Value of tires was good, initial contact with Xavier was excellent. He worked with me on getting the best price. I made an appointment to replace all 4 tires. Everything went well until I got back in my car and saw the tire sensor light was still on. Sales guy talked to tech and I was told that I had 2 bad sensors - AFTER the work was completed! Needless to say, they lost that sale and I will replace sensors with a qualified mechanic. Maybe train your technicians to tell customers when they are other issues before completing the job! Wanted cheapest tire . Cheapest available was 84. After balancing, new valve, was 126. Whatever. Got there around 4:40, left in about an hour. This was a loose tire with like 3 people in front of me. When looking like closing up, the same guy who sold it to me asks can I help you? Apparently someone lost the paperwork. Whatever, things happen. Job took like 10 mintues. Because town fair tire has been my go to spot since coming to Connecticut six years ago I stopped there first. Matt helped me. He provide great info on all weather tires versus all terrain versus snow tires. He gave me a range of prices in my size of tires. They ran from $90 up to several hundred dollars. They say set up an appointment, I don't understand why because you still wait in a long line and you're treated as if you are unimportant. Even when I came back to pick my car up I was ignored and walked around as if I was another pile of tires. I rather order my tires online and go to a small shop who appreciate me visiting them. The parking lot is very small and people double park to the point that you have to dance with the steering wheel so much to maneuver out of a parking spot. Maybe try a different Town Fair Tire because this is not a good representation of what a business should be like. read more

Very friendly and professional staff here. I needed a tire replaced and went with a reliable recommendation from someone. I'm glad I did! The moment I walked in the door I was greeted by Christian, one of the counter reps. I told him why I was there. He took other pertinent information so they could put me in their database. He checked for the type of tire for my car. I was informed that they would have to order a tire since the original ones were discontinued and they didn't have that one in stock. Christian assured me that it would be at the store the next day by 930am. They just needed a $10 deposit so they could put the order in. I was given an invoice with the quote for the tire they put on order. The next day I gave them a call just before leaving work to let them know I would there by 11:30. The girl that answered the phone asked me to hold while she verified the order and delivery. About 8 minutes later she apologized for the long hold and told me that the tire had gotten delivered to the wrong store location. She said that they would have it delivered there by 1:30. I got there on the dot. I came over to the counter and let them know I was there to have the tire put on that they said was delivered to the wrong store. They confirmed that it wasn't there yet but would be there soon. Christian showed me the waiting area where I could make myself comfortable and they would let me know when the work was done. They have an area in front with beverages and snacks as well as several tv screens. There are comfy leather chairs and USB plugs for charging your phone. There was also a small end table with some newspapers for reading. On one of the tv screens you can see a side aerial view of the cars being worked on. On the next screen is the list of people waiting, the work to be done and estimated job time, time elapsed and completion time. I found out that it wasn't really accurate. I did happen to look up at the screen at one point and saw my car being pulled in. At one point I looked away from the screen for a bit. Next thing I know they called my name and said they completed the work. I was there for maybe an hour tops. Despite the fluke with the misdelivered tire, they recovered well and got the work done quickly without a long wait. They did a great job! read more

Let me start of by saying that I really needed to get new tires and planned my work day according to my scheduled appointment I had with town fair tire. I had to leave my job early to go to the appointment.. "Town Fair Tire" prides itself on (beating competitors prices when it comes to tires) after verified. I had an appointment yesterday with price match that I completed online. It is a legit store and price sale (Walmart). The clerk that helped me first tried to charge me full price (96) per tire. I clarified I had a price match with him and then he changed the tire price to 88 dollars. I proceeded to tell him that that price made absolutely no sense since it is clearly not beating the competition price of 74 sale at Walmart!! It also was not consistent with the email I received from town fair tire. He started to explain to me that the alignment was not added in the invoice; so the price was wrong that was emailed to me. However the email clearly states "FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT (if you wish, based on your vehicle manufacturer's recommendation of a four wheel (front & rear) alignment Town Fair Tire will do it for $59.00" I had him explain the pricing to me again because it absolutely made no