The last straw with this place. I stopped coming here because they took 4 hours to do a tire rotation and an oil change. But I came here today to get a nail in my new tires fixed. Took them a half hour. They have 2 speeds, slow and stop. It cost $32 to get this fixed and 30 minutes. They called it a "special plug" that's why it cost so much. A RIP OFF is what it's called. To further insult me with price they only gave me 36 PSI. Now the other tires are all inflated to 43 PSI. air is FREE at least for the price inflate my tire to what the other 3 are! I came here because my other mechanic is closed on weekends. $32 later and a waste of time. Ridiculous! Stay away from here. read more

I had an excellent experience at Mavis. The entire team went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. They took the time to clearly explain what my car needed and why, without any pressure, ultimately leaving the decisions up to me, which I really appreciated. What stood out the most was the communication. They kept me in the loop every step of the way. I not only spoke with management, but the mechanics themselves came out to walk me through exactly what they were going to do. That level of transparency and professionalism is rare. Went in for a routine oil change and I got back a brand new feeling jeep. I've been to this location a few times for tires. My son needed a battery for his Hyundai. I was given a quote less installation. She brings out the battery & puts it on the table. I said, is this ours? She stated yes. I said, it's filthy, is it used? She said no. I said look at it, it's dirty not to mention it's corroded. Thank you for your time, but no thanks. Wish I had taken a pic of that used battery. But, you get the point. We picked up a battery at Walmart for a fraction of the price. Buyer, beware of the parts they put in your car. Good lesson learned for my son to witness - never accept a service if it's poor. The 'man' who took over for the 'woman' that was trying to help us, was the one who had to search for a battery for a Hyundai! And he comes up with that!? Unacceptable. One would think, that other than apologies on here, the said business owner should be proactive with the team at this location. Mavis isn't the only gig nearby. There's Firestone & Goodyear, literally within walking distance. Would I return? Maybe for air. read more

Do not use their app if you have a car with special requirements. It was more than happy to take my order for $2000 worth of tires for my Corvette. Got there and they didn't have a lift to get it in the air or a machine to remove and install new tires without cracking my $1800 A PIECE wheels. As a plus, the Manager understood my concerns and called a shop that could do the job. I purchased the tires from him as a thank you gesture. few weeks ago I realized I had a nail in my tire the night before having a big wedding to shoot- (im a photog) .. so I woke up extra early to get there & the customer service reps like Josh - were super pleasant, helpful & got me in and out of there with 4 new tires in record time!! they helped to save the day so I didn't have to spend $200 on ubers with all the running around i needed to do. FYI thankfully Josh noticed that my tires were pretty much balled & just fixing the tire would be dangerous ... I had been putting off buying new tires ... Initially my hubby was worried that they quality of the tires were not up to his standards and that I prob was going to over pay- however he researched & says they are a premium tire & moderately priced! PS oh and I signed up for the credit card & got 6 months no interest to pay them off & supposed to get a gift card to be used on anything I wamt! read more

great service, was not pressured to buy anything extra, got me in and out in a timely manner, very reasonable pricing. had to get one tire Replaced, I was in and out in an hour (and they were very busy), took maybe 30 min once my car was on the lift. Initially I came in for an oil change 11/19/2025, however to my surprise the staff here suggested I should do my rotors and brakes replacement. Which lasted 3 hours when I only expected a 15min- 1 hour wait. They also suggested changing my tires but I said I could another day. I made an appointment for 11/26/2025. A few days short of this I never expected that Saturday on my way to work around 10AM  11/22/2025 the breaks started making an awful sound. I never expected to have such a horrid sound since they were brand new. So I decided to continue to drive 2 more streets but the sound remains. When I got to the stop sign, my car shook and abruptly stopped. I gave it gas but it didn't move. I went to check if there was possibly something stuck like a branch or animal . As I stopped  the car I noticed a line forming behind me since I couldn't move the car. A pedestrian saw my situation, helped review my car. Robert, the sir I met informed me that the caliper of the right back tire was loose; it only had one bolt, when it usually has two. The left back side tire was fine. I took pictures of everything before and after visually showing the missing bolt, when i got help removing the tire. Luckily Robert placed his own used old bolt that he had in his truck , since  he happened to be a mechanic. I was extremely lucky that he was present right when I needed him. If not I would've had to contact a tow truck. I insisted I should still come back to Mavis to fix it and get my original bolt that came with my car. I return to Mavis 5 mins later immediately to explain the occurrence. Next the staff tightens the bolt and says you're ready to go. They took no accountability nor did they replace the bolt with an original one. The lack of professionalism is evident after this situation. I kept asking to replace it or at least give me the one I came with in my own car. They refused, as well as threatened to call the police since my car had a lingering smell from smoking. Yet I had to remind them that I came for a service not an inspection of my car. It was absolutely none of his business, but his actual business there was no attention to that. Finally they agreed for me to come on Monday 11/23/2025. I come on Monday and they're unprepared. They had no bolts, and declined my refund request. So I insisted once again, so that's when the sir with the glasses refused to give me their names. At this point they move the appt to Wednesday November 26,2025. I had to call out of work just to return once more. It's not fair to me to lose time from work and lose money on inefficient labor. Ultimately, I'm not returning. It was a bad experience, the workers are still here like nothing occurred, I had no refund. I feel completely taken advantage of. I will not return and don't recommend. read more

