Took my car there to replace my car's front struts and tech Oscar Orellana did not do a good job, left my car making a knocking sound coming from the suspension. Took it somewhere else to have checked they told me the parts were cheap and when I reached out to him did not do anything but ghosted me. I had also requested a change on the four tire sensors, charged me almost $400 and less than a week after the tire pressure light came on. I told him the problem and didn't answer me. They overcharge and lie. I needed work done on my car brakes because of a metal-to-metal scraping noise. Unfortunatley, the mechanic I normally use had a death in the family and was unavailable - so I brought it to Mavis. The service manager told me I needed new brake pads, calipers, and rotors at a cost of over $800. I didn't trust this, especially the need for new calipers ( do they think none of us knows something about cars?) - so I took it to Meineke. As I suspected, I didn't need to replace the calipers. It cost me considerably less to get the brakes fixed. I won't ever trust them again. They lost a customer. read more

I ended up with a flat tire in Kingston about a week and a half ago and got towed to Mavis. I'm so lucky I ended up here and was helped by Vinny, the manager. He quickly ordered tires for my Tesla. As it was going to take at least a couple of days for them to arrive, he realized I was in a bind as it was 5:25pm on a Thursday afternoon and rental car companies were able to close at 5:30pm (I was staying with family an hour away in the mountains). Vinny went above and beyond the call of duty and offered me a ride to the local Enterprise down the road. As we pulled up, it was past their closing time, but he was able to convince the Enterprise staff locking up to give me a car. Without Vinny, I would have been stranded in Kingston. This encounter reminded me that there are good people in the world. If I could give 10 stars, I would! He turned what was quite a stressful situation into one that was very positive and I'm so grateful for him and his team. I also got the best price on the replacement tires, and I will make it a point to get serviced with Mavis Kingston whenever we are in the area. read more

Had an appointment at 11am to get my snow tires on arrived at 10:45, after an hour and a half of no movement I went to the counter to ask how much longer it would be while they rifled through paperwork and told me I would be next. After 3 hours someone came out to tell me I needed new front brakes. 3.5 hours later my car was finally done. No apology for the wait or discount. I'll be going back to the dealership. Worth the extra expense and short time. Why make an appointment if the wait will be over 3 hours while walk in customers get seen first? If the wait will be long, just be up front and honest and at least send someone over to say it's taking longer than usual as opposed to just having to sit in limbo and be told nothing. read more

Ordered 6 tires for my Sprinter RV A ($1,500 job) a week ago with Randy. i explained the tires I wanted and that it was a Mercedes RV.. Brought the car in at 10:00am which is 30 minutes away. If I could leave zero stars I would. My friend got a nail in her tire, at the edge of the tread, all it needed was a plug. Unmounted the wheel, replaced it with the spare, took the wheel/tire to Mavis who said, "It's in the sidewall, cannot be fixed, buy a new tire." Bull S#!T! We retrieved the wheel, took it to my house, and five minutes and a tire plug later, all is well. Good deeds done cheap. I feel sorry for anybody who has to depend on the blatant lies of Mavis Tire. Brought my car in for 2 new tires and an oil change. 20mins later they call me telling me I need brakes I declined. 15 mins later they call me saying my tire valves are seized. They then gave me the option to either get new over priced Tpms sensors or the plain rubber valves. I then was forced to buy new valves dude to the fact that they broke them and wanted some extra cash on commission. This place wants nothing but the money in your pocket. Obviously I can't prove that they did this but I'm a mechanic who deals with schrader valves every day and that will never happen ever. read more

