Maurizio is owned by Maurizio and his wife, a delightful couple who love to cook homemade, Italian meals to customers. My colleague took me here on our business trip and he couldn't have taken me to a better, down to earth place. It feels like coming to a friends house.
Everyday, they have a board at the front of items not on the list that has been cooking all day. Maurizio, raised in Milan, came to our table and explained the background of the items such as how they typically cooked or prepped in Italy. If you're interested in wine, he tells you the perfect pairings and lets you sample to ensure you're completely satisfied.
His wife, who he adorably calls "sweets" is as hospitable as ever, catering to the tables to make sure your dinner is as enjoyable as possible. The food was absolutely delicious. My colleagues and I had the cheese board and three plates that we shared amongst ourselves that were off of the board at the front. The noodles were just right, not over cooked or undercooked. The sauces were crave-worthy. He tried to let us sample dessert but we were too full to even think about it.
The love they have for their restaurant and each other is something truly admirable and I will always go back when I'm in town. read more