sense and I was running short on time since I thought this would be a easy/fast transaction. He then proceeded to change the tire price to (76) because he noticed "he made a mistake". However it still did not beat the competition price that Walmart was offering. By this time I ran out of patience because I was rudely spoken to and really did not have an option on waiting 2 more weeks for me to have available time to get my tires changed. Let me just state that I have gotten new tires from (Town fair) previously and also did price match. At that time the price was beat on the tires. I had only one issue.. the service took 3 whole hours !!! I really think that there workers should be better trained on proper customer service and also on the company policies and what is offered and not offered. I could have gone to Walmart for all the hassle and paid 296 excluding tax and gone to my local Hyundai to get a wheel alignment etc. I would've still spent way less than the total price of 552.59!! One more thing. If you are getting new tires and do not have a spare isn't it common sense to leave a tire in the car?? All other places I've done business with have made sure that they saved a tire. Excellent customer service. They were able to replace my son's tire, without any prior notification, after his tire blew out while driving on Rt. 84 from NY to MA. I called them at 1:30pm and because they were the only place that his size tire in stock, they had him back on the road by 3:30pm and he made it in time to see the Buffalo Bills/Patriots game in MA. I visited this location for the first time on May 7th. I was there for a simple snow tire changeover, which town fair tire is known to do for FREE whenever you purchase a set of tires from them. I've been going to these guys for years but visited this location for the first time. My advice, DO NOT visit these guys. Go anywhere else, but do not bring these guys any type of business. I was told by the representative that I was going to be charged $50 for the changeover, which to that I argued that it's supposed to be a "free lifetime winter changeover" like they advertise on their website. To this, he stated that because my tires weren't on rims & they had to remove the current tires from the current sent of rims to use on those, I had to pay for this and they were no longer a free changeover. I've never heard this before at any of their locations, yet I didn't argue further & went onto their website to submit an inquiry for this. Via email, I spoke to Rich Allen the Director of Customer Service , who explained to me that this is FALSE. There is NO fee for a set of tires not set up on rims when doing the snow tire changeover, which they proclaim is free on their website. I'm still waiting to hear back from Rich about a reimbursement but despite that, this is all about the PRINCIPLE. I'm tired of these people treating their customers like dollar signs. I was never given a receipt so I have NO idea what they charged me for. An alignment wasn't done on my vehicle, as I had one done about a week prior, which I DECLINED to this representative when he offered it to me, so it wasn't that. I don't believe they balanced my tires. Finely put, what did I pay for? What bogus charge did this location hit me with and what work did they charge me for that they didn't perform on my vehicle? I bought tires last year. They told me it has warranty. So one of my tires got a bump on the side and I brought the car to see if the warranty covers that. The guy told me it doesn't cover it, so i asked if the rest have warranty. And the guy said it doesn't cover the mileage, and the tires are worn-out so no warranty neither. That i have to buy new tires. Problem here? Is that they didn't explain that to my BF when he went last year to buy it. They just just ask for the payment and give him the papers. My appointment was at 2:00 and they didn't see me until 3:00. Why can't you just tell me to come at 2:45 or 3: 00. I can understand a 15-minute wait but an hour to take my car in is unacceptable. Then when I came out to get my car they had left the windows down and the car unlocked. Though the gentleman were all kind there was no manager on a Saturday. What is the point of making appointment when you call them they tells you they had it in stock and then you show up the next appointment they said they don't have the tires in stock, and said say hey yeah we will order it for you see you in a couple days!!! On the second date of my appointment they tech said you know there will be a 3 hours wait time at least before they even start to put your tires into your vehicle. 