We started coming here this summer to get my kids some extra help with math over the summer break. My daughter was slipping in math and needed some extra help. We didn't know much about Mathnasium but thought we would give it a shot. My kids were unsure and nervous about it and thought they were going back to school. However, Lisa and the staff welcomed them with smiles, joy, and a prize from the shelf. Within a week they were hooked and now they love coming every day. They really do get excited when I tell them we will be going to Mathnasium. (This shocked me that they liked it so much, since I never did enjoy math). They frequently get one-on-one help from their great staff and always tell me stories about their lives (which one is getting married, where they go to school, what their favorite food is, etc.). They have become friends that they look forward to seeing. I am so glad we decided to come here this summer and I know it will really help my kids as they return to school this fall. I visited the facility recently. I like that it is really close from my kids' school. It was very clean and the owner was very friendly. They have a prize system for the kids as incentives. The owner gave my two kids prize/snacks for visiting. The tutors were sitting with the kids giving one on one attention. It was definitely a studying atmosphere. My friend told me about how Mathnasium helped her son with his math problems. So I decided to try it for my seventh grade son and it has been the perfect solution for us. I've tried to hire private tutors but the tutor always changed his meeting schedule and the cost was too much. I've sent him to Kumon but he hated going and we had constant fights over the kumon homework that wasn't finished. At Mathnasium, my son finishes all his work there so there's no extra homework to fight over at home. Since I am a working mom, their flexible schedule has also been a bonus. My highschooler was having trouble with Geometry. His teacher was a physics major from another country. His heavy accent combined with the fact that he really did not know how to teach geometry to students made it difficult for my son (and the class) to grasp the material. This place is AMAZING!! My 6 year old daughter was really struggling at math and her teacher was really worried that she was going to fall way too far behind. So I googled tutoring near me and Mathnasium pulled up. I was very hesitant since my daughter is very reserved when it comes to new things. She did the trial and loved it. Management is extremely considerate. If i forget to pay but my daughter goes to Mathnasium anyway they take her and tutor her with no problem, they just nicely remind me with the phone call and they even ask when I want my card to be charged. It's super convenient. My daughter is in pre-calculus class in Junior year of High School and she is doing great! She states that everything makes scene after Mathnasium tutoring. All of her questions are answered and she is given practice tests to validate her knowledge. I would recommend it 100%. MATHNASIUM IN LADERA IS WELL WORTH GOING!! Lisa and her staff are truly engaged and care about teaching and helping kids learn math, making it fun, giving incentives -- all, of course, in their calm and very positive environment. All 3 kids have been to Mathnasium. Our youngest is now 8 years old. Our oldest two are in Math Honors in HS now, thanks to Mathnasium and their great math teachers. They customize to your needs. It is much different than Kumon which we also tried for two years. Both are good but Mathnasium develops complex math concepts and takes it to a higher and more challenging level. My daughter started here in the middle of her 7th grade year. Because of issues with her math teacher at school, she needed to be placed in their AP math class but wasn't quite there. After about a month at Mathnasium, she tested into the AP math class with a "B." With her commitment to going to Mathnasium 2x a week and working hard, she seemed to move through Mathnasium's curriculum pretty well. She is now in 8th grade and recently got her High School math results. She was automatically placed in their Honors Algebra 1 class! We've had a great experience with mathnasium. Lisa the owner and her staff are very attentive and diligent in working with the students and making sure they communicate the students progress and areas for improvement. The integrative approach of word problems and numerical fluency, along with other common core aligned lessons kept my daughter engaged and challenged. She thoroughly enjoyed going to the center. It has reinforced confidence and interest in math for her. Great owners, that really care for the development of the student. Our daughter was struggling in her Junior year of High School with Algebra 2/Trig. After listening to her being tutored by my husband one evening, I realized we couldn't go through the whole Junior year this way.