I never usually leave reviews but I have never had a worse experience at an auto shop than I have had here. They told me my car (4 tires) would take 1-1.5 hours, it's been almost four hours and every time i ask they say "oh almost!" They also literally fired someone for stealing another customers stuff and spilling something on their seats. Additionally, they have customers going in and out of the garage and talking with the mechanics, im genuinely watching them chit chat while my car is sitting there untouched. (this is after it sat untouched for the past 4 hours by the way). Overall very bad experience. I am not coming back and would not recommend anyone else come here. I am never going back to this Mavis in Coram; a place where I have been bringing my vehicle for over a year. I am going to rescind all of the recommendations I have made. I watched the manager accost one of his coworkers- berating him, cursing, threatening him and then he tried to fight him... while I was there. This man will not receive a dime more from me. Will advise those I recommended there of this. I do not support any business that treats their employees like this. In a managerial position, this is unacceptable. As a regular person? Still unacceptable. I was nervous for myself. Never have I encountered a situation such as this. This is the new manager; I do not know where the previous manager is. I went there for an oil change. The manager and assistant manager were super nice. They told me they only had one mechanic that day. While waiting, I had to overhear the manager on the phone with a higher up, who was literally reaming out the poor guy. Apparently the day before another mechanic quit. This poor man had to take an ass reaming in front of a waiting room full of customers. He also had to explain to his higher up why he was going to be working on cars that day (and not get screamed at later) because there was no one else to!!! The manager and assistant manager ended up doing my oil change, while having to stop and be interrupted to take the phone and speak to other customers. Although it took two hours, it was because of corporate issues, and not due to the individual managers, who were doing their darndest to try to help everybody. I am giving five stars because the two managers need to be recognized for their hard work and unbelievably stressful working conditions. The senior managers at Mavis need to relearn how to deal with their staff, and speak to them like humans. read more

My daughter bought four new tires at Mavis in Coram. Had to return twice for tire and balancing issues. Had shimmy/vibration in steering wheel. Finally went to MY REGULAR REPAIR SHOP and PAID $60 ( $15 per wheel) to get ALL FOUR PROPERLY BALANCED. All four tires were " balanced" by mavis but NOT EFFECTIVE. Now her car is FINE. Was definitely treated properly and respectfully at Mavis , but unfortunately they do not know what the fuck they're doing !!!! I'm driving since 1972 and always stay far away from any Mavis or any Jiffy Lube but the tire prices were a great price. Three years ago , I bought four new tires st Wal Mart for my wife's car , put them in a shopping cart and took them to MY REGULAR SHOP for mounting and balancing. Should have done it this time as well !!!!!!! I deliver auto parts part time ( I'm retired) and private shops tell me the LOVE when there is a Mavis nearby because customers come in and pay to FIX or UNDO what Mavis screwed up lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

