In early February 2022, I searched for a business that either leased or allowed customers to…read morepurchase moving crates. I wanted crates instead of regular paper boxes for my move from one apartment to another because you don't have to worry about them busting open and it makes everything neater when packing. My initial phone call to Taggabox didn't go so well because a "Karen" (not her real name, but I'll call her that) answered the phone, got sassy when I attempted to ask her a question, and abruptly hung up on me. I took a deep breath, waited a few minutes later and called back. What a difference a few minutes makes, as a much more pleasant woman answered the phone this time. I rented 25 crates for one week (February 15 - 22, 2022). The total price for renting them was $140.49. They delivered them to the apartment I was moving from and I was impressed with how quickly the delivery guy was able to transport the crates up three flights of stairs to reach my apartment. Along with the crates, Taggabox allowed me to use three small carts with wheels on them that you can use to stack the boxes on and roll them out. Though the boxes were a just a little smaller than I imagined they'd be, they were very sturdy, hard plastic crates, and helped make packing easier. I still had to end up getting some paper boxes in order to finish packing up all of my stuff, but that was okay. I am still pleased with the crates and carts, as they made the moving process more convenient. They were the most valuable tools of the move. The only mild criticism I have of the delivery and pick-up is that both times I had to take a little time off from work so I could be at home when they came by at 10am on a weekday. They picked up the crates and push carts from the address I moved to, but didn't arrive until closer to 11am. But overall, I am impressed with their service and would use them the next time I move.

This was an incredibly disappointing move experience, with an even more disappointing customer…read moreservice follow up experience. I think it's fair to assess that they just don't care about return customers and referrals. Zero accountability for promises made, and a very rude attitude. These are just the highlights... A day or two prior to the move, I was told it was GEORGIA LAW that my televisions are transported in special boxes. Samantha made a huge show of "giving me a deal" by providing these boxes for free because I had not been notified previously- yet the movers showed up without said boxes. So either she lied, or they broke the law...? There was an unexpected and understandable event on the company's end the day of my move which delayed things by several hours. However, the staff took no actions to move things along until I had to call several times after my arrival window passed. On top of everything, the movers took considerably longer (4 hours after the 2-3 hour estimate), which I attributed to being very cautious. Unfortunately I've since realized they must have damaged the springs of my couch somehow because the seats now sink down much lower than before. I received a follow up call from Andrew a few weeks later. His reaction to my feedback could only be described as nonchalant. There are so many moving companies out there. Do yourself a favor and keep shopping.

Big Tony and his two man crew arrived ahead of time after a six hour drive. They were very professional. After surveying the house and all of the things that I wanted to get moved, they immediately began to strategically place my boxed and shrink wrapped belongings into the truck. Upon arrival at the storage facility, Big Tony assessed that the previous mover had improperly placed the boxes and he had to remove and repack the entire space. This was an unprecedented decision considering he had another move planned for the next day and it was also out-of-state. He and his crew exceeded my expectations in that they arrived early; had to move items from upstairs (did not complain); were not standing around talking and/or smoking; were personable; and were conscientious about getting the job DONE! There were no broken or mishandled items only smooooth handling of a 1800+ house and all of its goods. Thank you, Big Tony and crew, for a job well done! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I used this company twice within six months for my move. The first move…read morewas a pleasant experience but the second move was a total DISASTER and very unprofessional. I chose this company the second time around simply because the owner knew exactly what I needed to move I trusted him based on the prior service given. When I called to request his service this last time, he asked no questions like where was I moving, how many bedrooms, were there stairs involved etc.... so he just assumed and didn't clarify or anticipate my needs. The owner used young teenage boys approximately 13 and no more than 16 years old, and not GROWN MEN to do the labor while he stood and watched and passed the pieces off the truck on my last move. It took them much longer to move this time because of the lack of experience with young boys moving, the first time he used his grown son and his younger son, but he also helped too. I was aware that the distance was involved this go around and was prepared to pay extra for that. I realized after too much time had passed and the owner mentioning one of my appliances wouldn't fit in my new place something was different this time around....I told him my appliance would fit, this is when I became aware after two hours of moving on this end, he NEVER went upstairs to survey or even supervise the MINORS that were moving my furniture and belongings. They placed stuff anywhere and was attempting to leave without putting my living room set back together. I asked that they not put my beds together because the time had passed immensely and at this point I am very upset because the owner told me "I don't do stairs"....this was his excuse for not supervising or helping the young boys do work. My move started at 9:30 a.m. and they didn't finish until 6:00 p.m., the owner was very unprofessional and even loudly argued out in the street at my new residence for a minute because he didn't want to accept the responsibility of not clearly communicating to understand my needs initially. I explained to him had he notified me up front "he didn't do stairs" I would have chosen another company that would have been well worth the $687 charged unexpectedly and one of the young men 'stole' $10 from my wallet so I ended up paying $697 for a sloppy move job. I WILL NEVER USE HIM again and suggest no one else does either. He actually argued with me the customer instead of admitting his wrong of not being professional and communicating up front to get the details and quoting his price. It's also illegal to use minors under age to do the work that was done, I'm sure they only received a minor portion if any of the money paid. I was so hurt and disappointed with the services provided and to be yelled at and blamed for the unprofessionalism that was clearly the owner's fault was truly hurtful. I plan to report this to the BBB too and alerting them of the minors being used to do the work when they should have been in school learning. The owner claims he's just the driver and I only hired a two man crew and that's true, I expected two FULL GROWN MEN and not young teenagers who did not have the strength or coordination to get job done in an expedited professional manner and to know how to organize things the way GROWN MEN would have done.

Carpet Depot installed the carpeting in our home when my wife & I moved here in September 2011…read more Because we had such a fantastic experience with them, we decided to go back to them. After pricing Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring at a couple other retailers, including the big-box DIY stores, we stopped back by Carpet Depot to speak with Kevin (the owner) and his staff. As before, they were knowledgeable and professional in every way. After taking a few weeks to decide regarding the type of LVP (more for my wife than me), we made our decision and set up a time for Kevin to come by to double check our measurements. The price was extremely good and very competitive. As with most things in today's retail market, it took a few weeks for the materials to come in: we put LVP on the downstairs floor and a high-grade commercial carpet on the stairs. During the whole "waiting" period, either Kevin or his staff called us to keep us informed where everything was or wasn't. When everything came in, we were told it could take up to two days. We had to have an area of tongue-and-groove ¾ inch oak removed and the old carpeting in the fireplace room and the stairs removed as well, so we figured this was reasonable. When the installation crew arrived, they informed us it would all be done in one day! The installation guys were phenomenal. Face it, it doesn't matter how nice the flooring is unless it is installed properly. The crew was polite, and they worked extremely hard. I used to manage job sites and these guys were great! This was perhaps the number one of the reason why we returned to Carpet Depot--the professionalism and service of Kevin's installation crews. We are beyond satisfied with our new floors! They finished quickly, they were extremely concerned with our satisfaction, and they were professional. The market right now is very tight cost-wise. You always get what you pay for and there is little ability for a quality install and product at a very low price. This is just where we are in our economy today. What makes the difference is the customer service and the people doing the service. The biggest difference in today's economy is the service. Carpet Depot delivers on this. And I have longer than ten years' experience to prove it!
