I am excited to offer my high endorsement of Matrix Roofing company headed by Nelson Peña, General Manager. Prior to awarding Matrix and Nelson our contract I performed an extensive research and vetted numerous companies. Most of these prospective providers were generally knowledgeable and interested in securing the contract several provided detailed estimates for the work to be done. Although I questioned the need for some of what was being proposed I remained opened to their belief and expertise of what was needed to address my roof leak. . Based off this information I selected one company to complete the work. I did this somewhat reluctantly because I had some small doubts based on interactions. Essentially, I had some concerns that perhaps a better match existed but I had come to a point where the leak needed attention. Unfortunately the start date came but the contractor did not. After repeated commitments that were not fulfilled I restarted my contractor search. Working from a list of 8 new prospects I ultimately called Matrix Roofing. Within minutes of starting my chat with Nelson I knew I had found my guy. Following our call I told my wife "this is the guy". Looking back it struck me that what I was actually looking for was a person who I connected with, a connection based of openness, sincerity and knowledge. Nelson fulfilled every single commitment he made. It was a two day project that Nelson attacked with an intensity and care that only confirmed what I came to believe existed following our call I can't offer a strong enough endorsement of Nelson and Matrix Roofing. We recently discovered a horrible leak in our roof that had very quickly made its way into the house and soaked the carpet, wooden floors AND the grand babies' Christmas gifts. With a week of very rainy weather getting ready to arrive I searched for a roofer with good reviews. After reading the reviews for Matrix Construction, I called and spoke to the very friendly owner, Mr. Pena. Mr Pena was soooo helpful and made room in his schedule to come look and give me an estimate. He did a very thorough evaluation by actually climbing up on the roof and walking every inch of it, rather than using a drone. (I will say, one other company came out and looked at it before I found Matrix and they used a drone. Not only was their estimate very expensive but they missed multiple smaller leaks that Mr. Pena found and repaired.) Matrix Construction, then came to the house and repaired my roof in a very timely manner and for a very reasonable price. The work even continued as rain showers came and went, so that when the thunderstorms arrived, my home would be dry. I have full confidence that the work was done well, even before I was shown many, many pictures of before and after. It is so clear that Mr. Pena loves what he does and feels very passionately about roofs. He considers what he does an art form, and after seeing his work on my home, and photos of his previous work, and speaking to him about roofing I agree with him. I mean he took the time to find green shingles (although he certainly did not have to do that at all) and look at those lines. :D I will definitely being calling Matrix Construction for all my future roofing needs. LIKE and TRUST Allow me to repeat; Like and Trust. It's a high bar for those that earn those accolades from me. I don't really do written reviews, however I really like and trust Nelson Peña, Matrix Construction Company. I interviewed and obtained bids from several general contractors and roof specialist. Nelson impressed me from the start. In addition to a competitive price, we vetted each bidder. It was in that process Nelson provided a work history, though not professionally done for the internet, it revealed what he had done and who he had worked for. In his early years he had subcontracted for two of the general contractors I had also received bids from. It also told the story of his business. From that I could tell he didn't work for a living but was living and and proud of his work because he cared. He cared that we were Happy with what he did for us and that fueled his dedication to his trade. We trust that his work solution will serve us for years to come. I once said to Nelson that that after the roof was done that I would hope that I never have to call a roofer again. Since then we have contracted to do an emergency plumbing repair including removal, replacement of insulation and ceiling. My son's closet ceiling fell in - ugh, what a mess! Nelson to the rescue. After an estimate from the "other guy" who stood in the backyard and sent his drone up, Nelson came over, within a few hours of when I called him, and got up on the roof himself (right after a rain storm!). He showed us pictures of the roof and what he thought was causing the problem: the damage wasn't obvious. So nice to have that small business touch - to talk to the owner, the one who would be doing the work. Best new yet, his estimate was half Mr. Other Guy's! Needless to say, we booked him. Nelson did a great job, always in touch with kind communication. After he finished, he didn't bill us right away; instead he waited until a heavy rain and then had me check to make sure the leak in the closet was truly fixed. Nelson's a sweetheart and a pro. I had a stopped up kitchen sink and nothing I tried would clear it up. I put in a trouble call to my home warranty, but they would not do the work. Mr Nelson Peña's name was given to me by my son who suggested I call him, I did and Mr Peña was at my home the following day. Mr Peña worked on the blocked sink with a drain auger (snake) tirelessly, but it didn't work, he left and returned with a motorized drain auger and to my amazement, the blockage was cleared! Not only did he get that done, but he noticed my front door was slanted and not closing like it was supposed to, and said "I have the tools and only takes a couple of minutes, so why not!" And, he fixed the door! I told him he was sent by God! I highly recommend Mr Nelson Peña! Although he is a master roofer by profession, I think he can do almost any type of job in your home. read more

Matrix Construction has completed two roof repair jobs for me, the first in 2021 and the second in March 2026. Both repairs were excellent. Mr. Nelson is very professional, arrived when he said he would be there, completed the work in a timely manner and cleaned up when he was finished. He provided a fair price estimate and explained everything that needed to be done in detail. The most recent repair was to replace a section of roof that had been leaking for years unnoticed. Nelson reinforced all water damaged support structures and replaced the damaged roof components with materials that were better than the original.
