The scowl and impatience on her face and attitude when we were deciding what to order could not be more prominent. I ordered and decided to find the loo. I had to trudge up a narrow set up stairs and find the tiniest bathroom ever on the second floor. I don't understand why they can't have a set of bathrooms on the first floor. The food arrived a good 45 minutes later. Really. I was already nodding off by the time the food arrived. I have never had such slow service. I don't think this attributes to the care that the chef took in making the food rather the lack of service or manpower. The carbonara was alright. Portion size was just right--didn't seem like much but its a pretty filling dish. It was fairly simple and I'm glad it tasted fine after waiting that long. Maybe this would be a good place to take on a date if you want to get to know their life story.

Even though the restaurant was quite full, my food arrived under 10-12mins. For the appetiser, I had Bruschetta and the main meal was their oven baked chicken parmigana, which is chicken breast, coated in garlic sauce, topped with ham, melted mozzarella and served on Neapolitan spaghetti. The taste was superb, the chicken breast was succulent and the spaghetti with roasted red peppers was truly tasty. I had a cup of espresso (£1.40 single) after the massive meal as I had no place to fit dessert. The second best thing about this restaurant apart from the food is their child-friendly environment. If you have child/children who are very active and prevent you from eating, this restaurant has good ways of keeping your children busy i.e. puzzle,colouring and even family interactive games, it is truly a family affair. They also provide vegetarian option, sea food and other unusual menu you will expect to find in an American style restaurant. The bill was about £16 for a two-course meal, I have to admit that it is not the cheapest of places to go, but the servings are large and environment is just right for family outing.

Some of the food was tasty, like the fried calamari and the salad with bacon, grilled chicken, and mozzarella. They have a great refreshing, not overly-sweet lemonade, mint, I think. My companion enjoyed his penne with prosciutto. But I was a bit taken aback by the seafood risotto -- far, far too salty and with an unexpected kick. But we were starved, and there was plenty of lemonade and water.

This is a Newmarket favorite and is popular so you will have to book most nights to get a table. The dress code is smart casual to formal. There are great wines to choose from and the desserts are decadent. Other than the desserts, my favorites are the grilled goat's cheese for a starter and chicken gorganzolla for an entree. Service is hit or miss and parking can be a pain but nonetheless it is still a hit.
