I've moved twice before and the moving companies I've used in the past were average at best. For my recent move at the beginning of this month, I decided to be more diligent and sent more service requests out and really took the time to pick the right company. Matrix stood out amongst the others initially for their fair pricing and the fact they didn't charge double drive time like so many other moving companies. I am happy to report that I chose Matrix Moving for my recent move and Vlad and his team exceeded all expectations and I am very happy with my experience. From the weeks leading up to the move date until the final papers were signed at the end of the job, Vlad was extremely helpful and responsive to all my questions and even took the time to do a walkthrough of my previous place to ensure there were no surprises on moving day (not something any other company I used in the past did). The crew of three that did the job was fast and efficient and didn't waste any time. Very considerate and aware they were on the customer's dime. Things that had me a little apprehensive leading up to the move (we had to contend with trash day and some home theater equipment) the team handle with ease and care. The 3 man team showed up on time and ready to go. The street was a tight space, but they managed to get the truck backed in and out of traffic. They got to work, and were very intentional with delicate items and furniture. They wrapped all of the necessary items and furniture in blankets to ensure they were safe and secure in the truck. When it came to unload at the delivery destination, they took the same amount of care to unpack all items safely. They patiently asked where each item should go, and placed the items in their place. They got everything done efficiently, and wasted no billable time. When it comes to the communication for scheduling and pricing they were very attentive and responsive. He and Max came in and got the job done quickly and efficiently without damaging any of my furniture (including my very heavy wood cabinet that is always a struggle to transport) and they were kind during the whole process. I requested quotes from dozens of movers and all were quick to respond. It was like being pelted with snowballs one after another after another. However, the one thing that stood out about Matrix is that there was no 3 hour minimum (we still went 4+ hours but I liked not having a minimum). Sam and Igor moved our stuff and hustled the whole time. They were very respectable and even helped set up my mom's bed. Be aware there is a thing called "double drive" which apparently all CA mock f companies charge although I didn't realize it at the time since it wasn't in any of the Yelp quotes I received. Get your quote and estimated time in writing for what you're planning to move. We were very specific about what we wanted moved and they moved far more than we asked. What we asked for should have taken 4-5 hours max. It took over 10, multiple times my husband had to start taking things out of the truck because 2 of the 3 guys were on their phones sitting in bed frames that needed to be assembled (part of their "service"), at the end of the excessive amount of time, we were told that we "were quoted a summer rate, which was lower than the current winter rate", we were not told this in our many conversations, nor is it normal anywhere (we've moved countless times) for summer to be LOWER than winter? Summer is always more expensive. We moved in November. Also - this is San Diego, there might be a 10° difference with very little variation in the market between "summer" and "winter". Super disappointing experience, definitely would not recommend unless you enjoy overspending and ridiculous amounts of extra time / paying for people to sit around and your husband to do the unpacking. read more

He arrived promptly with one associate, did a consult run through of all items, and strategically fit all of my items in one trip.
