Ahh, what is better than bathing yourself in luxury? How about caressing yourself in luxury while you sleep? Fall River, MA is not anywhere near our home. In fact, Google said it was a 3 hour & 15 minute drive from our house to the Matouk Factory Store... without a pit stop. Well, my wife just crawled into bed and already said it was well worth it. You see, Matouk makes fine linens for the home. The story is that John Matouk began importing the finest European linens and laces in 1929 for sale to American consumers. Now in the family's 3rd generation they continue his legacy with timeless articles of bed, bath and table linen. As our flannel sheets came off the bed this Spring, it was apparent that our previous warm weather bedding was biting the dust. We have never previously owned any Matouk products, but my wife was familiar with the luxurious feel of their products from browsing in higher end stores. So when she discovered that they had a factory store in Fall River, she was ready to hit the road and explore. I quickly looked to see if there were any decent gastropubs nearby and was disappointed in my ability to uncover any. But I was amazed to see so many Portuguese restaurants around the area. But that's a story for another time. There is plenty of product to choose from at the Matouk store. In addition to purchasing two different sets of queen size sheets, we also splurged on some bath towels and wash cloths. How much did all this cost? Well, like the salesman in the Rolls Royce showroom says, if you have to ask, you can't afford it. Just kidding! You can check the internet first to see if any of what they sell appeals to you and how much other retailers are asking for the merchandise. At the factory store you can expect to save 20% to 36% depending upon product and style. At least that was our experience on the flat/fitted sheets and pillow cases. While they sell the fitted sheets separately, a pair of pillow cases are included with each flat sheet purchased. Other retailers have individual pricing for both the flat sheets and a pair of pillow cases. Our towel savings were in the 37% to 42% range, but you still need to shop wisely since sales at other retailers may match these markdowns. The savings I've referenced above are for first quality products. There are some irregulars and discontinued items also available and clearly marked in the Factory store so your experience may vary. Staff are friendly, informative and very helpful. The facility is exceptionally clean and the restrooms are immaculate. Check out the HUGE Phillips windmill at the nearby Lightolier factory which will sadly be shutting down production and soon be moving to Mexico. read more

We stumbled upon Matouk Factory Outlet one day many years ago and went in to check it out. We had seen the Matouk name on some matelasse pillow shams that were on an antique bed at Leonard's Antiques in Seekonk but were not very familiar with the linen company. The signs in the store said the linens were seconds and not perfect. The linens were still pretty pricey even though there were faulty embroidery patterns, ink stains on some of the linens, hard-to-find pillowcases that matched, and very few standard sized pillowcases unless you buy the pre-packaged set that you might not like as much. The matelasse shams were enormous and while beautiful, not useful. Who uses pillows the size of Versailles? You have to spend a lot of time in very cramped quarters trying to put together a full set of linens. I bought a couple of sheet sets and some bath and hand towels and the bill was over $500. That was many, many years ago. The linens are beautiful and very comfortable to sleep on but the fitted sheets wear out very quickly. My fitted sheet was in tatters within a year. And, bleach cannot be used on these linens to keep them white so it is time consuming soaking them in borax before washing them. If you buy the pre-packaged set, you are very quickly left with no fitted sheet for that set because they wear out so fast. You will have to buy another $100 fitted sheet in a very short amount of time. Just before Covid-19 hit, we stopped by the newly renovated store to see what was available. The prices for everything had skyrocketed and it was no longer a splurgy bargain for good linens.......it was a rip-off for overpriced linens that were seconds. When you pull up to a supposed factory outlet and see Range Rovers lining the parking lot, it isn't a good thing. Martha Stewart, a billionaire, admitted she shops at Salvation Army where the inventory is comprised of charitable donations to help out poor people. She should be ashamed of herself just as Matouk should be ashamed of itself for trying to pass themselves off as a store full of bargains. It is just dishonest and people who don't know better will spend more money than they have to for good linen. The Matouk store is not a factory outlet anymore and the Matouk company should not be able to advertise it as a factory outlet. There are so many great linen companies online now that sell superior quality linens for a much fairer price. Do your research before you buy anything from the Matouk "Factory Outlet." Better and cheaper linens are just a computer click away. read more

