Be careful of the Bait & Switch! We needed to purchase basic metal frame for a guest room. We called in Sunday evening 1/7/24 asking if they had some in stock and the price, the sales person told me they had them in stock and they were $99. I couldn't make it over there before they closed, so I went after work on Monday 1/8/24. I didn't inform the Sales rep (probably different rep) there I called in yesterday. He asks how he can help, and I ask for a basic metal frame. He shows them to me and I grab a frame and carry it to the counter. He types in all my information to ring up the sale but now the price is $130, despite the fact there is a bed frame display behind the counter saying $119 is the most expensive basic metal bed frame they have. When I pointed this out I was informed this is a "newer improved frame" than the old display. The rep then informed me that he could order the $99 older model from their warehouse, but I would have to come back Wednesday. Now I could have waited, it's a small sale and there's probably little to no commission, and I know it's only $30, but don't try and pad your sales numbers using my wallet. Mattress firm is Springfield or. Sold me a full size box an mattress last Aug. for 1500.00 the mattress is sagging. I took pics with measurement of sags. Which were one inch deep but when I layed on it the sagging area went down further. Got back an hip pain from it. Went in to store talked with salesperson. She said can't do anything about it cause the sags have to 1 1/2 inch deep. Told her when I got on bed it sags more. But would not warrantee it. I'm out 1500.00 for only having it for 8 months. I went to the gateway Sleep train store , by bestbuy with a warranty mattress concern, trying to get help with a failing bed I bought from them. The person who I thought was helping me because he was so focused on his tablet looking up my information I thought. Meanwhile i had to use the rest room turned around and seen the employee was playing a video game on his tablet. I was wondering what he was so focused on after all it was a warranty concern. He never even got up to show me a new mattress. He pointed to the one that he had in mind that was going to be on close out next month. Thinking he was helping me out I guess. In the search for a new mattress, we went into Sleep Country's Springfield location to take a look at their selection. They have a good variety of brands and a lot in stock, to deliver right away. Their prices seem competitive too. However, the guy helping us seemed more concerned with discrediting his competitor across the street, than with telling us about his beds. As soon as we asked about latex, he started telling us how memory foam is better than latex and how [Brand X] (the brand sold across the street) is a terrible brand. Indeed, our research shows that [Brand X] is not that well rated, but based on our criteria for picking latex over memory foam, latex seems much better. We used to own memory foam, and found it to be too hot, too soft/mushy after a while (not durable), and not springy enough. All the sources we've found seem to agree that, for -our- specific criteria, latex is better. Yet the salesman kept contradicting us, our research, his more honest competitor, and our personal experience. We had a distinct sense that we were being lied to. He mentioned that the latex mattresses they used to carried have been discontinued, but from our research, we found that the reason is that most were not pure latex, but a foam and latex blend, that nobody seems to like. And a Sealy one was discontinued as Sealy, but only to be continued under a different brand name instead. The pure latex are likely also more expensive than they care to carry. Basically, his claim that no good company wants to sell them anymore seemed less than honest. We also explained to him that we had a Tempurpedic, which became way too soft after about three years, making it uncomfortable to sleep in, with no support. He acted very surprised (even though we've read many similar complaints online), and suggested that perhaps we had been sold a fake Tempurpedic. The irony of that statement, though he did not know it, is that we bought the Tempurpedic from his store (!!!), years ago. In short, good selection and competitive prices, and we also liked that they can deliver right away. However, we felt a bit like we were dealing with a used car salesman, which was very off-putting. He was aggressive in discrediting competitors, his claims did not seem credible, they did not reflect our research or personal experience, and in his attempt to put blame for our bad Tempurpedic on the seller instead of the mattress, he inadvertently suggested that HIS OWN STORE sells knock-offs. read more

