Called from Brewster (20 minutes away) to ask if they could quote me on 4 cheap tires for my old Honda. Total I got online was $274 all in. Also asked if it was busy and about how long it would take - I needed to wait and couldnt leave car. He said an hour and a half. Drove up and was there 25 minutes later with a reference # for the order and quote. Desk attendant (who I spoke with) didnt recall the conversation. Asked if I was leaving the car. I said no I would work on WIFI for a couple hours if it was longer than 90 minutes. He said it would probably be two hours. Rang me up adding alignment and bill came to $415! I said take the alignment off and he said, with those cheap tires you have to have an alignment done, but said hed take $30 off. I said fine, grudgingly. Went to sit down and get on computer. WIFI not working. Tried again and again much to my frustration. 20 minutes passed. Customer after customer came in to complain their vehicles had been in all morning or that they had appointments and their cars hadnt even been brought in yet. Between the arguments I was hearing, time passing with no hint of my car being brought in, perception of an upsell and not being able to even get work done while waiting, I decided to just cancel the order. Manager seemed relieved when I did. Hard to go to a place where there is so little accountability or straight answers. Some MAVIS stores run like clock work. This one sure seems like they take more work than their people can do, and they promise what they cant deliver then just hope your frustration doesnt cause you to cancel, leave or give a poor review. The manager was very polite, hence the two stars. You can find a better place to get tires or work done however. read more