I've been shopping at Matouk for years. My parents lived in Fall River, and I would stop at Matouk's 1-2 times per year. . Most often the prices seemed too high for my budget. On one of my visits, there was a laundry bin filled with mark-downs. Prices so slow, I had to buy something. I bought a set of twin sheets and a two bath towels. Within a few months of using the sheets and towels, I knew I'd be shopping at Matouk's more often for sheets and towels items for myself as well as for gifts. My parents were aging, and spending more hours in bed. What do you buy parents in their 80s for Mother's Day or a birthday? Ah! Matouk bedding. My parents died a few years ago. I have and use their Matouk sheets. I will list the Matouk linens in my Last Will and Testament. With each passing year, the sheets get better and better. read more

We called to inquire about 2 items and the lady hung up on us. The only reason we called is this place is out in the boondocks of MA. hundreds of miles away! Not what you'd expect from a supposed luxury linen store. I don't care if it's an outlet store or not the bottom line is we were looking for a specific product and they offered no assistance. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of blanket, sheets, and towels from the outlet store and loved them, however one of my fitted sheets was weirdly worn and frayed in the middle after the last wash (I've had them for one year and have several other sheets that did not have this issue). After many back and forth conversations with the manager, including digging out receipts, forwarding images of the sheet, and finally mailing the sheet so she could see it in person (an additional $18.00), the manager said she could do nothing. She had no explanation why the sheet wore out and clearly she had no intention of replacing the one sheet for me. I have had sheets from Home Goods last longer than this one. I cannot imagine a manager not offering to replace a sheet of such high caliber (and a price to match). I have gone to the outlet store twice a year with a group of women and we spend thousands of dollars each time we go, but Matouk won't replace my defective sheet! We will not be back... read more

Finally made it to the Matouk factory store today and I was so pleased. So much so that I am very perplexed by all of the negative reviews on this page! The space is gorgeous, service is attentive, and there are many good deals to be had. If the inventory is always this good, I'm definitely going to come back later this year to do some Christmas shopping. Having heard about Matouk from the Dean Hotel in Providence (which uses their sheets and towels), I'd been determined for a while to make the trek to Fall River. Immediately upon walking inside I knew it would be tough to limit my purchases to what I needed, rather than just wanted! There are seriously so many nice things here that it was hard not to go crazy. Luckily there are baskets and carts to gather potential purchases as you move throughout the store, so that you can evaluate later. The store is fairly sizable, very inviting, and nicely lit. Several beautifully made-up beds in the space showcase the sheets, pillows, duvets, and throws, and there are manikins modeling the bath robes and a display wall of the shower curtains. They have a wide variety of sheets running the gamut from silky sateen to crisp, cool percale. All of the shelves around the perimeter of the store are very organized, making it easy to find sizes. It is so helpful to actually feel all of the fabrics in person rather than only look at them online. For instance, there are several different collections of towels on display, and all of their textures are subtly different, so it was great to see those up close. The sales associates were even happy to pull things out from the back for us, if they'd run out on the shelves. After circling the store several times, I settled on a white bath sheet (yay for larger towels!), some washcloths, a gorgeously woven shower curtain that originally retails for $135, and a linen-scented bar of soap - all for just $65. My friend got a $300 throw for only $60. I'm not really sure what people are expecting with the prices when they come here - Matouk makes really high quality products, and they aren't going to just give them away! This is where you come if you're looking for investments. Some things are discounted more than others (it seemed to run in the 15% off to 50% off range), but overall I was quite happy with the prices here and thought I got some pretty amazing deals. Had I had a bit more to spend, I definitely would have sprung for more brightly colored towels, a beach towel, and maybe some of the sheets with the colorful scalloped edges. I can't imagine how fun it would be to decorate a whole vacation home on Cape Cod with this stuff! Bonus: when you walk inside, a window to your right goes right through into the factory itself, so you can get a glimpse of them creating the textiles. It's really neat. read more