This is what I just posted on STS tires up the road. Same / related review. I'm done with the bait and switch. First I want to state that I have never has work done at this STS location. I have been using Mavis for the last 15ish years on 4 different cars throughout the years. I was tired of getting the feeling of being ripped off and up selling. So I wanted to tre STS down the road eventhough it is still a Mavis company. I found that it was the same scam. I was once again baited and switched. This was the 3rd time in 2 years. Twice at Mavis and yesterday at STS. I called the day before seeing what was in stock and if I could bring my car in the next day. Talked to Brian who was very professional and helpful. Long story short. The tires I ordered were not in stock and they can give me a deal on some other ones. Guy at the counter talked down the tires I had ordered eventhough he said he has the same on his car. We did ended up on better tires but also $60 more. I wasnt happy, after turning over my keys... I canceled it. Its It's not the price, it is about trust and I do not trust the Mavis companies any more. This was the 3rd time this exact same thing happened in 2 years. Last time was just last month at the Mavis... I went along 2 times, Couldn't do it again. Really thought that the STS would be different. The phone conversation with Brian was so easy and pleasant. When I asked the counter guy about the call, he said oh that's our call center and had no idea what happened. Note I do want to say that I have not had a problem using Mavis online order and scheduling appointments. When you order online the tires you ordered are the ones you get. All 3 times were order on the phone. Seems like their inventory management system is not accurate. The call center does not have up to date information. Never again. I'm done with Mavis. Even though I waited for about 1.5 hours, I was happy that the service they provided was complete. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE! I brought in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler to get new tires. They didn't have the tire that I wanted so I settled for something else (mistake #1 on my part). I made an appointment over the phone to get the done on a Sunday, I believed I called on a Tuesday. I showed up Sunday and they said I didn't have an appointment and wasn't sure if it would get done that day. I left it anyways to get new tires and an alignment. I should've went somewhere else right then. I continued back outside and took photos of each of my wheels JUST IN CASE because I had problems with other cars and other company's in the past with them scratching or ruining the rims when I got new tires put on. 6 HOURS LATER I had to call them to find out if it was done yet. The guy mentioned that it's been done but didn't call or forgot. So I go and get it now, it's raining out now, I pay over $1200 for everything. I go outside and see that each rim has a scratch around the edges from their machine. Some were deep, some not. Either way it's completely unacceptable. So I go back in and the guy says he has a guy that'll fix it. Great! I thought I would maybe get some money back for my trouble but I never asked because I'm not that type of person to always ask for a refund when something bad happens. This all happened back in November. It's now almost February and they just "fixed" it. It's been months of me visiting them to see when they can fix everything and calling the manager Randy, who always seemed too stressed out to do anything. I can understand that if other people are having similar problems. He finally got me booked to drop off my vehicle on a Wednesday. I didn't get it back until Friday. That's 2 days of work I had to miss because I didn't have a vehicle. 2 days of pay I didn't get. Also, their workers put over 60 PSI in all 4 of my tires. Maximum recommended PSI on the tires I bought were 50 and the recommended psi for the jeep and the size tire was 37. So they put in almost double the amount of air that was supposed to be in it. They also did not give me an alignment. Or if they did, it was way more fucked up than it originally was. The jeep pulled to the right HARD and around turns all the wheels would shake. It almost felt like the lug nuts were loose. I checked everything. I figured out they never gave me an alignment or balanced the tires properly. I lost about 25% on my gas mileage as well during those few months. Now it drives a bit better, there's no shake, and it drives much straighter with better gas mileage. BUT some of the rims still have scratches from their machine. I refuse to go back there just to have them fix it AGAIN because I don't want to miss anymore time at work because I do not get paid time off. DO NOT GO TO MAVIS read more

