermarket tire/wheel setup to these guys. A waste of my day. read more

Danny at Mavis is awesome. Super helpful and very nice. Was able to help me locate a oddly sized trailer tire that was needed before I could take a long trip. Got it installed right away and even mounted the spare back under the trailer. I also brought my Cayenne there for an oil change and they were fair and got the car in and out quickly. I will continue to use Mavis in Mt. Kisco for all my tire and maintenance needs. read more

This place is the biggest piece of you-know-what. Only giving 2 stars purely for the fact that they were nice about their mistake and reimbursed me for the costs that resulted from their incompetence. Let's go back in time. This place fucked up twice before. Once I was getting my oil changed here and Mavis didn't have the proper filter for the make/model of whatever it is in cars with the oil that requires filters. I guess they felt they had to change the filter so what did they do? They took another filter and literally jammed and forced the improperly shaped filter into the crevice. Valvoline was like "WtF?!?!?" when I (and when I say I, I mean my Dad) went to get the oil changed there next. Whatever though, that's not a HUGE deal. Another time, let's say fall 2012, I was living in Delaware at the time and I came home for the weekend with a friend. I (and again I mean my Dad) took this opportunity to get my oil changed here, or maybe it was inspected, or some kind of service that requires that like, plastic undercarriage that's on the bottom of cars to be removed. I know, I didn't know that shit existed until it was ABRUPTLY brought to my attention after this visit to Mavis because tHEY DIDN'T FUCKING SCREW IT BACK ON ALL THE WAY. It was like late Sunday night when we were driving back to DE when the car felt weird and was making a weird noise. In Yonkers we pull TF over and it's fucking hanging down dragging on the ground producing sparks and shit as it grinds on the pavement. FMLLLLLL. We're two like early-20s broads that have no idea what ot do with this shit and we had to drive 3 hours back to DE. After trying multiple gas stations that couldn't help us, and thank GOD I was with a friend who's more rugged than I am, she fucking RIPS A PIECE OFF so we could drive the rest of the way. Really??? Oh no...Mavis is not finished being a perpetual pain in my ass yet. Prepare yourself for the kicker in the story. Because my Dad is outrageously frustratingly like "yeah I know they've fucked up in the past but they're so close to our house and it's too convenient" so he keeps coming here. unamused emoji. Fast forward to 2016 without a problem (miraculously). December 2016, Friday morning, I get in my car to go to a rotation that I HATE. So I'm driving down the road that my house is on and the car feels super weird. I pull over and one of my tires is essentially completely flat. I would say FML but I was actually pleased that I had an excuse to be late that day. I come home and my Dad is like FML because he has to deal with it, and it's like 7 am. He goes to Mavis to drop my car off. We pick it up like 45 min later and they say it was a nail and they patched that shit. Ok, fair. Fridays I go to the city for the weekend and this was actually NYE weekend. I parked in a "no parking monday-friday 8am-6pm" spot. Monday morning (observed holiday) I just wanted to check to make sure me parking there was still kosher. Upon arrival to my vehicle, that same fucking tire is FLAT again. You know, the same tire Mavis "fixed" on Friday. What the FUCK? I'm by myself now, I don't know what to do about this shit. I had to call a fucking car repair service thingy to get them to come and put a donut on so I could deal with this shit another time. Mavis reimburses me for the cost of this service, which was very much appreciated. Tuesday I go back to Westchester and much to my opposition, my Dad says he's going BACK to Mavis and he's going to go in with the tire people to see what they do and see what the fucking problem is. According to Mavis, it turns out there was a crack in the valve for the air to the tire. They seal this shit and promise "no more problems". LoLzZzZzZz Two days later, on a Thursday, I arrive to my car when I'm leaving the hospital for the day. I settle myself in the driver seat and turn the car on. I begin driving and that "TIRE PROBLEM, HELP!!!" light comes on the dash. Sometimes this just appears and it's fine so I ignore it. I knew my tire was "fixed" so I figured it was just like the winter and the temperature playing tricks so I begin my drive home. Car does feel a little weird, tho. Less noticeable as I'm going 80 on the sprain. I get to that light at pleasantville on the saw mill and the slow speed really emphasizes how weird my car feels. I decide to get off in pville and pull over to investigate. Guess what?!?!?!! SAME TIRE IS FLAT AGAIN. Good thing I just drove 80 on a flat for 30+ minutes. Luckily there's actually another Mavis right fucking there so I drive over there and drop this shit off. I tell them the whole story, an hour or so later they call and say the car is ready. There was a nail in it, they say. Do you really expect me to believe that the same tire, in less than a week, has ANOTHER nail in it? Should I buy a lottery ticket? They said there was NEVER a patch in there before, so Mavis lied the first time and charged us for doing nothing. Be warned. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Do not bring your car here. They tried to scam me into getting new brakes. Brought my car to my mechanic and the brakes are fine. Wheels were not properly aligned, had to bring it back and they claimed it was due to a bent rim. The rim is not bent, and if it was they bent it! Tires were not inflated properly, two were overinflated. A total sham of a business, horrible people looking to put one over on you every chance they get. read more

Upgrading my review based on my recent interaction with Mavis. Today, I drove my car to Mavis in the morning because I incurred a flat tire last night and was driving on a donut. The lady that served me this morning was helpful. Even without an appointment, she indicated that they can install a new tire within the hour. Luckily they have the tire that I needed in stock as well. After 45 minutes, I came back and the head mechanic called me over. He indicated that one of the lug nut holes in the hub is damaged, which i sorta knew already. Originally, i thought it was the lug nut itself and not the hole, but he indicated it was the hole that was damaged; most likely when i was trying to unscrew the lug nut when I was attempting to change the tire. He indicated that he didn't have the tools on site to fix it, but provided detailed instructions to provide to another repair shop. He also noticed 2 bubbles on my rear tire, so he recommended to replace that tire as well. Overall, the service was great, and they were efficient. I got in and out in less than 2 hours. Def a much different experience than the time i got my NYS Emissions Inspection. For a helpful tip, always try to secure the earliest appointment. They seem to get busy pretty quickly and fall behind if you aren't one of the 1st customers to be served. read more

I spoke with someone named Jovan over the phone to ask for a quote for 4 new tires. I was told it would be $390 plus tax. When I arrived for my appt. I was told the fee was over $500 plus tax. The counter staff kept telling me to come around to their side of the counter and look at the computer screen with the order. Why would that matter to me?! I was told one price and given another higher price at appt time. I asked for person to listen to my phone call as they are recorded. I was told the service would call back. The staff was quite nasty. I will never return and will encourage anyone I can to stay away from this rip off establishment. Giving 1 star only because I can't give zero. read more