I've had numerous conversations by email with Mr. George Matouk. Two members of his staff said that they would accept a return of my down pillows. They were advertised as 100% down which is false, as they are 85% down. After spending about two weeks with Mr. Matouk as well as customer service they went back on their promise to return the pillows to them and pushed me off to returning them to Bloomingdales which is now closed! Horrible customer service, employees where the right hand does not know what the left hand says or does. To have this organization go back on their written words tells you about the organization. I have been there a couple of times and have found the staff very unhelpful bordering on rude. There was a poorly dressed younger couple there the last time I went, buying a set of sheets. Allow me to slip into something a little more comfortable: namely, my new sheets from the Matouk Factory Store. This brand is synonymous with luxury bedding and bath linens. It's also synonymous with hefty price tags, making it unattainable for most of us to furnish our homes with oodles of Matouk. So this little store, located deep within the industrial park in Fall River's north end, offers a chance to get your fix without going bankrupt. I have conflicted opinions about the Matouk Factory Store. On the one hand, I'm crazy about the place. You can't argue with the quality of the product. Sliding under those Egyptian cotton sheets, or nestled snugly in one of their huge bath towels, you can't help but get swept away in an "I'm a rich lady" fantasy. Maybe my astrological sign has something to do with it, but I'm a full-fledged nester. My home is my castle and my sanctuary from the outside world; so for me, this is what's meant by life's "finer things." If your idea of heaven involves Sunday morning and a fluffy bathrobe, you'd probably love it here, too. I also LOVE shopping local or domestic whenever I can, and Matouk's main headquarters are in Fall River (there's also a showroom in NYC). In fact, the Factory Store is nothing more than an adjoining room beside the cubicle farm that is the home of Matouk Corporate. The store itself is very small, but there's enough to keep you occupied for about 30 minutes, including hostess gift items (soaps, linen sprays, etc) that are sure to impress. Now, all that said, I've got some beefs with the Factory Store. To begin, their hours are ridiculous for a retail outlet. Granted, the store is secondary to the corporate office - and the hours of operation take its cue from that side. But it's nearly impossible for a working gal to find time to shop there, as they're only open from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of July and August; they are open weekends during those two months, and again in February, when they have their huge annual towel sale. If I had a dollar for every time I've gone to the Matouk Factory Store expecting it to be open, only to be greeted with a locked door--I'd be able to afford one of their bedroom sets at full price. Due to its small size, the inventory is not vast; and some of it is there either because it's "irregular" in some way (if you can't figure out why, the sales staff can tell you), or was part of a special order that was never delivered. This place is a graveyard for random monogrammed items. I've never been able to benefit from this; but if you're at Matouk Factory Store, "CWZ," you might just hit jackpot. It's also difficult to find a complete set of any specific color or pattern. But if you're only looking for a flat sheet, or a pretty coverlet, or even a gorgeous beach blanket, you'll find that one great item. Be forewarned, prices are far from rock bottom, and all sales are final. It's not a bargain basement, but it's a far cry from the prices that Matouk commands in schmancy stores like Barney's, Saks and Neiman Marcus. On my last visit, I snagged an utterly beautiful, champagne-colored duvet that retailed for $750, for a mere $75. If you need me, I'll be undercover, living out my caviar dreams beneath a pillowy cloud of Matouk. read more

Completely disappointed by the pricing! I'm a loyal Matouk customer, as all my sheets and towels in the last decade are Matouk. Love the quality and the "made in America" label. I was so excited to see a sign for the Factory Store when my family and I were in the area for a wedding. I made a list of all the replacement sheets and towels we needed, and was exhilarated by the thought of stocking up with my favorite brand at discount prices. But stock is only 20% off! Irregular items are lower priced, but on the day I visited there weren't many irregulars to choose from. I just don't understand how the standard discount at a factory outlet can be 20%, when I can get a better discount from buying off of sites like Horchow. I can't believe I walked out empty-handed. It's probably irrational how disappointed I was, but I felt like I had wasted by time and my family's. And I felt a little insulted. I'm surprised by the negative reviews! I love the Matouk outlet. Also, it is open on the weekends contrary to another review. In fact, I went on the Saturday before MLK day with my mom. I'd been before and needed to replace some hand towels and a shower curtain. Mom and I drove, arrived About half an hour after it opened and spent about 30 mins browsing. There were less than 10 people in the shop while we were there. We each bought some things we're really happy with. The selection is limited, but it's nice to not have to go through millions of options. Yes, even at outlet, this stuff is still pricey but it's totally worth it. I have had the horizon shower curtain ($105) in the past and love it, but opted for the diamond mattelasse this time around ($80) and I'm enjoying the change of pace. I was eyeing the robe ($180) but decided to hold off this time around. I've had the Milagro towels for probably 5 years and they're still in excellent shape. I added a few hand towels ($10/per) and washcloths ($7/per). Great color selection-white, navy, beige, coral, light blue, etc. they also had several of their lines of towels, including my favorite the fluffy Milagro. I was itching for some new bedding but recently updated my duvet so I skipped that. My mom got a lulu dk duvet, full, and it was about $150, some were pricier, but we liked hers. She also got a boudoir sham for $44. They have great sheet sets, bed skirts, beach towels, candles, coasters, Kleenex covers, bath matts, monogrammed towels, all sorts of things! It can be hit or miss, but it's an outlet, I expect that. All in all a fun, successful little shopping trip. About 50 mins from Boston with no traffic. read more