I bought a set of Cooper tires from them, and my indicator light on the dashboard now stays on 24-7-365. Took the car back to them for the 3rd time about it, they said they tried to fix it, could not. Said i will need to put air in the tire constantly over the lifetime of the tire, the next 5 years?!!! I would never buy another tire from this company. I called around for pricing and made the mistake of calling Mavis in Peachtree City Ga., was given a drive out price $491.00 plus $100.00 off because the Braves hit two home runs the night before and a $50.00 rebate from Good Year for four tires, my total should've been $341.00 . On Saturday morning I get a call from the manger Shawn giving me three addition recondition. Two out of the three didn't need to be done. What he didn't know was on Friday my certify Toyota machinic did a full service of the car and found no problems. He said the the car needed to have a front end alignment and I let them do it, but now looking back the car did not pull to either side. I got home and reviewed my bill and saw four extra charges that I didn't approve. But it got worse when I picked my car up the bill was $729.14. I was told on the phone it would be $491.00 plus $100.00 off with a $50.00 rebate and I was also told that they would do it at the store. But when I asked Shawn he acted like he didn't know anything about it but then told me to go online. I went to there website and can not find anywhere on there to submit my rebate. There is a number on the bill if you are not 100% satisfied and I will be calling. I am very disappointed with the way they do business and I will tell everyone I know I'm in a business that comes into contacted with people every day. And I've lived in there area for 50 years. After driving an hour to this store where I bought my snow tires the previous year, I payed to have them mount and balance them. After waiting nearly two hours to have them change them and driving another hour back home I realized THEY NEVER CHANGED THE TIRES!!!!! He said he can have them in tomorrow, dropped my car off at around noon and it was done by 3. This Mavis is a lot better than any other one in the area. I live about 40 miles away from that location and I pass 3 other Mavis stores that are closer to me to get to that one. A few years ago I took my car to the Mavis in Poughkeepsie and they bent my rims and it became a big deal when they claimed that it was bent from before. Eventually, I got them to replace the rim. The bays are half filled from the night before. Bought winter tires in store to be installed and was told it would be two hours. Two hours later I go up and ask about time lines knowing my car hasn't left the parking lot. I'm told another hour. Hour and a half after the two hour wait I'm told it's one of the next ones. I came in on 8/16/2022 to get my brakes done. I came a little before 11. I advised Scott that I needed them to be done by 3 p.m. as I have a child I have to pick up from camp. If it was not possible to be done by 3, I would come back on Thursday when I didn't have a time constriction. I was told by Scott that he would make sure that my car was done by 3, no problem. He said he personally guaranteed that would happen. I said ok, left my keys and walked home. I got a call with a price and I confirmed to go ahead with the work. I heard nothing after that. I head over and get there at 3 p.m. My car is still up on a jack, I get told they are working on it and it would be another 20 mins. I explained to them that I do not have another 20 mins. I very much made it clear that 3 p.m. was the latest it could be picked up. I received NO phone call telling me they were behind or anything. Scott his from me in the back until I got loud enough to where he came out and told me to calm down and that "these things take longer than 10 mins" Where I responded I know, you have had my car for 4 hours and guaranteed that it would be done by 3 p.m. so I could pick my child up from camp on time. I called corporate who advised me this is a franchised location. I was given the franchise owner's contact info (His name is Paul Ryan btw) by another associate who understood my frustration and was witness to the guarantee I was given. I both texted and emailed Mr. Ryan. He never responded to me but I received a phone call the next morning from the manager of that location, telling me he was on vacation and when he got back on Tuesday he was gonna take care of this and he wanted to make this up to me and would call me. Guess what, he never did. I called and left him a message that Thursday, it was now the 22nd. Now it is September16th and I have never received a call or anything like I was promised. This place lies and is extremely unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will never go back and everyone I know in Kingston will know about this place and will not do business here Either. Stick to the locations that are corporate like STS or the Hyde park location. They are amazing! read more

Arrived to a scheduled appointment, was told our tires that were ordered had not been delivered and were also "a pain in the ass to put on". Told the tires would arrive the next day and rescheduled our appointment. Arrived for our appointment the next day to only be told the tires had still not arrived, no apologies whatsoever, no acknowledgement that they should've called us to alert us. After further investigation since we were upset, an employee told us it would be almost two weeks to receive the tires. We're not sure why this wasn't realized in the first place and properly communicated to us. They took no ownership of the situation; horrible business practice to not inform your customers when you cannot deliver on your promised service. read more