My daughter and I went here to look for a mattress fr her new apartment. They had two signs in the window, one for a queen set for $249 and one for the same thing for $399. We look around the store and couldn't find anything close to that price. We were there for about 15 minutes. There was only one salesperson in the store and he was with another customer. They just said the employee lied and that was too bad for me. I even spoke to a district manager who provided on help. Buying a mattress should be easy. We purchased a mattress set from Mattress Firm at the Eugene home and garden show and were given delivery dates of either the 9th or 16th of March. No delivery happened. On March 19th we contacted customer service and were told the set had been delivered. We said no it wasn't and were directed to call the salesperson. He gave us a new delivery date of the 22nd of March. Again no delivery and when we contacted Customer Service AGAIN we were told the set was undeliverable, a lie because we were home all day. Come to find out the delivery was to a city 90 plus miles from our home. No phone call was even made to us. My wife and I have never had a bed we really liked and decided it was past time to treat ourselves. We checked a few places and just didn't believe the hype, every salesman said something different and said they had the best deal. A friend told us to check out Sleep Country and ask for Mark. He really listened to us and said he'd showed us how to buy a bed we'd really like for a long time. He left us alone so we could lay on the beds as long as we wanted. Mark was the first salesman who didn't hover and get pushy. He actually made it fun, by the time we left he had us cracking up. We picked a Simmons that's firm for good back support, but has a pillowy top that makes it so comfortable. I sleep like a rock, I never knew a bed could feel so good. I told Mark what we could afford and he searched through the computer and found us a floor model that looks brand new - and got it down to our price range. Was not pleased at all with my experience with sleep train. They absolutely have no respect for you or your time. I went in to pay for a mattress and frame I had recently ordered that was going to be delivered within the next week. When I walked in the employee asked if he could help me, and I said I'm just here to pay for my order. He then makes me wait a whole hour while he helps a customer who was just casually looking around. Paying for it literally took 2 minutes. Halfway during that wait I contemplated canceling my order. I didn't, but I've since regretted it. On the day of delivery they tried giving me a mattress that was covered in soil. Are you kidding me?! I of course refused it. When we found a bed we liked, he walked us through the purchase process easily so it didn't take too long to get our paperwork done. We picked the medium firm Temper Flex bed and decided that it was too firm. Bob asked us to sleep on it for a few days to get used to it, but when we ultimately decided to switch it out for a softer mattress, he took care of it without any hassle. We decided to try SleepTrain after checking reviews online. We stopped in at their new store on Gateway and there we encountered Will Ulch, the manager. We told him our budget, which was quite small due to a large unexpected veterinarian bill the week before, but we still needed a mattress. He went out of his way to show us 3 or 4 different options in our price range, and stood patiently by while we laid on each option, more than once! After making our choice, he finished our transaction quickly, set up delivery ($20), and sent us on our way with smiles on our faces. I felt like we were treated the same as if we had spent $5000. Nice store and large selection in EVERY price range. Mattress was delivered the very next day, they set it up and were out the door in just a few min. And they were on time. We made the mistake of buying a bed online from another company and found out that it wasn't soft enough once it was delivered. Now we have to pay to return it and they don't carry a softer bed. We went to several stores nearby, so we could actually lay on the bed, but decided to buy from the Mattress Firm in Springfield because Bradley Bendele took the time to help us find just the right mattress and adjustable base. He helped us understand the warranty and why using a bed cover would help maintain the warranty condition of the bed. My husband and I had high hopes going to Sleep Train to purchase our new mattress. On August 13, 2016, we met a friendly, non-pushy salesman by the name of Austin and we tried out several mattresses before narrowing down our choice. We were excited to get the ball rolling and were willing to splurge for the first time on a nice frame and matching night stands. $2,168.98 and THREE months later, we have still only received the mattress and night stands. The bed frame, bunkie board are nowhere to be found and have not heard word on an expected delivery date. Originally we were made aware of a delay in the shipping of the bed frame and bunkie board and that it may be as late as early October but most likely would be delivered by the end of September. It is now November 13th and we have not heard word and the we are very disappointed in the service of Sleep Train. We took a risk, we splurged and we are now regretting having ever chosen Sleep Train due to this hassle. Please think twice before shopping at Sleep Train. Especially if you have any plans to have your purchases in your home in any quick time-frame, as we are proof that that will not happen. Our salesman, when contacted has apologized for the delay but no further attempt made to fix the situation. Sleep Train has not reached out to us to communicate about this delay, nor done anything to speed up the process in getting our items to us that we purchased over 3 months ago. Buyer beware. read more