There is no denying that Matouk is a great luxury linen brand. And I love that I can pop into the factory store occasionally and check out the bargains. Since this IS a factory outlet store, the selection varies greatly each time I've visited so I'd call it a "hit or miss" type of place. If you don't find something one day, don't fret, just try again in a few weeks. Yes, prices are a bit shocking but these are bonafide luxury goods you're buying here and sorry but you will not find Matouk linens at TJMaxx or Homegoods. There are a few sales associates that are less than friendly but one woman is so friendly and helpful that she will get right down on the floor and dig through piles of pillow shams with you to help you find just one more Euro sham in the color you need. When you first opened you were a teeny, tiny little space in the Fall River Industrial Park and now you're a big, beautiful showroom... Still in the same place, but whatever. When a fussy cat put an end to one of my sets of Target 400-thread-count sheets I decided it was time to up my bedroom game and get some sheets from one of the best linen makers in the country (and start locking my cat out of my room at night). Local? Yay! Supporting buisnesses in my struggling little city? Yay! Paying around $250 for a queen size sheet set with all the trimmings? Um... Okay! $250 seemed like a lot but the sheets are heavenly and I do not regret buying them at all after sleeping on them. They are a worthwhile investment but after going back in this week to do a little holiday shopping I was sad to note that along with the upgraded showroom Matouk has raised their prices to be closer to what they charge for their product at Bloomingdales. One king duvet set I spied was going for $499, way more than they were charging on my last visit this summer. I really hope to shop at Matouk for myself again when I need some new linens, but I can't imagine shopping for anyone else there unless they begin to bring their prices back down a bit. read more

Premium quality towels, bedding, and blankets at marked down prices -- the February special sale month is particularly good, but bargains can be found throughout the year. The best buys are in the seconds or discontinued items, so it behooves one to visit periodically in order to find the styles/colors that you're looking for -- but if you're not fussy in that manner, you're bound to find something luxurious to pamper yourself (or impress your friends/family as gifts) at a pleasing price. One of the nicest luxury brands I have ever purchased. Not only is the quality amazing, the customer service is the best I have ever dealt with. I had requested two fabric samples and I received them within a few days. I also received a nice personalized email stating the samples had been mailed to me and to let them know if I had any questions. I placed my bed linen order and I promptly received my shipment . Not only is the product and service top notch, so is their packaging and even the stationary they use. It is very rare these days to find a company that adds so many personal touches. Unbelievable! I bought a very expensive coverlet, and the quality is disgraceful. I reached out to the company within 2 weeks of the purchase. I was told to ship it back after I had sent photos to back up my dissatisfaction. They will not refund or replace. I was told because there were dog hairs on it. Well of course there would be when your fur baby sleeps on your bed. But the issue wasn't dog hairs. THE ISSUE WAS HORRIBLE PILLING.I was told do not wash, so of course I did what they told me to do. The item was returned to them and no one reached out. I had to chase them down. The women Bonnie I dealt with was very misleading to say the least. I love my Matouk but am very disappointed in the life span. Have duvet cover, top sheet, bottom sheet (which feels soo good), shams and pillow cases. However they didn't wear very well. Bottom sheet, top sheet and shams have all torn. I have since purchased a new set and was told by another bedding manufacturer to use less washing liquid and no starch when ironing. read more