3 separate trips to get tires change out and wait 5 hours. Stay away from these thieves. I was checking the air in my gf's tires, which were fine. One valve stem kept leaking though. I got it to almost stop. Enough that after 2 days it was down 2 lbs only. I had her take it to town fair Waterbury for a valve stem replacement. After they took the car in back, they told her it had a big hole in the side of the tire and needed to be replaced! I'm most impressed with Luis and the crew here in Waterbury. No BSR and just when I thought I had a great deal Luis found me a better one. Bought two front replacement tires about seven months ago at Waterbury Town Fair Tire, bubble appeared on front sidewall of one while the other continuously leaked air. Luis acted as if he had no patience for the customer, was condescending and refused to budge on helping with any type of customer care, or even a simple discount for a long term customer. I was old I had to pay full price to replace the tires, even though it has only been 6-7 months since purchase and one had a bubble on the side and the other has leaked air since installation. I have spent thousands, literally thousands of dollars over the years at Town Fair Tire and after this experience with Luis, I will never spend another penny there. If this is how they treat their long term customers, they are not going to have long term customers very long. Danny and the Service Manager Dan went above and beyond to help me with my car first thing in the morning! I left my car here in the morning and they were so kind to drive me to work down the road. This type of service was not expected or required of them at all. My purchase was a bit pricey for two tires (run flats) but I left rest assured that everything was done and done well. I've been buying tires from Town Fair Tire for the past 20 years and never dealt with more idiots! I don't know if it's because I'm a woman or a black woman. The attitude of the sales person Javier was very pleasant however the information was less than accurate and when called out on it he flat out lied to me stating that the tires that were put on my car were all season as opposed to summer tires which they indeed are summer tires! They claim to thrive on great customer service per John however speaking to Jeff who is the Store Manager, I now understand where the lack of integrity and professionalism stems from. I went there to put tires on my 2000 Buick Century. We get there and it took us 10 minutes of fighting with them to match the pep boys price. " nobody beets town fair", nobody does, you just have to fight them for it. I get home and noticed they scratched my rim, and stole my BRAND NEW valve stem covers I just bought. These are nice valve stem covers I just bought, and they stole them and gave me the crappy plastic ones. So I went back to try and get them and they said they threw them out. You would think they would ask you before throwing your own belongings away. So basically if you care about your car, and don't want your rims scratched, and valve stems stolen and thrown away don't go town fair. If you go there stand your ground on pricing, and check your tries/rims before leaving. read more

This review is based on my purchase of 3 sets of tires from this store in the past couple of months. Before that I've never done business with them and was apprehensive about all retail tire stores (being used to buying from Tirerack.com). Except for one glitch when the store didn't have the tires on hand for a scheduled appointment, they've done well for me. Pro's: 1. Pretty good selection of tires when you pre-order on their web site. They ship free from their warehouse to their stores. 2. Their all-in price is better than even Tirerack.com 3. All three of my new tire installations were done well (so far so good anyway). 4. The people working at the counter seem to be honest and straight talking guys. No sketchiness detected. Con's: 1. If you have to wait there for the 90 minutes to 2 hours, you either have to sit among the tires or walk the 1/2 mile to McDonalds. Suggestions: 1. Get the alignment that they recommend when you buy tires. It'll cost you less than elsewhere. 2. Research the tires you want online and pre-order them on their web site. You don't pay until you're in the store. Otherwise you'll have to listen to their in-store recommendations which seem shaky. Unknown: I have no experience with going back to them for fixes, rotations, warranty work, etc. Overall, I'd say give them a try if they sell the tire model that you want. read more

I always use yelp but it's my first time reviewing on the app. Was looking to get tires for my 2003 Honda odyssey because one was flat from running over a rock on the highway. So it start by the salesman saying that the flat tire was not fixable. So we look for option for two tires. The biggest need was for the tire to be inexpensive, so looking for cheaper tires because this car has 187,000 miles on it. The salesman asked how many miles on it and I replied "187,000 on it" maybe he didn't here me but it has 187,000 miles on it. So he tries to push tires that was on another vehicle and I said I'll pass. But kept on pushing me to buy the once used one. I felt like if I was at one of does used car lots being pressured to buy a car when you just went there to look. So when asked what are the option for lower priced tires he didn't want to give me the prices or I guess they didn't have tires at a lower cost. I thought that it had the most tires in New England. So when I politely said to him that it felt weird that I was going to leave he start yelling at me "what you want to pay". I all wanted was options. Then I thought you get a free alignment with two new tires. So he was pushing me to put the new tires in the front so there goes that fee alignment. The old tires that had less then 3000 miles on it in the front should go on the back so now I have to pay $49 for that back alignment. All this guy wanted to do was sale me stuff I didn't want and up charge what he thought he could slide by the customer.
