However, I was thoroughly disappointed on my decision to enter these doors instead of those of the many other restaurants on this street. I had to trudge up a narrow set up stairs and find the tiniest bathroom ever on the second floor. I don't understand why they can't have a set of bathrooms on the first floor. The food arrived a good 45 minutes later. Really. I was already nodding off by the time the food arrived. I have never had such slow service. I don't think this attributes to the care that the chef took in making the food rather the lack of service or manpower. The carbonara was alright. Portion size was just right--didn't seem like much but its a pretty filling dish. It was fairly simple and I'm glad it tasted fine after waiting that long. Maybe this would be a good place to take on a date if you want to get to know their life story.

Only criticism (and reason for removing a star) is that there's no car park anymore as they've put up a giant outdoor marquee (presumably for covid). When I played hockey nearby, we used to descend on the pub but I don't suppose we would now because parking nearby isn't that great and the car park is gone. ‍

The pizzas were all amazing, we had a selection including Margarita, Siciliana, Parmigiana, Vesuvio and Pepperoni (a favourite with the kids) - they finished every last crumble. We also had Insalata verde (green salad), which was crisp, fresh and nicely dressed. The house red has bold Sicilian notes, exactly as it should do. Overall fantastic, welcoming and fast service, great atmosphere and food! Not sure the other customers appreciated 15 kids next to them on a Sat night, but hey, we tried to be on our best behaviour. (I don't like chain restaurants as the food tends to be bland and devoid of character, hence this choice.) The kids gave it five stars as well. Highly recommended!