TLDR: Check you invoices as they Add extra charges and don't apply discounts promoted on the website. Mavis is under the impression that they are the only tire center on earth. They must think this because why else would they risk losing a customer to gain an extra $22 in income. That's right, after scheduling my appointment online, complete with pricing, my wife went down to get her tires replaced. Should be an easy in and out deal. The center was a little disorganized with the service writer having issues with the computer and inability to find our reservation, but these are stressful times and people are sometimes forced to do unfamiliar tasks to keep the world turning right now. So that can all be overlooked. What's unforgivable is practicing Bait and Switch tactics that harken back to the used car salesman of old. We did our research on tires and chose Mavis as the retailer based on schedule and tire availability as well as price. At the end of booking the appointment the website provides an installed price that with all fees exclusive of taxes. There was even a small $3 per tire discount applied. We felt we were all locked in and good. As I was busy doing other work, I didn't accompany her to the shop, but when she comes home, I see the bill and it's higher than I anticipated. Looking into the details I see that the $3 per time discount promised on the website has not been applied. Then add to that, they have charged a 2.50 per tire "Mavis Tire Recycling Charge". Wait before you assume that this is the Mandatory NYS tire recycling fee. It's clear that it is not. When you look at the invoice, you can see that the $10 NYS fee is added on top of this Mavis charge after tax. The $10 charge for "Mavis Tire Recycling" is taxable and they detail this tax ion the invoice. So, I call today to address this with the shop. The person who answers the phone first states that this is the NYS tire recycling fee and when I point out that it isn't as that fee is listed separately, he admits it's an extra fee that the website doesn't tell you about. Before I can move onto my next point, he tells me to hold on, and he takes another call. How do I know he took another call? He didn't put me on hold but left my line open while he proceeded to talk for seven minutes to another customer who had dropped of their Mercedes for service and needed a brake line repair. He told the customer that he wouldn't have taken the job because of the complexity and difficulty in getting the parts but now that the car was there, they were trying to find or "fabricate" the parts. He then told the Mercedes owner to hold on claiming he was the only person "here" and the phones were ringing. at that point I expected that he would at least return to my call to make the same excuse to have to end the call. He didn't, the call somehow disconnected. Several attempts to call back only resulted in unanswered calls. So, in the end we will live without the $22 we have been overcharged. Mavis can take pride in having once more pulling their scam. But I shall never darken their doorways again. I wouldn't recommend anyone else does either. read more

My cars battery appeared to die however it just needed a jump I was advised to get a diagnostic check on my battery to be safe. Not only were the Mavis folks friendly and professional . They showed me what a new battery for my car costs but then told me my battery was fine and they didn't charge me. I am telling everyone I know what honest mechanics these folks are. This happen June 28th 2022, Mavis is terrible , for one the supervisor (Kasey) had over charged me on the work done on my car , the original price was 633 dollars . He "accidentally charged me 933" after we discussed the price 4 different times on the phone , and 3 different times in person" and he still made a mistake . 300 dollar difference is a hell of a mistake. How I have to wait 3 days for my money to come back in my account. Secondly the gentlemen test driving my car , came in the parking lot speeding and hit my car on the curb , knocking out my fog light fixture . Mavis Coram, NY 11727 Our son took my husbands truck to get brakes and rotors. They convinced him to sign up for their "Flexshopper" CC which is through American Express of all places. They charged him for work that was NEVER asked for. He was unaware of what he was signing since it's 16 pages long and he has a learning disability. Which I have proof of! If he realized what they were making him sign, he NEVER would have!! We bought new tires ourselves previously and only needed what was asked for. $2100 later he had no choice but to allow it on cc in order to get my husbands truck. We were away at a funeral and my son didn't want to tell us until we got back. My husband phoned Mavis in Coram,NY and the Manager Jose is saying my son agreed to it all. Mavis did not even return the "supposedly" bad parts. The Manager Jose basically told us to F'ing bad, to go F ourselves and that he doesn't care if we pay the account or not because 'HE' got paid, laughed and then hung up on us! Why would we request new tires and all when we previously bought them ourselves and only needed what was asked for. They saw my son as being gullible and took full advantage of this. We are filing fraud charges on Mavis Corporate as well as the Attorney General in our state for deceptive business practices and consumer Fraud as well as BBB. We called the corporate office and the lady I spoke with seemed shocked and appalled, took the report and said Mike would be calling us back. This was at 4:30pm. We called back at 6pm'ish, I explained to the gentleman on the phone why I was call, he looked up the account, put me on hold for approximately 10 minutes to come back on the line to inform me that Mike's in a "meeting" and would return our call before he left for the night. So far no call back! My husband phone the next day and was told Mike would not speak to him since it's not his truck. My husband explained it 'IS' his truck and we could prove so. THEN Mike decided to speak with my husband, said because my son signed and agreed we are responsible but he would speak with Jose. I highly doubt that and Jose most likely told a different story of how he spoke to us and the language he used. Mike said he would phone my husband back after he spoke to Jose and NEVER did! In the auto industry the law is very clear about charging customers for unauthorized work. It is considered deceptive business practices and consumer fraud. I even sited Jose the code of law and he didn't even know what it was! My brother works in the auto industry himself for over 40 years and FULLY informed us of what they did as being illegal and all the roads to go down to report them in full. He even worked at a Mavis himself and quit after 2 weeks because he did not agree to how they operate business and managers telling the employees to push this credit and then wipe it out. read more

