Pretty great brick and mortar shop showcasing their selection of high quality bed and bath needs,…read moreeverything from towels and robes to sheets and throws. The goods themselves are quite nice, and while Brookline seems to focus most of their efforts on their online direct to consumer, it is nice to have shops like this to see before you buy and actually feel the materials.
The interior is inviting, clean, well organized, and showcases their goods well even though the space is not the most expansive, utilized in an efficient manner. The staff is friendly, and if you are waiting on something like their embroidery service (which I will comment on in a second), they even offer things like coffee and cookies. Pricing is also relatively fair for what you are getting.
In my opinion, their embroidery service is not worth it. Got it on a robe and while it was not too expensive, it was jsut way too limited. Firstly they only allow up to 3 letters, meaning only monograms, no names or anything, which does not make much sense to me as the machines they utilize are capable of much more with pretty much zero additional effort. They are also unwilling to budge on this, my best guess it is just a policy to ensure uniformity of products which I guess makes sense, I just wish it wasn't so. In addition, teh monogramming is only offered in two sizes, a small and a large, which is actually fine, however monograms typically have the middle letter (last name initial) slightly larger, they do it all the same. On top of this, it is not that they are done in some nice font, it is the most basic standard block lettering. One good thing is though that they offer plenty of thread color offerings for this service.
For convenience sake, if doing something last minute and you really do just want a simple monogram, it's a fine way to go. But if you want anything more, something fun, a font, a full name, nick name, personally, I would go to another shop and they would be able to do it. Now, one other thing, the timing for this, while it wasn't too bad, they did say it would only take 15 minutes to embroider, so I went next door and returned. For context, I was the only customer, I guess they were having toruble with teh machine but it ends up taking about 45 minutes for them to complete the embroidery of 3 letters.
Overall, I would say for the goods it is worth it and I would recommend. For the embroidery, it is questionable, if you just want a basic touch of personalization, sure as it is a fair price and convenient to get it done all at once, but if you want true customization I would take the good to an embroidery shop which there are plenty of around.