Store consists of one semi large room. We had driven a fair distance and had high hopes for this place. I wanted to browse a little before making up my mind since towels here are a big investment. The clerk was pushy -verging on rude- and asked short questions like "Well, are you going to buy these or not?" We had been there for about 3 minutes. With regard to previous comments, they use different fabric mixes in their various sheets: and a staffer will always help by telling you if your choice is high maintenance...or easier to care for. One would think that higher price means higher quality, but this is not the case with Matouk sheets. BTW, although the sheets are labelled, "Made is USA" many are not. SO I was stupid enough to by some sheets. What a mistake. I bought the 350 percale; I have always loved percale over the years. I paid a steep price expecting that they would exceed the percale sheets I currently have......the sheets that I did not pay a lot for......The Matouk sheets are horrible!!!!! After washing, the sheets were a wrinkled mess. Ok I thought, some percale is known to do this, however; over the years even medium quality cotton percale requires only a little ironing. So I ironed the sheets and put them on my bed. They did fit well, and tucked nicely on the sides. Unfortunately, the next morning after a good night sleep , they were a wrinkled mess. It was unbelievable how wrinkled they were again!!! They are made from the cheapest quality cotton ever. Now lets' talk about the even more expensive product they offer, the 1000 thread count. these are softer but the fibers are finer. The sales person told me; "these sheets will not last." " The fiber is very fine, which feels better, but it is not durable." Are you kidding! The thought that one might find quality sheets at Matouk, is simply not true. Do not expect a good buy for your money. Do not expect durability. Do not expect sheets made in the USA, about 60% are made overseas according to the owner. Do not expect a nice looking bed in sheets that wrinkle so easily they look horrible. This is one colossal scam as with most bedding now a days. I am not that old, but I still have the sheets my mom gave me. They are just as good today as they were new. She tells me that cotton was grown and milled much better than today. It is as if the US has forgotten excellence and quality, the things we were known for, and the things that others admired us for.........it is sad, but these high priced sheets are horrible. .....and good sheets are hard to find these days. Hi - I too am surprised about the negative reviews. I went today for the first time and got a lot for my money. I spent about $250 and got the following: Queen sheet set (fitted, flat and 2 standard pillowcases), 4 large hand towels, a bath mat, 2 additional standard pillow cases, and a 27 x 27 sham cover. All of the pieces are 100% cotton, and absolutely of the finest quality. Truly, the fabric is gorgeous - very high quality. The sheets I bought are plain white, and the flat sheet and pillow cases have a very pretty lace detail. I'm not one to go for loud and busy sheets, so these were perfect. I just made my bed, and the sheets are generous in size - you don't have to pull extra hard to get the corners on and the flat sheet is very generous so you can really tuck in the sheet nicely. The store itself is clean, modern, pretty, well organized and nicely stocked. The store clerk was very helpful and my experience couldn't have been any better. I actually had to stop myself from buying other items, there was a lot to choose from. I would highly recommend stopping in to this outlet store. GREAT! read more

I always have a good experience when shopping at Matouk. I have experience the clerk to be very polite and knowing what she is talking about when questions are asked. If she do not know what the answer is to my questions, she will find out. I have lots of bedding for my bedroom as well as the guest room. I also have lots of towels which I love. This company charged me immediately - over $1800 for an order which was not delivered after one month. Asking for an explanation was more or less "the dog ate my homework" - no one knew what was happening. I asked for a refund and am still waiting. I will not do any business with these people again. One can buy these products through department stores for better services, or better still, buy very similar high end products from other manufacturers. read more

I absolutely love the product, buy it exclusively, and think the new showroom is bright and well designed. Having said that I must say that the sales personnel are the most condescending and snooty that I have ever met! Take a lesson from the Apple company, at least pretend to be interested in the consumer.... I do believe that ultimately we pay your salary! In addition to that.... do not judge a book by the cover..... we may not be on our way to our summer place on Nantucket, but it does not mean we do not understand and purchase for personnel use a high end product. Beware. Once you use Matouk products you are forever spoiled. I purchased classic chain towels over eight years ago and will never buy another brand. We use them every day. Still look great and I expect many more years of use. No shrinkage, curling or raveling and all this from the outlet store. Their cotton sheets are a perfect combination of soft and crisp. This is not fake lower quality outlet merchandise we are all used to now. Store is full of discontinued and slightly defective products. Happy shopping. read more