I had a great experience at this Mavis shop. Two of my tires was low due to my hip replacement it was kind of difficult for me to put air in them. The manager seen my struggle and offered to check all my tires and put air in them. He informed me I need to change these tires soon. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING AT CORAM MAVIS SINCE FEBRUARY 15TH 2022 WITH THE ENGINE AND TRANNY ON THE FLOOOR. I don't even know where to start. I had my vehicle towed to Mavis because it shut off on my son and it wouldn't start back up. Upon the mechanic checking over the engine it was determined that the timing belt went and I would need a engine replacement. I agreed since it was a 2008 vehicle and I've had my fleet and my other personal vehicle serviced at this location numerous times so I trusted the advice of the mechanic. I wasn't in a rush and told him to find the best motor he could find. Not shortly after he found a motor I came into the location and gave OG a $2,000 cash deposit for the motor because he stated that junk yards will only take COD and on top of that I've purchased all of the engine overhaul parts as well. I had no hesitation because the name on the building says Mavis Tires not OG's repair shop. Sometime in May I called to check the status of my vehicle and was told that OG no longer works there and someone at there corporate office put me in contact with someone named Liz who proceeds to tell me Mavis doesn't do engine work but proceeds to tell me she has 2 OUTSIDE MECHANICS that she can have replace my motor in Mavis's coram shop and she gives me their contact information. She also started talking about some side deal crap with their EMPLOYEE like they have no oversight of their business as I would wonder how no one would ask about a car holding up a usable lift for 5 months and counting. I have numerous text messages from them showing listings of vehicles they would allegedly purchase from some auction to get a motor. I've spoken to Tom Sexton their Regional VP who is easy to Google via searching for upper management at Mavis and has a LinkedIn account. Tom had questions about how I found him but I hope he can check into this ongoing issue. My next steps are contacting Brian Sisson who is also very easy to search for on Google. Your regional manager Liz is a Liar and took this ordeal to another level by using one of her underlings at the Coram shop to tell me that I told her that I was having my vehicle moved to another shop. THAT DISCUSSION NEVER HAPPENED. THE LAST DISCUSSION WAS ABOUT HER INDEPENDENT MOTOR CONTRACTORS REPLACING MY ENGINE IN HER MAVIS SHOP IN CORAM. I HAVE TEXT MESSAGES AND CALL LOGS TO PROVE THAT. This matter needs to be resolved before I have my ATTORNEY resolve it for you. My business is me and your business is your employees and what you allow at your shops. Everything else is irrelevant to me. As of today July 21st my vehicle which is registered ( the inspection sticker expired sitting in their shop) and insured is still still sitting on a lift with the tranny and engine on the floor. I put out hundreds of dollars for parts and 2k on a motor and they're basically telling me good luck finding THEIR EMPLOYEE WHO COLLECTED MY DEPOSIT AND CAN NO LONGER BE REACHED. I work for a large global company who would never let shenanigans like this come to pass without heads rolling. Steer clear of this place at costs. I would rather drive on my rim then to ever do business at a Mavis again. read more

I contacted the Coram Mavis center and they ordered special tires for me. I was told that they would call me around 1 pm the next day to let me know to bring the car in if the tires were recieved. I never got a call so around 2 pm I called and was told the tires were in and to bring my car for tire mounting. when I arrived the manager I believe he was the manager who goes by OG. He was dealing with a female customer online before me. Very nasty and rude to her and actually sent her away. my turn, I identified myself and explain what I needed, he said you should have been here earlier and we aren't seeing you. I was like you were suppose to call me and you never did. he said too bad you should have been here an hour ago we aren't taking care of you. I asked if they were open tomorrow which was Sunday he said 9 a.m. I said see you tomorrow He said bye. smh. I immediately called the Mavis in Selden spoke to Anthony. OMG what difference. He took care of me by going to Coram Center and picking up my tires and bringing them to Selden. Who does that. What an awesome individual with a winning personality. He would bring joy to any company. While the Coram Mavis Center lost my business for life, the Selden Mavis Center is my new Automotive place. It's clean and allows for social distancing in this time of Covid. Coram is small and get this dirty. Don't go there. Go to 525 Middle Country Road and ask for Anthony. You will be glad you did.
