I scheduled a routine AC checkup with Same Day Heating, Cooling, Plumbing through Home Depot. Price was reasonable. Frank came out to inspect our system and showed up right on time. He was thorough, identified a number of issues with our system that we didn't know about, and took the time to walk us through everything and show us what he was finding. He didn't push extra services or anything like that. Instead, he outlined a range of things we could do, from basic maintenance to more substantial repairs. We were also considering replacing the system, so he talked us through that option as well. At the end, we got an informative email with pictures, recommendations, and estimates that we could use to follow up with them or another company. Shortly after Frank left, our AC started shutting off intermittently. I think something during the inspection may have dislodged some buildup in our brittle 10-year-old system. This was right in the middle of a heat wave so we *really* needed the AC working. We called the company, who put us back in touch with Frank. He then came back within the hour to figure out what was going on. He spent another 2 hours troubleshooting the system with me and stayed until everything was working again. Our AC unit wasn't working well so we got three quotes. George was able to come out same day to…read moregive a price and was the only one to suggest keeping the furnace as a backup to a new heat pump AC unit, as our old furnace was still working and didn't need to be removed. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.
