Because Journeys deals in the very competitive shoe market, it's a valid question. Their "featured brands" are Converse, Timberland, Vans, Birkenstocks, Uggs, and Adidas. Okay, first, there's an entire Vans STORE in the same mall. Birks I can find in more abundance at the Active Republic. And the rest can be found at Famous Footwear, Foot Locker, and several other places in the mall. At the time I went (a week before Christmas), they didn't have any stellar sales as with others. Some good merchandise, but Journeys -- in my opinion -- falls under the category of jack of all trades, master of none.

They sold us a long, but talking to one of their people they said there is no way I long would have ever worked, they should have done an extra long. So here I am, i'm out of the money I spent for the suit, they called me a liar and said that they don't believe me. The suit doesn't fit, but they don't return or exchange it at all. I have some fabric basically. I was treated like a third class citizen, and to top it all off I have nothing. These people are crooks and shouldn't be in business the way they rip off latter day saints who comprise probably most of their business. Truly I want to keep talking bad about this place and the management and employees that are just simply rude, unprofessional and bad at what they do.

Today I tried to exchange (not return) a pair of unworn pants. I had removed the tags because I typically wear the same size, but having lost a few pounds, I tried these on and they were a bit roomy. I don't have a local Torrid so while traveling I brought them two weeks after buying hoping for a size down exchange. They refused despite me having exchanged multiple items in the past in similar circumstances. They have no real policy in place. I've returned and/or exchanged multiple items without tags over the years with no issues at all. If they had been consistent about this over the years I would be less bothered by it, but having had successful returns in the past, I'm frustrated with their lack of customer service. The pants were unworn and undamaged, just missing tags. I would have even paid a restocking fee for the tags. I have spent thousands of dollars a year at this store but now that I know my store loyalty isn't worth an exchange for a $45 pair of pants they will never see another dollar from me.

However, I still find Torrid overpriced for the quality of the clothing and find the clothes cut small in the bust, making most outfits not fit for me. But their Noir collection of pants are the best looking and most comfortable I have found, and I occasionally find a cute dress here too. Kind of hit or miss on the fit and always have to try it on - unlike a brand like Calvin Klein, Michael Korda, etc that is consistent in cut and fit.

Rude, demeaning treatment from staff at SLC airport location…read more I recently visited this Johnston & Murphy at the Salt Lake City airport to buy a dress shirt for a conference. I tried on five shirts and was fully intending to buy one because I needed it for my trip. From the start, the salesman was short with me. I politely asked if there was a dressing room and if I could try things on, and he agreed, but his responses were very clipped. After I tried on the shirts, I put them back on hangers and came out and asked him what I should do with them. He didn't answer me, so I put them back in the fitting room. When I went to try on another shirt (to take advantage of a 20% promotion after I had already picked one), he spoke to me in a scolding tone and said something along the lines of, "Would you please button up the shirts you left inside that you dirtied and messed up in there?" He then told me to hang them back up. I understand that trying on multiple shirts creates extra work, but the way he spoke to me was demeaning and made me feel like I had done something wrong just by trying things on. Being described as having "dirtied" and "messed up" the shirts felt especially disrespectful. I am a dark‑skinned customer and was wearing athletic clothes at the time. I left feeling that I was being judged based on how I look and that I wasn't welcome shopping here. During my visit, the same employee was extremely polite and cordial with another well‑dressed white customer, which made the contrast in treatment feel even worse. I felt very uncomfortable from the entire exchange, and it will probably stick with me in the future. Because of this experience, I don't plan to shop at this store again. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses how customers are spoken to and treated at this location. Based on what I've seen and experienced, I believe this behavior needs attention from whoever is responsible for supervising this store, so that other customers are treated with more respect in the future.

I grab a few pairs to try on and suddenly we're in this giant bougie dressing room with mirrors that see you from every angle of your soul. The super sweet associate asks my partner if he wants to come see how they look and he's like, Oh sure, but also starts laughing as he whispers to me "I feel like a sugar daddy right now." And I'm standing there in leggings that feel like they were sewn by angels, laughing and also nodding because yeah. Accurate. But also wow. These leggings? Life-changing. Like cancel my plans I'm just wearing these around the house all day kind of good. So now here I am, one pair in and already plotting my return. The cult rumors are true. Lululemon owns me now.
